You talking about the vocal range of Vocaloid made me think of how I can still not sing the high notes of Meltdown (also a vocaloid song). And how I always feel a bit bad for anyone that covers the song because you can really hear how high it goes. Or with the Disappearance of Hatsune Miku being intentionally ridiculously fast. Vocaloid let's you compose songs you would feel sorry for real singers to sing lol

If you would like to listen to more English based vocaloid music I highly recommend songs by the producer KIRA such as “Monster”, “GETCHA”, “Highlight” and “LadyLike”.
Here's some Vocaloid fun facts, because you've probably heard vocaloid before without actually realizing it! The Nyan Cat song was actually originally sung by Hatsune Miku (produced by Daniwell who still makes music btw), however the version that became popular was a cover done using an UTAU named Momone Momo. UTAU is another voice synth software, but unlike vocaloid, it's free and is typically seen as lower quality, however I enjoy a lot of UTAU songs. Porter Robinson uses a lot of Vocaloid in his music. The song that first comes to mind is Goodbye to a World which is completely sung using a vocaloid if I remember correctly. He usually uses vocaloid in the background vocals. The cartoon Bee and Puppycat actually uses the vocaloid Oliver to voice Puppycat! I think it's really interesting how vocaloid has shown up so much across English media, but not many people know about it, or they think of it as a niche genre.
Oh yeah, Goodbye to a World uses Avanna, but I didn't know the bit about background vocals. To add to this, the anime movie Paprika was the first instance of Vocaloid used in a movie soundtrack. In that case, it was Lola - the first female Vocaloid ever released. I think GUMI is also used as an alert on the site Nico Nico Douga, which has also appeared in at least one anime (I think Watamote? Watamote also used Hatsune Miku once too).
@@nekoprankster2184 Oh, I've never seen Paprika, but that's really interesting! And I completely forgot about WataMote, it's been a pretty long time since I've seen it haha. I'm sure I've seen plenty of other references to vocaloid in anime before, but I tried to point out more western media. And the thing about background vocals in Robinson's music is that I'm fairly certain vocaloid is used in Shelter, though I haven't been able to find anything confirming this, and I'm sure I've heard samples of vocaloid used in some of his other songs unless I'm completely crazy haha. I could be wrong about it, as again, I haven't found anything confirming it.

Definitely worth being a Series you can put more time into. So many different genres, unique sounds, great artists, etc. I listen to music 24/7, to sleep, cook, game, everything and Vocaloid alone got me through 5 years+. There is a lot to unpack with Vocaloid as a Genre of Music. Definitely should have more recognition as a whole and not limited to Anime Fans and similar people.

When you said "not many singers have huge vocals, right?", I thought "there's utaite!". Mafumafu and Miyashita Yuu are great choices for voice range. Vocaloids are great (I like the songs from Deco 27 and Neru), then utaites give humanness (is this a word?) to the song. I love the combination!

I HIGHLY recommend Eve as another vocaloid artist!! his songs are so good and the animated videos are really cool. my favorites are inochi no tabekata, dramaturgy, and raison detre :))))
So glad you're continuing with this series, there's just so much with Vocaloid you can get. If I had to give some recommendations, it'd probably be "Fairytale," by BuzzG, but specifically Kyaami's "cover" (still using vocaloid, but it's a different version than the original) cause the actual singing in that is top tier imo, and also a series of Vocaloid songs by Jin, "Kagerou Project". Kagerou Project is essentially a "cinematic universe" of stories, but based around all of these vocaloid songs. It's even been adapted into manga and anime. If I had to recommend specific songs from it, I'd probably go "Kagerou Days" sung by Hatsune Miku, "Toumei Answer" sung by IA and "Yobanashi Deceive" which is IA again, but in general all of KagePro is amazing.
I'm surprised no one recommended PoPiPo as a Vocaloid song to listen to! It's the top happy/nonsense song imo haha I also think listening to utaite (Vocaloid cover artists) would be a good idea! If you want to listen to original songs made by them, I can recommend Mafumafu, Eve, Reol and the covers nqrse makes (they have original rap parts in them)!

