Idk why everyone criticizing this video when it literally says "my preference" in the title. Have they not seen other tierlist videos on TH-cam? They're almost always someone gives rankings based off their preference, not on facts. The creator put pros and cons so viewers could follow their line of thinking, not as evidence that the tierlist is the objectively correct ranking.

because the preference is ridiculous lol. Everybody knows that Ten is the best dancer of all NCT, even he is a main with Kai and Taemin in Super M. Same thing with all the list. This person just copy technique descriptions from somewhere, it's obvious that he don't have idea about it.

I prefer taeyong's style to tens, but ten is far more versatile and is truly one of kpops best dancers, so putting him at A was definitely....a choice

@@orpheus2724 im not a dancer either (i only know classical music/vocals) but a lot of dancers on youtube reacted and said that- watch 'death of a dancer- taeyong dance analysis' its an analysis by a ballet dancer plus dancer reactors like jeff avenue to it. apparently he pushes himself too much and are doing moves that will damage his back/legs in the long run (he did sit out of performances before because of that, he also has a bad back), according to the dancer reactors i mentioned, he has hypermobility and needs to be taught how to dance in a way that doesnt damage him and not to overpractice/overstrain (but its SM thats impossible) but well taeyong is pretty stubborn and tells fans not to worry, idk i trust him to know his limits but all these other dancer fans are super worried so now im worried too so aish
@@kelp2243 he definitely does a lot fo leg breaking moves (eg that one move in cherry bomb) so I definitely see that being a issue. I meant that I really love taeyong's style rather than his technique, because I obviously don't want him to hurt himself by overextending
taeyongs technique is actually kind of lacking at times... while ten is clearly built on fundamentals.
I was shocked when you ranked TEN as A. Dude has been ranked as best dancers in Kpop. He can pull up any dancing style "hip-hop, ballet, jazz, tap, modern" like he showed many different styles and choreographed his own and delivered it perfectly. I seriously think he's on another level...

I actually shocked when i saw Ten in A tier while Taeyong in S tier
i don’t think there’s much difference between s tier and a tier tbh, but the reason i put ten there is bc to my eyes he lack on dynamics. Don’t get me wrong i think he’s an incredible dancer, his flexibility is out of this world, and he doesn’t fail any angle nor detail BUT he doesn’t own his technique yet like taeyong and shotaro does. It’s okay to disagree w this bc while some ppl prioritize the versatility in dancing i actually think dynamics and originality is the best. But i don’t think there’s other weakness in ten besides that and messy arm control which to b honest is barely shown or noticeable.
@@gotseven @babywooshin in the whole NCT, Ten is only one who can combine the femininity and masculinity movements , he is known for this style and I think this makes him unique. Even the pro dancers who react to NCT's performances always got amazed by his moves, because it's kinda rare for a dancer to have this kind of duality movements. Anyway, I respect your POV.

yess mark dancing appreciation. he cant do smooth movements as well as, say haechan, but his groovy dance is (dare i say) one of if not the best in kpop... ex: watch lemonade, kick it, sticker, 90s love, etc mark fancams his movements r amazing and u can see how well of a dancer he is i just think there arent many choreos that compliment his dancing styles

There was a ballet dancer on TH-cam who analyzed Haechan’s dancing, and she mentioned that Haechan doesn’t need to over dance cause he knows how to use his body to execute sharp, clear movements without using too much energy. This is important for stage performances when he’s dancing, cause he’s a vocalist. And I’m not even being biased here but Haechan has one of the best angles in NCT, along with Renjun. This could be due to his background in ballet. I also think Jungwoo deserved to be higher up on this tier. But thanks for your opinion.

