I'd love for you to make a video about renjun because seriously his dancing is so underrated (like hes considered a "lesser" dancer in nct but lbr he could be the main dancer in any other group) and so influenced by classical principles just like haechan's (his pirouettes give me life)

It’s funny because as a singer I‘ve noticed a similar thing with his singing. He‘s able to mix and transition between his chest and headvoice effortlessly. Every high note he sings seems to flow out of him instead of him trying to reach for it. The agility he has is crazy. I feel like overall he‘s always made the impression on me of being flowy and elegant like he‘s walking on air and that’s something I rarely see in singers and dancers. He‘s definitely one of my faves and deserves for his talents to be shown.

Haechan makes dancing look easy even though it is not. His style makes you want to learn how to dance. He’s inviting you to join him. On the other hand, some members dance with precision and power that make the audience in awe but at the same time indirectly discouraging the audience from dancing because it looks “too hard.” Hence, the idol mentality of being unreachable. Although dancing really is not for everybody, I like to enjoy my few minutes of delusion that I can dance as well by watching Haechan dance with ease and elegance.
Its crazy because Haechan makes it look easy but when you go to do it yourself its even harder than the ones that just looked harder like damn Haechan why you tricking us like that

He's actually one of my fave mc in nct vids. Witty and gives quick remarks that are funny but not so offensive. He should become an MC in the future like teukie.
I'm a figure skater. I completely agree with this and I wish I could talk about it more... Hyuck's dancing style is my favorite. On top of this great technique, I really love his facial expressions.
i’m a figure skater too and the way he dances reminds me of the fluidity that ice dancing requires. so like if he ever wanted to be an ice dancer, i need a partner lol
@@hazahae I did competitive dance sport and I always thought ballet, figure skaters and competitive dance sports emphasized in fluidity, elegance and techniques to make those difficult stunts looks easy. And I'm really amazed that Haechan displayed those traits.
Just like how SM vocal enthusiasts always remind other stans that improper vocal technique can ruin their voices. I hope people remember that improper dance techniques can ruin their body.
At first when I was watching Cherry bomb I was like "Wow why does Haechan have to do the drop? When you have Yuta or Jaehyun who are lead dancers" then I realized with this video that he did the best and actually has the safest technique.

Haechan has no idea how talented he really is at dancing. Anytime someone praise he gets genuinely shocked and when someone told him that he’s their inspiration to dance he said dance was easy so it’s no big deal. Easy. Can you believe him?? Haechan dance competitive dance sport and traditional korean dance when he was a kid. Those fluidity and techniques was because of his great dance foundation.
Oh, that’s surprising since competition dancers aren’t exactly known for great technique or strength. Did he study Korean dance academically? I doubt recreational study would give him a good foundation in movement, although it is possible.

And he mentioned in US interview that his favorite reality show is Dancing with the Stars cause he used to do dance sport back then. I'm not sure what is Haechan's winning piece but he can definitely salsa judging from how he move his hips. Though, I'm pretty sure he would nail tango and waltz. As for korean dance he listed it in his SM Rookie profile, he said competitive dance sport and traditional dance is his specialty. But he never gave further details about it. You won't won first place if you got no techniques and you have to develop upper body strength to be able to execute those lifts.

@@shakyraindrop It's called competitive dance sport. Dance sport is one of our subject in school for PE. I think its been a while since they used the word ballroom dance academically and Dance sports is the new term for competitive ballroom dance. They changed the term to make it more official and easier for aspiring competitive olympic dancer.
That explains a lot. Ballroom dance technique is focused in posture, lines, footwork and turns. Lots of turns. I saw once a video of Haechan doing pirouettes and was amazed since I didn't know he had this kind of training. Everything makes sense now.
I always said haechan was gonna mature into a young man capable of destroying us all. My friends were skeptical. You know what converted them? A DANCE FANCAM OF HAECHAN. That's when I realised the boy doesnt get nearly as much credit for dancing as he deserves. He is also one of my favourite dancers in NCT.
Speaking of balance, I watched the members individual fancams of Superhuman. I noticed that Taeil's first line before the chorus, Haechan's the only one who does a full spin. His center of gravity is impeccable. I showed this to my dance coach and he was so amazed. Thank you for making this! I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who thought that Haechan's dance style is smooth and beautiful. It's so sad that not many Czennies appreciate his dancing skills when he's one of the best.