If you want something different sounding to what you've heard so far though the 'tailor of enbizaka' has a great instrumental. Vocacircus's Lie with megurine luka, slow paced compared to what you've seen so far. Also circus has some fantastic tuning. Any song by Kikuo, heartfelt and often sad or unsettling in theme.

Just saw this a bit ago. There's a game called Project SEKAI (Colorful Stage is the English title) and they have some of the familiar songs, but they also have songs that were commissioned for the game. Infinitely Grey (Close to Grey), Once Upon a Dream, and RAD DOGS being a few of them, those were from events. There are some that were there from release (at least the English release) like, needLe and Ready Steady.
If you want a bop with dark lyrics, you should try The Fox’s Wedding by MASA WORKS DESIGN. It’s one of the songs from a series of songs with a storyline (Don’t know the name of the series right now). Also, put subtitles on for this song. Edit: Also listen to The Spider and the Kitsune-like Lion from the same person and series.

I love that you listened to Bring it On! It’s my favourite Vocaloid song! PS: If you want to switch it up, may I suggest listening to Project Sekai songs? It’s a Vocaloid themed rhythm game which includes five groups that cover Vocaloid songs. They also sing original songs commissioned by Vocaloid producers.
Have you listened to any of the classics (Popipo, Disappearance, Triple Baka, Teto Territory, etc, etc) before? That might quench your thirst for vocaloid.
I saw you were interested by guitar so I just had to throw my hat into the ring as well and recommend Jin! He’s my favorite producer of mine and all of his songs involve the guitar, which he plays himself in most of not all of his music. His songs vary, however his most popular tracks are all apart of the “Kagerou Project.” If you want a really good guitar line, I suggest either he most popular song Kagerou Days, or (my personal favorite), Summertime Record. Then there’s the children record which is just simply iconic, and such a good song. Also! A lot of his songs feature IA, a vocaloid you haven’t listen to but I think has such a gorgeous voice. She is primarily used in rock songs or ballads, and even has a voice bank especially for rock. Her English also sounds incredibly realistic however that is going more into CeVio’s vs Vocaloid. I also suggest anything by Nyanyannya if you want a whole new unique song, Doctor=Funkbeat is a fan favorite of his discography.
Yooo super happy to see you cover vocaloid again! It's especially cool to see you react to songs with different voicebanks and to different genres :D If vocaloid has at all piqued your interest especially when it comes to vocal ranges and such, I really recommend checking out utaites (people who cover (or used to cover) vocaloid songs) like Eve, Mafumafu or Miy Yuu! A ton of utaites make original music now often in a similar style to vocaloid songs. For example Eve who's mostly known for his original songs nowadays. A lot of them use some really interesting sound design and filters and their vocal ranges and styles are really impressive and I think it could be worth checking out :D!!
Good sir, if you thought the OG version of “Honey I’m Home” was funky, you need to take a gander at the “I’m Not Eating Bugs” version. Or, no, better yet- the utterly terrifying masterpiece that is “Hyperdontia” (probably didn’t spell that right, but it’s fine-). Imagine setting THAT as your alarm, man. XD
If you're going to continue reacting to vocaloids, I would totally recommend the Evil series (Daughter of Evil, Servant of Evil, Regret message is the order) which is sung by Rin and Len. Some other good ones are Lost one/s weeping, Circles and Machine gun by Kira, and Echo by Crusher
A song that I would love to recommend for it's slightly weird metaly-style ,yet with vocaloid vocals, is Crocodile Skin by Cepheid! It's super cool, absolutely one of my favourite songs to jam to.

I really thought the Kairiki one was miy_yu cover. I would recommend Miyashita Yuu, he has a lot of covers that is really kinda different compared to the original. It may be just covers(and he has some originals too), but it's really great, he has some great range especially his Non Breathe and Unknown Mother Goose and many of his Maretu Covers. I would recommend Wozwald, Non Breathe Obliged, Shama and Coquetterie Dancer and some more, I mean every cover he did and originals are great! And Eve or Ado too.