@@camillesantos41cs ok but saying haechan has messy angles isnt a "preference" its just incorrect. haechan has consistently good and clean angles, often even when you compare him to dancers like mark and taeyong who tend to have clean angles especially with their legs, haechans are often more clear. like its literally not a preference to think haechan doesnt have good angles

I respect your preference, but by skill/technique, Ten is the best dancer in nct. He's OFFICIALLY the only nct member that is part of "sm's the performance" (best dancers in sm), and OFFICIALLY the only nct member that is the main dancer of superm. Also he got dance solo in 2018 bob and 2020 resonance, members said Ten is the best in weekly idol, he got first place in hit the stage etc. Ten also showcased the most dancing styles out of the whole nct. So if you're just writing about your preference, you shouldn't add the "pros and cons" because technically Ten is the best...

yeah technically doesn't matter in what group Ten is, he will end up being the main dancer.
Ten isn't a better technical dancer than Shotaro, Shotaro has better dynamics by FAR and has the best isolation game in the group and probably in SM. I don't know why this is even controversial, it's the kind of things you can see easily if you know a bit about dancing or are a dancer. Ten is still very good, probably one of the best SM dancers and top 3 or 2 in NCT (depending on where you put Jisung)

I would do some slighty changes:
-Ten-S TIER
-Yuta and Mark both upper A tier
-Yang Yang,Jeno,Hendery and Jungwoo lower A tier or at least a Upper B tier...
-Renjun and Jaemin mid B tier
-Kun, Chenle and Sungchan lower C tier.
I think the other members are fairly rated...
Overall good list,i think you could have explained better the pros and cons,maybe showing some clips for each member showing the related pros and cons.

I know you gave pros and cons to each persons dance style but I feel as though some of the pros and cons don’t make sense for some of the guys. (I understand it’s based on your opinion) Skill and technique wise Ten deserves to be in an S tier. He’s the most versatile dancer in NCT he has great control and spacial awareness. He’s the most fluid dancer they have. To the point that he most likely is under performing when he’s with the other members. It’s pretty evident if you’ve watched his solo performances, he definitely looks to be holding back for the sake of the overall experience.
hey!! as i explained to another person even tho ten might be the most versatile dancer in nct, he is incredibly flexible and don’t miss any detail BUT TO ME dynamics makes a dancer fit the s tier category. other ppl may think what makes someone an s tier dancer is their versatility and skills and that’s fine!!. that’s why i put taros and yongs on the s tier bc i think they own their technique and add some type of flavor to their dancing which i feel so amazed for. ten may be more versatile but we cant ignore how taeyong has the best dynamics out there as well as taros

I think he’s got a lot to offer as a dancer but unfortunately it seems as though he’s been holding back and hasn’t had the proper opportunities to get to show how amazing he truly is. Not saying Taeyong isn’t a great dancer, he is one of the best dancers in the industry and deserves to be s tier. I was just saying how Ten also has the ability to be S tier. I don’t know what your standard of dynamic performance and charisma is but to my standards Ten definitely has it.
@@gotseven I would disagree with teayong having the best dynamic jisung and shotaro have way better dynamic than teayong and there's a lot of cons in teayong dancing that should be pointed out a main one is he doesn't relaxed his body which leads to him not executing grove properly and he has some stiffness in his pelvis and shoulders, but I do agree that ten is not the best dancer if he could just honed his isolation and do some Poppin which can improve his dynamic and musicality and do a little bit more ballet which can help him progress in contemporary he would be unstoppable but I still put him above teayong, I really got to say jisung is the most underrated dancer in NCT though I consider him to has the best dynamic in NCT

i get ur opinion but xiaojuns own his technique, jaemin is an incredible dancer but he overdances too much and jungwoo lacks on fluidity and technique. i invite u to watch xiaojuns make a wish fancam!
@@gotseven jaemin is far better than him though. He doesn't overdance that much though, he did a few times in ridin but it has improved a lot since then, especially after resonance era. He has far better technique, footwork, hand extensions, is very versatile and has amazing control (literally watch any boom fancam), he puts in energy where he needs to and has a very distinct and appealing style. Xiaojun was good in maw I agree but jaemin is easily in the top3 dancers for maw and that's not just me who's saying that. Jungwoo I may agree but I still find him better than xiaojun technique wise, I'd rank both of them C

shotaro is top tier lol, he's the longest trained NCT dancer (fifteen years) and he had the best training since he was an EXPG graduate (not only that, he was a top student) He also taught dance and was chosen as the youngest dancer in Gackt's 20th anniversary tour. Just say you think Ten is S tier too and go lmao

