Thank you! This was so helpful. I have the D7 and my roller was stuck. I was able to take it apart, clean everything and get it back together with this video!
I found a weird thing when replacing the battery of my Neato BotVac D3. When I cut up the old battery out of curiosity, I found only 4 cells. At the end of the battery pack in a separate compartment, there were two metal plates glued on top of each other. They were about the size of two cells and weight about the same. What a cheap trick of Neato's to only give 4 cells when they could have provided 6 in the same size package! The new battery is triangular in cross section. It seems to have 8 or 9 cells in it. It gives the BotVac great run time and it can do the whole clean on one charge.
One suggestion: on the long brush, the larger of the two ends, the one that spins, is removable, and, at least in my pet-heavy home, cat and dog hair gets spun around the axle and collects in a wad. By removing the end cap and pulling the hair wad out, it improves the efficiency of the roller.
Very informative, thank you! Just a note: I (absent-mindedly) forgot to put a filter in the bin one time, and the Neato will still run without it. This will lead to the buildup you saw in the exhaust.
Don't miss the grid on the back, where the air comes out. In my D3 a lot of dog hairs had slipped by all filters and got stuck there. A little flat screwdriver pops it open and the garbage can be removed.
Thanks for the great video. I have a D7 which is having trouble with one of the spring loaded wheels so I have disassembled the wheel area and the springs popped out. When trying to re-assemble I can't work out where to place the springs and a couple of the connectors. Do you have any video or description that helps with disassembly/reassembly of this part of the machine?
Cody Robinson right now the Neato connected has been on sell for around $450. I have also seen the Neato D3 on sale for $299 however depending on the size of your living space the D3 might not be for you.

hi! I wanted to know if you think it is safe to buy filters and brushes for the Neato on aliexpress? thank you!!
There are no thumb spots on my D3 connected
can you test the hoover power drive pet
One question, i saw ur robot is off. Mine is stay on when i flip them. How do we turn it off?
Press the power button and right bumper for 10 seconds then it will turn off.
How is the Shark Ion 750 compared to Neato & Roomba?
The Neato is way better, but I would choose the Shark over the Roomba
Deep clean!? This is a very basic cleaning, that should be completed weekly, depending on usage.
Read a lot of bad reviews online about Neato. Are you sure it’s better than Roomba 960?
Cody Robinson Yes, I have tried both and the Neato connected series is great! Much better suction and overall performance with my Neato
Which is the Best value Neato?

This waisted 7 minutes of my life. Not a deep clean…you wiped the outside off
to keep your robot vacuum in top shape, do the work yourself when you can and don't be a lazy bum.😆