Here's some Vocaloid fun facts, because you've probably heard vocaloid before without actually realizing it!
The Nyan Cat song was actually originally sung by Hatsune Miku (produced by Daniwell who still makes music btw), however the version that became popular was a cover done using an UTAU named Momone Momo. UTAU is another voice synth software, but unlike vocaloid, it's free and is typically seen as lower quality, however I enjoy a lot of UTAU songs.
Porter Robinson uses a lot of Vocaloid in his music. The song that first comes to mind is Goodbye to a World which is completely sung using a vocaloid if I remember correctly. He usually uses vocaloid in the background vocals.
The cartoon Bee and Puppycat actually uses the vocaloid Oliver to voice Puppycat!
I think it's really interesting how vocaloid has shown up so much across English media, but not many people know about it, or they think of it as a niche genre.
Oh yeah, Goodbye to a World uses Avanna, but I didn't know the bit about background vocals.
To add to this, the anime movie Paprika was the first instance of Vocaloid used in a movie soundtrack. In that case, it was Lola - the first female Vocaloid ever released. I think GUMI is also used as an alert on the site Nico Nico Douga, which has also appeared in at least one anime (I think Watamote? Watamote also used Hatsune Miku once too).

And the thing about background vocals in Robinson's music is that I'm fairly certain vocaloid is used in Shelter, though I haven't been able to find anything confirming this, and I'm sure I've heard samples of vocaloid used in some of his other songs unless I'm completely crazy haha. I could be wrong about it, as again, I haven't found anything confirming it.

Definitely worth being a Series you can put more time into. So many different genres, unique sounds, great artists, etc. I listen to music 24/7, to sleep, cook, game, everything and Vocaloid alone got me through 5 years+. There is a lot to unpack with Vocaloid as a Genre of Music. Definitely should have more recognition as a whole and not limited to Anime Fans and similar people.

Edit: I mean this!! Kikuo is on God Tier since 2012. He's up there with GIGA-P in terms of talent and GHOST when it comes to sound.
When you said "not many singers have huge vocals, right?", I thought "there's utaite!". Mafumafu and Miyashita Yuu are great choices for voice range. Vocaloids are great (I like the songs from Deco 27 and Neru), then utaites give humanness (is this a word?) to the song. I love the combination!

by the way, the artist of the 1st song in the video (Shadow Shadow) is apparently only 16 years old, and had only just recently started out with making vocaloid music

So glad you're continuing with this series, there's just so much with Vocaloid you can get. If I had to give some recommendations, it'd probably be "Fairytale," by BuzzG, but specifically Kyaami's "cover" (still using vocaloid, but it's a different version than the original) cause the actual singing in that is top tier imo, and also a series of Vocaloid songs by Jin, "Kagerou Project". Kagerou Project is essentially a "cinematic universe" of stories, but based around all of these vocaloid songs. It's even been adapted into manga and anime. If I had to recommend specific songs from it, I'd probably go "Kagerou Days" sung by Hatsune Miku, "Toumei Answer" sung by IA and "Yobanashi Deceive" which is IA again, but in general all of KagePro is amazing.

It may have already been recommended before but I strongly recommend "My R" the Kurage-P version is good but personally as an English speaking native I like the cover done by Bao as it lets me understand the story its telling really really good stuff there and just a good sounding song
You should really react to some of the classics as well. Meltdown, Kokoro, and Love Is War.
I recommend listening to some R.I.P songs. They're style is similar to ghost's but they're they're own thing with their own twist. I recommend "I'll throw my emotions away" and their newest one "it should've been me"

Vocacircus's Lie with megurine luka, slow paced compared to what you've seen so far. Also circus has some fantastic tuning.

Just saw this a bit ago. There's a game called Project SEKAI (Colorful Stage is the English title) and they have some of the familiar songs, but they also have songs that were commissioned for the game. Infinitely Grey (Close to Grey), Once Upon a Dream, and RAD DOGS being a few of them, those were from events. There are some that were there from release (at least the English release) like, needLe and Ready Steady.

my personal recommendation for future vocaloid videos would be going by producer. Giga, Wowaka, Jin, Deco*27, Neru and Hachi are some of my favorites
If you want a bop with dark lyrics, you should try The Fox’s Wedding by MASA WORKS DESIGN. It’s one of the songs from a series of songs with a storyline (Don’t know the name of the series right now).
Also, put subtitles on for this song.