This is an intresting take... Okay I love Taeyong, I am so far biased its not even funny and of all dancers in the world even counting the genres I do I would he is my favorite. If I had to choose one dancer that I could see for the rest of my life it would be Taeyong, BUT, he is not above Ten or Shotaro. Saying Lucas lacking basic tehniques, putting Yangyang in B because he cant control his flexibility (Have you srsly ever watched how stupidly far Taeyong goes in his moves with his hypermobility?) Putting main vocals cons that they "under dance" or dance lazy. This list seems to be done by a person who knows nothing about dance techniques or dancing in a group. Most of the pros and cons made absolutely no sense.

lucas does have a basic technique tho, this actually makes him lack on dynamics and it makes him get stuck on his dancing,he needs to find a technique which can help to hide his poor flexibility. a lot of dancers do this for example if someone struggles with torso isolations the help of shoulders can make it seem your dancing more loosely. his facials are such a big help tho, sometimes confidence is way more essential and lucas completely owns that!
i dont really understand why u said those things bout main vocals like ??? i always give vocals credit for dancing like onew youngjae jongho taeil are such good singers and still manage to be incredible dancers i always give them credit but this doesn’t really correlate with vocals.even if doyoung or kun didn’t sing but still got the same dancing as now i’d say that’s a con bout them. i don’t get it?? it isn’t even a bad thing
underdancing isn’t the same as dance lazy pls. is just when u can’t control ur energy in some dance moves which is completely normal, control is one of the most difficult but essential things in dancing, so using the word lazy dancing is kinda wrong. Yangyang overworks some dance moves which require flexibility and that’s a fact, he definitely can improve it tho!
Ten is best dancer not only in NCT, he is one of the greatest in his generation of kpop idols. Ok we know Taeyong is very very talanted in different areas but he can't show same art dancing work as Ten does. dancing is not only about techniques, it's about delivering an emotion and Ten is best in it. He is outstanding performer.
I think they are both delivering emotions in their own ways, but you are right that dancing is not just about techniques. I agree that Ten is one of the best dancers in K-Pop.
I would say that performance is one of Taeyong's strengths too, i don't know anything about dancing so i can't say i notice technique but i think the reason why TY stands out is because he can deliver the emotions adn the concept in each song. Even Taemin called him master of concept.
Ten never stood out as much to me, but i wouldn't say i thought he was a worse dancer aither. Obviosly though since i don't know much about dancing this is wildly affected by just personal bias, I'm sure dancing and even performance are not the only reasons wht Taeyong always stands out to me
you probably have no formal dance training lmao taeyong can easily wash ten when it comes to popping and krump just because ten is better in lyrical and contemporary dance doesnt mean taeyong isnt S tier. @@oceana311 Ten started as hiphop dancer during his early teens,then he switched and tried different genres after his haitus. I agreed that Taeyong is a great dancer, but before you compare TEN to him, you better go back to SM rookies era,watch his solo performances, and you will know why people are damn mad on his skills.

I honestly think ten's technique and his overall dancing is better than taeyong. He's also more versatile and his dance background helps him with a lot of things. He should be in S tier. I like Taeyong's style more tho, he has is own style
I think Ten's in A Tier fits because I do agree with the OP that Ten lacks in dynamics and his own techniques in dancing. However, I agree with what said about Ten being more versatile and he portrays his emotions in his dancing amazingly. I think he fits in both S+A, along with Taeyong and Shotaro.

as a dancer for the past 10 years (in both Indian classical and various other dance forms) here's my opinion:
S tier: Taeyong and Ten- both of them are amazing dancers with artistic visions (you can see that from the extra flair they add to their performances and their personal choreographies)
A tier: Jisung
B tier: yuta, mark, yangyang, Hendery (I don't know why but most people fail to notice henry's clean and sharp movements and it's rarely messy, easily one of the cleanest dancers in nct but could work on adding power)
C tier: Renjun and Haechan, Jeno
D tier: jaehyun, jungwoo, Winwin, Johnny, jaemin, Lucas, Xiaojun (Xiaojun is a fantastic performer in a way where he expresses himself well but he can leave moves unfinished and looking a little messy
E tier: kun, Chenle
F tier: doyoung and taeil
I didn't add sungchan and shotaro here because I fell like I need to see more of their work to really decide.