@@llma_0 honestly? Me too. I have a feeling that he would absolutely excel as a figure skater, he has excellent control over his body and knows how to spend his energy in movements efficiently, which is something even experienced figure skaters sometimes struggle with.
TRUE! His spins are usually so clean and smooth, all the way to the end without losing form or balance!! It's like he thinks it through and makes his body move intelligently without even realizing it. He's a genius!

I am not a dancer, but I can see Donghyuck's dance is way different from the other members. He got a lot of control and elegant in his move. He make his dance look easy and smooth. His didn't used a lot of power like Mark, Yuta or Taeyong. That make his move more sophisticated.
Yeap the way he moves are dangerously attractive and maybe that's also the reason why he ALWAYS have a good and stable performance (both vocal+dance) on stage because he uses less power to his dancing so he can also focus on singing too. I mean have you ever realize that he rarely have a bad performance even if their performance are live? I always wondering why tho 😆

It's okay. That era already over for Haechan. I think he's one of the most popular member in NCT in my opinion and I'm really thankful and grateful for that. If you came having a similar experiences as me, yk during 2016 and 2017 or sm rookies Thai showcase, he was sad about these things and I was so devastated that no one really talked/commented about Haechan/Donghyuck and only refers him as a brat and I was like so so *HE'S MORE THAN THAT!!!!* 😭😭😭 But really thank goodness, now I think he's in a good place.

Ya I was just about to say that all the points that were in correlation to ballet, Haechan can relate cause he did ballet when he was younger. Not only ballet but he learnt other dances as well.
Around 7:04 when their explaining how ballet ties along to heachen’s dancing if u look at Jonny’s upper body and heachen’s upper body u can really see the difference especially at the shoulders, heachen is able to keep his shoulders still and only move his arms while Jonny moves his shoulders up and down with his arms and it definitely makes a big difference in how the dance looks and the cleanest of it.
if you will also look at winwin, you will see that he dont move his shoulders as much, like haechan. the difference between them is explained on shaky raindrop's winwin episode.

I am not even a dancer, but I have always thought that Haechan has a very unique way of dancing. His movements look smooth, elegant and flawless. In addition I think that he has found a great way to show the music through his dancing...position of arms, balance and “lightness“ of his feet. I feel like his dancing compliments his voice, because it also sounds very soft, smooth and elegant. Haechan is one of the best well rounded Idols in Kpop. The balance of dancing, singing and variety skills (charisma, entertainment...) of Haechan are on point.
That's what I also noticed towards haechan's dancing.He has such great control and his dancing is clean and smooth.Plus that aura he has when his dancing.He looks so amazing when dancing that it makes me wanna dance too.
I've been a dancer my entire life but I'm very different than you. I do have ballet experience but my "specialty", and what I have the most experience in, is hip hop. With my training, I understand everything that you're saying from a ballet standpoint but it also makes a hell of a lot of sense from a hip hop standpoint. Hip hop is usually seen as less technical but when you dive into it, its actually super complex because a lot of it is really awkward or unnatural positions of the body(similar to ballet). Balance and efficiency are SO incredibly important in hip hop because it tends to be more powerful and explosive. While hip hop and ballet are both very exhausting styles, most people exhaust themselves in hip hop because they flail around with not much control. Haechan, however, doesn't do that. All his movements are controlled, but still powerful, which is something that's really hard to learn, especially in hip hop(in my opinion). I've always known that Haechan is an amazing dancer but I never took a closer look as you have here. It was really interesting to watch, thank you for making this.
What you’re saying reminds me of Lay from EXO, he’s also a dancer rooted in hiphop and he had his meme-like returning comment on Idol Producer where he kept saying the trainees needed Balance😅 idk if you are a fan but he is a good example of combining hiphop + balance imo, like in the dance for Give Me A Chance
Haechan is an amazing dancer and people are finally catching up to it. His individual fancams are starting to have the most views and what’s crazy is he does this while having some crazy stable vocal lines. His dance technique is so good and mixed with his vocals he’s really just perfection. Can’t wait to see his further growth (cuz he just gets better and better) and all his future opportunities. Can we please get a Haechan dance cover already SM???? 🙌🙌🙌

as a fellow ballet dancer i love that this video combines nct and ballet (which we usually don't see very often int he hip-hop heavy kpop world!) i basically agree with every point you made in the video, but i also am looking forward to a winwin-centered video too since he is the only one in the entire group who had a formal education in traditional chinese dance. it's interesting to see how those elements translate over into his dancing as a whole. thank you for this video shaky raindrop!!!!
oh this is really interesting, i just recently started getting into nct and what really drew me to haechan (like he's basically my 2nd bias in nct) was the way he moved his body, even when he's not on stage dancing, he moves so beautifully/gracefully. he's just kinda mesmerizing

