To anyone with Hedgehogs seriously please remember to do morning, and nighttime check-ins like she does. I do them as well, but one night I fell asleep early and didn't end up checking on my hedgehog sense I passed out. The next morning his foot was black and swollen looking like it was about to fall off. We still don't know how it happened but he is a digger. Most likely he ripped apart his bedding because it was ripped up, and a string wrapped around his foot. He was so close to death, but we got him the proper care and he's still kicking around. Just always please remember to ch check-ins on them. I feel if I didn't fall asleep I could've prevented that from happening.

I got an African Pygmy Hedgehog 1 year later and i loved her so much but sadly she passed away a few days ago due to cancer. She was turning 5 this year. I decided to come back and watch this video for comfort in a way. She was one of my favourite pets that I've ever had and i think i gave her the best life possible thanks to this video and a few others. Thank you Tori for posting this. Nah hedgehogs put some strong scented things in their mouth and foam it up and then put it on their backs the theory is that they do it to camouflage their scent to predators

Recently I rescued a wild hedgehog and after holding it shortly (and releasing it, don't worry haha) I'm really interested in getting a pygmy hog :)) I have owned rodents before but now I think these guys are really cute and might fit my life very well
my hedgehog basically bites everything that's in front of her. I got bit for countless of times and that's pretty annoying as hell. She bit my girlfriend's breasts when she was being put in front of my girlfriend's chest!!! The worst thing is that when my hedgehog bites, she tends to use excessive force and pierce through skin!!!! T_T I've had her for almost a year now!!!!

Ella Jett You just have to be patient with her. Give her sometime to get use to you. My hedgehog wasn't comfortable me holding him when I first got him and took me a while for him to get to use to me. Just be patient and play with her more so she'll easily get use to you!😊
Ella Jett If she still bites you to to the store and buy some gloves from the hardware store. Get glove that their teeth won't puncture. Make sure to sleep with the gloves the day before using them so that it will get your scent on them. Just handle your hedgie with the gloves until they get used to you holding them.
im 10 and im getting a hedgehog once i get the money for it. i see all these kid channels buying hedgehogs and not doing research , screaming around them , not bathing them , only feeding them pellets , and forcing them to go through a shit ton of tubes. lets not forget the tiny critter trails. i feel so bad for them and i want to kill the parents for buying a pet without research. when i buy one it will be in good hands :)
That was such a cute video - your hedgehog is beyond adorable. It was funny when you turned to your cat and dog and they were standing there, eyeing you up, like "It's OUR time!" It only made it better that they were jet black - like they were mafia cat and dog, ready to pluck your hedgehog off, if you didn't put him/her down now, and spend time with them lol :) Anyway, great video!
I love our hedgehog "King Sonic" my six yr old named him, lol! "♡ He's salty and adorable, and he loves to burrow in my hair when I snuggle with him. They are chill pets so you have to check on them and make sure they are healthy and happy. Great vid, thanks for sharing
+Carol W I didn't - mine aren't litter trained :) I keep a tray under their wheel because that's where they go the most, but they go to the bathroom where they want typically.
Carol W I just put a litter box in the cage and would quickly run and put her in the tray when I saw she was about to use the bathroom (I let mine run around in a big hamster ball sometimes) and then every morning, I would move her poo into the litter box so she would associate poo with it. Eventually, she just started using it herself, then learned to pee in it too about a week or 2 later!
I learned that have a little Pan or something and put some droppings in there. They will learn that is where they have to go and if ur holding them and they are trained, if they scatter to the cage maybe it’s cuz they need to go to the bathroom!