Shotaro was apart of a dance crew in Japan I believe and has a ton of vids of him dancing. Even on the NCT pages of IG and YT they upload him dancing choreos from every other group and it seems he learns them EXTREMELY quick and makes it look like he’s actually apart of the groups. I mean hell when Tae was out he learned the choreo for 7th sense in such a short amount of time for their online concert. So imo he’s definitely top 5 dancers in NCT even as a rookie 🤷🏾

If this was a "the type of dancer I prefer" video, then is completely fine. But if this was ranking based on who is "actually a good dancer" Then this video is off. Putting Jisung and Ten below Taeyong is not reasonable. Whether someone is a good dancer is NOT subjective and is suppose to be objective. Technique, bodylines, body control etc have objective standards and they are not something you can have a preference in. Also saying Ten doesn't have his own technique simply does not make sense. What do you even mean their own technique? Technique is a technique, it doesn't specifically get invented and owned by one person. Ten subjectively has the better techniques such as good control of power, and he is the only in NCT that actually has his own standout style of dancing. You can prefer someone's stage presence but whether someone is a good dancer or not, is not something you can have a preference in. Ten is THE main dancer of all of NCT, he has been taking care of the dance breaks and leading dances even pre-debut. He was the one that represented NCT in SuperM's dancing video. So, really, unless this is only a preference ranking, there is no room to argue that Ten is not the best dancer in NCT.

coming from a dancer here I feel like Hendery has to be in the B tier. skill wise he's definitely up there with the B tier and he is a better dancer than Renjun and Jeno. He's not a dancer who puts too much power into moves, instead he has the cleanest and sharpest execution of steps. He has got really good technique and his isolations beat out most members. He's very skill focused and less performance oriented (what I mean is that he could add more charisma to his performance). I also think that we can't asses sungchans dancing yet, we need to see more from him.
Shotaro is top tier, he's literally been dancing for fifteen years and taught dance to students lol he was also one of the best students at EXPG, that's why he debuted without any training (or barely)

i rlly enjoyed ur video and my comment isn’t trying to be rude… but it’s rlly interesting seeing someone else’s opinion because as a competitive dancer who’s been dancing since I was 3 ( mostly ballet, modern, jazz etc ) I disagree with so much of ur list haha….I love taeyong and I think he’s amazing but i personally don’t like his dancing style at all haha… my top three in S tier would be ten, HAECHAN (I think he’s incredible) and mark :) loved the video tho
Personally I feel like the vocalists ex. dodo (okay but my guy was in The 7th Sense), kun, taeil may underdance/lack technique (?) is because they need to worry more about high notes etc. if you get what I mean. As for Winwin he'd defo be higher if ncts well style was closer to what he excels in, one thing i've noticed is because he's used to slower and more hmm graceful movements he isn't very used to very quick and impactful choreo, i'm very proud of him though for how much he has adapted and improved.
i think the same bout kun and taeil, most of vocalist in kpop focus more on their vocals than on their dancing, for example jongho from ateez, youngjae from got7, jinki from shinee, and i think thats okay. And bout winwin i completely agree, its sad that he isnt able to show his massive skills but as u said he has improved so much, everyone should be proud of him

There really are people who think that Shotaro is above Ten, even if the former has no range. While Ten has the range, and is great in any genre he dances to.

B: Renjun, Chenle, Jungwoo, Sungchan (A if we got more choreo from him but he preformed 90s Love so well even tho he’s a rookie) ,Johnny (he gets center a lot so I feel he’s underrated)
C: Kun (look below at what I said about Doyoung and Taeil)
D: Doyoung and Taeil (they’re VOCALIST they aren’t supposed to focus too much on dance)
Added notes: •I feel as if NCT Dream and WayV get the most complicated choreos so that’s why their members are mostly ranked high
•NOT A SINGLE MEMBER OF NCT IS A BAD OR TERRIBLE DANCER, NCT as a whole has some of the most complicated choreos in Kpop so they’re all more than competent dancers
•Their choreographer said they all learn quickly but Ten, Mark and Taeyong are the quickest. The only reason why I feel as if Ten is better than Tae is because Tae doesn’t really dance in a elegant sense but Ten was trained to dance gracefully and hip hopish (he was taught Chinese traditional dance). BUT Tae imo is the same as Hoshi from SVT meaning that even though they don’t really focus on one style of dance, they are EXTREMELY impressive dancers and are the Jack of all trades. Mark would be higher in S if he danced more graceful and elegant choreos but he’s mainly hip hop oriented.
•There’s a reason why Taeyong, Ten, Mark and Lucas were specifically chosen to represent SM and NCT/WayV in SuperM
• There’s also a reason why Lucas, YangYang, Hendery, WinWin, Mark, Tae, Jisung, Shotaro, Jeno, Jaemin are main and lead dancers
• Johnny, Chenle, Renjun, Yuta and Jungwoo are massively underrated dancers