Haechan is smart. He's an intelligent genius. And sometimes he uses those smarts on things other than dancing and singing. Like the time he put salt into Sprite and soy sauce into Coke and made his hyungs drink them.

using your arms to jump is a technique that is used everywhere! we use it in volleyball when we approach to hit. that momentum gives the correct height and timing. it's also super prevalent in basketball and in gymnastics. aligning your pelvis with your feet is another thing we use in gymnastics. doing backbends and back walkovers are pretty scary at first, especially if you're just blindly freefalling. the trick is to keep your hips aligned over your feet for as long as possible so you don't have to fall very far. it also makes the landing easier on your wrists. the same goes for getting back up: i always focus on driving my pelvis forward because its the center of my body and once its aligned, my torso will follow naturally. great video :D im glad someone appreciates hyuck's dancing at a technical level because oh lord it is BEAUTIFUL
Haechan's dancing is just so incredible, and im so thankful to you for making this video explaining it. He has amazing control over his moves, and what i love most is his dance style. Many idols dance powerfully (which is commendable in its own right) but Hyuck is unique because he dances more elegantly, while exaggerating the points that he feels he should highlight. Hyuck doesnt just execute the choreo for the sake of doing it, he tries his best to actually embody the music and SHOW it. He also is very sensitive to the details, like for example in cherry bomb when Taeyong says "haha" Hyuck smirks and mouths along and when mark says "head shot, pop", Hyuck literally throws his head back so hard you can almost feel ur own head going "pop!" Of course, i do feel like he has his down points as well (as all humans do) but there is no need for pointing out his flaws on a video which is celebrating his skill.
I've been observing all the members of nct in dancing since debut, and haechan has always been my favorite dancer. You're right, his style is elegant and i got to fully understand his technique in BOOM era, especially in his dance video from Weekly Idol (the one where he danced with Jisung). The way he moves his torso and shoulder is something that has to be innate in a dancer who has that kind of execution. As a dancer, this is how i wanted to execute my movements but couldn't 😅, i always tend to appear more of a Jeno/Jaemin style, clean and hardhitting.
Same here I showed haechan's videos to my dance teacher and he said even with lots of training this type of elegance is hard to get ... And here I m still working to achieve that
Idk anything about dance but Haechan's dance is what made me notice him after all this time of just only paying attention to stage presence(Taeyong). I always noticed something different about him compared to everyone else I've seen so far(including other groups). So I watched a few fancams of him and was mesmerized.

Everyone in NCT are mad talented but Haechan is that kind of person once you laid your eyes on him you can't stop kskdkd everything about him is captivating, his voice, his dancing and his stage presence... I do have one bias, and ofc another member like taeyong will make me look at him being the powerful center he is, but once I see Haechan I can't see nothing else. I'm addicted to him.
Figure skater here. It’s actually impressive how he delays the turn on his jump (first example) Even in skating it is something we have to train, to snap our arms and legs in to increase the speed WHILE IN the jump but he makes it so effortless it’s amazing

He is rly great at dancing!! In wake up, there's this certain part where they do this footwork kind of thing (idk how to call it i'm not a pro in dancing lmao), and I've noticed that he does that part vry smoothly compared to the others. Nevertheless, all of them are great dancers!!

See, when she talks about how he landed, it is actually reminiscent of how you are supposed to fall in martial arts, and any good martial artist would follow his technique. Does anyone know if he has much experience in that? Now that I think about it, a lot of the things that she is calling out, actually match up with well-trained technique in Taekwondo and Judo.
Aha! Recently became a fan of NCT. Before knowing names or skills or anything, this guy stood out. My eyes would always spot him simply by his movements. Later I kept seeing praise for TY or Mark (totally deserved but) ...and thought maybe that one of those members was him. Nope. So, for me, I specifically searched to find out who Haechan was. He just has something. I agree with this analysis 💯 %.
I used to figure skate and i 100% agree with everything, he uses his arms in the best way possible and doesn't force his legs to do all the work and that's most likely why he is such a stable vocalist when they perform live

There's dif types of intelligence beyond being brainy, like spatial intelligence, etc and haechan definitely has a natural thing for it. He picks many different things up easily because he's able to naturally deconstruct the hows without thinking and it makes me so proud.
I am a dancer myself and when I watched Haechan for the first time, when he debuted, he really caught me. Especially his dancing skills and the reason why he is my bias.