PS: If you want to switch it up, may I suggest listening to Project Sekai songs? It’s a Vocaloid themed rhythm game which includes five groups that cover Vocaloid songs. They also sing original songs commissioned by Vocaloid producers.
Have you listened to any of the classics (Popipo, Disappearance, Triple Baka, Teto Territory, etc, etc) before? That might quench your thirst for vocaloid.

If you want something Vocaloid but completely different, I’d recommend any Kikuo song, or Utsu-P. Especially The Fools are Attracted to Anomaly
I saw you were interested by guitar so I just had to throw my hat into the ring as well and recommend Jin! He’s my favorite producer of mine and all of his songs involve the guitar, which he plays himself in most of not all of his music. His songs vary, however his most popular tracks are all apart of the “Kagerou Project.”
If you want a really good guitar line, I suggest either he most popular song Kagerou Days, or (my personal favorite), Summertime Record. Then there’s the children record which is just simply iconic, and such a good song.
Also! A lot of his songs feature IA, a vocaloid you haven’t listen to but I think has such a gorgeous voice. She is primarily used in rock songs or ballads, and even has a voice bank especially for rock. Her English also sounds incredibly realistic however that is going more into CeVio’s vs Vocaloid.
I also suggest anything by Nyanyannya if you want a whole new unique song, Doctor=Funkbeat is a fan favorite of his discography.

If vocaloid has at all piqued your interest especially when it comes to vocal ranges and such, I really recommend checking out utaites (people who cover (or used to cover) vocaloid songs) like Eve, Mafumafu or Miy Yuu! A ton of utaites make original music now often in a similar style to vocaloid songs. For example Eve who's mostly known for his original songs nowadays. A lot of them use some really interesting sound design and filters and their vocal ranges and styles are really impressive and I think it could be worth checking out :D!!
Good sir, if you thought the OG version of “Honey I’m Home” was funky, you need to take a gander at the “I’m Not Eating Bugs” version. Or, no, better yet- the utterly terrifying masterpiece that is “Hyperdontia” (probably didn’t spell that right, but it’s fine-). Imagine setting THAT as your alarm, man. XD
If you're going to continue reacting to vocaloids, I would totally recommend the Evil series (Daughter of Evil, Servant of Evil, Regret message is the order) which is sung by Rin and Len. Some other good ones are Lost one/s weeping, Circles and Machine gun by Kira, and Echo by Crusher
A song that I would love to recommend for it's slightly weird metaly-style ,yet with vocaloid vocals, is Crocodile Skin by Cepheid! It's super cool, absolutely one of my favourite songs to jam to.
I'm a bit late, but a suggestion; you should listen to Shama, Kilmer, and Arandano by NILFRUITS!! It's great Vocaloid music!

One that I loved from Vocaloid was "Alice Human Sacrifice", I remember there was an animation/animatic for it. This was the first vocaloid song I ever listened

I really thought the Kairiki one was miy_yu cover. I would recommend Miyashita Yuu, he has a lot of covers that is really kinda different compared to the original. It may be just covers(and he has some originals too), but it's really great, he has some great range especially his Non Breathe and Unknown Mother Goose and many of his Maretu Covers. I would recommend Wozwald, Non Breathe Obliged, Shama and Coquetterie Dancer and some more, I mean every cover he did and originals are great! And Eve or Ado too.

For me, I have never heard of vocaloid songs till the year of 2023 (which is now, of course). The first vocaloid cover song I've heard was called "The Devil's Swing" by Fandroid, the voices he used were Rindy + Lendy.
Loved the video and I recommend doing a video reacting to Amanda Fagan, she has alot of dream smp songs, but also completely original music.

if you ever check out covers of songs on your own time, i highly recommend Rishie-P! (ghost rule, rolling girl, hibana) her covers with miku v4x solid are my absolute favorite because of the /emotion/ she achieves.
I feel like now days people don't know much about vocaloid so I really like seeing reactions like this ^^ I would recommend some songs but there's so many songs recommendations in the comments lmao but since Gumi is my fav vocaloid I wish you could react to some of the songs with her, the producers are just so amazing and there's so much variety ^^