Actually, Yuta isn't underrated dancer, a lot of czeenies knew that he is amazing dancer. Yuta being Black on Black center (if u watch the performances, then you can see that only NCT best dancers get that position). Also when NCT127 absent, Yuta is the one who backup their dance position (usually with Mark)

Terrible list, not choreographer said mark was a top 3 dancer in nct and was the fastest to learn coreo
haechan is easily in the top 5 of dancers that have good lines in nct. his angles are consistently good. both haechan and yuta don't have underdancing tendencies. ten is easily the best dancer in nct (i'm excluding shotaro here bc i havent seen enough of him dancing, if i had to rank them id put them on par with each other for technique but shotaro would rank lower based on facial expressions) based on technique alone but on top of that he has incredible stage presence and facial expressions. he's great at communicating through dance. he's easily one of the best dancers in kpop. chenle's weaknesses are more his angles than his fluidity - he's generally good at more fluid movements. jaemin does have some issues with control especially with torso isolations but i wouldnt call his footwork incredible either.
like i get that its your opinion of which dancers you like better than the others and thats fine but imo you shouldnt pretend to be doing any kind of analysis with the pros/cons in that case because a lot of what you said is not true. haechans angles arent bad. that's a fact. its fine that you prefer some dancers over others but i think you should just say what you like or dislike about their dancing bc the pros and cons are not objective

Why?
Cause they have super different styles.
Everyone can see it in baby don't stop.
Ten is more fluid, taeyong is more mechanical (no hate on this, the mechanical thing is perfect for nct's choreos but baby don't stop is veeeeeeeeeery different).
Taeyong is very organized in his dancing, he makes HARD and confident movements, has a good breathing method, amazing angles and his dancing is 99% hip hop influenced (even tho he can dance very well in other styles), this (i personally think) has shaped his whole style, he has speed and power but I think in terms of fluidity (which he has) ten has a LOOT MORE, basically 98% of the choreos ty has danced to have hard movements and gestures in it. (same with shotaro which grew up mostly with hip hop, but I can't say much cuz we haven't seen him a lot)
Taeyong has confidence and experience on the stage, all these things make him the dancer he is today after years of practice and he's absolutely incredible, his stage presence ALWAYS stands out in the stages.
Ten is another thing.
Ten can be very organized in his dance, but also "messy".
Ten has the capability of never being the same, never being boring.
If you look at the kick back stages you can see ten always changing a little part of the choreo, he has also said that he doesn't like to always do the same movements, that he loves to change every time.
Ten has danced a lot of styles, hip hop, modern, a bit of ballet, contemporary, ecc..
This thing made him comfortable enough to try everything, he has hip hop choreos, he has a modern one with winwin, a half tip tap half modern stage in the program "hit the stage " and many others.
He can make ballet movements (very soft and gentle) and a second after hip hop. (moonwalk's bridge is an example).
While taeyong tends to have more hip hop based choreographies, ten knows how to dance in many styles.
For example, we could put Mark and taeyong or shotaro and taeyong in the same category.
But for me personally these two can't be put in the same category.

Ten might be less popular than Taeyong since NCT 127's exposure is far wider than of WayV's... but with dancing prowess, Ten belongs to the Top5 in Kpop industry... let us do him some justice.

ik this is a preference but i just wanted to say that haechan has really great angles actually if you see the analysis video of his by ballet dancer. he is very versatile too since he has a learnt multiple of dances and uses it to his advantage by utilising it and shaping his performance to look captivating.