I'm not a dancer but Haechan always makes it looks effortless! His dance is very smooth, fluid, elegant, graceful & he really has a great control over his body! Honestly he's one of my fav dancers & vocalists in NCT!
the “falling down” move in cherry bomb is basically engrained in my body as it’s used quite a lot by my dance teacher in contemporary and is sometimes even done without hands. (it’s basically the one thing i can relate with haechan lol) Haechan is a very smart dancer.
Actually，Haechan mentioned he did learn ballet when he was young. I think that might be one of the reasons he could keep his body well-balanced while dancing.

Turns out you were right about the ballet part. Mark recently said that Haechan is good at ballet, and he also learned contemporary, jazz, sports dance, etc. He has mastered many techniques, and it definitely shows.
He did ballet for quite some time and tested out different styles of dance so I guess he got all the stuff that worked for him to be this elegant and good at technique

I love everyone but I agree that Haechan has the cleanest move ever, I always love his parts in the dance because he moves so smooth. It’s funny because as a singer I‘ve noticed a similar thing with his singing. He‘s able to mix and transition between his chest and headvoice effortlessly. Every high note he sings seems to flow out of him instead of him trying to reach for it. The agility he has is crazy. I feel like overall he‘s always made the impression on me of being flowy and elegant like he‘s walking on air and that’s something I rarely see in singers and dancers. He‘s definitely one of my faves and deserves for his talents to be shown.

Haechan makes dancing look easy even though it is not. His style makes you want to learn how to dance. He’s inviting you to join him.
On the other hand, some members dance with precision and power that make the audience in awe but at the same time indirectly discouraging the audience from dancing because it looks “too hard.” Hence, the idol mentality of being unreachable.
Although dancing really is not for everybody, I like to enjoy my few minutes of delusion that I can dance as well by watching Haechan dance with ease and elegance.

Haechan dance competitive dance sport and traditional korean dance when he was a kid. Those fluidity and techniques was because of his great dance foundation.
Oh, that’s surprising since competition dancers aren’t exactly known for great technique or strength. Did he study Korean dance academically? I doubt recreational study would give him a good foundation in movement, although it is possible.

The technique in dance sports are quite difficult too, the lifts, side steps and twirl. You won't won first place if you got no techniques and you have to develop upper body strength to be able to execute those lifts.

I think its been a while since they used the word ballroom dance academically and Dance sports is the new term for competitive ballroom dance. They changed the term to make it more official and easier for aspiring competitive olympic dancer.
That explains a lot. Ballroom dance technique is focused in posture, lines, footwork and turns. Lots of turns. I saw once a video of Haechan doing pirouettes and was amazed since I didn't know he had this kind of training. Everything makes sense now.
I always said haechan was gonna mature into a young man capable of destroying us all. My friends were skeptical. You know what converted them? A DANCE FANCAM OF HAECHAN. That's when I realised the boy doesnt get nearly as much credit for dancing as he deserves. He is also one of my favourite dancers in NCT.

Speaking of balance, I watched the members individual fancams of Superhuman. I noticed that Taeil's first line before the chorus, Haechan's the only one who does a full spin. His center of gravity is impeccable. I showed this to my dance coach and he was so amazed. Thank you for making this! I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who thought that Haechan's dance style is smooth and beautiful. It's so sad that not many Czennies appreciate his dancing skills when he's one of the best.

I am not a dancer, but I can see Donghyuck's dance is way different from the other members. He got a lot of control and elegant in his move. He make his dance look easy and smooth. His didn't used a lot of power like Mark, Yuta or Taeyong. That make his move more sophisticated.

Around 7:04 when their explaining how ballet ties along to heachen’s dancing if u look at Jonny’s upper body and heachen’s upper body u can really see the difference especially at the shoulders, heachen is able to keep his shoulders still and only move his arms while Jonny moves his shoulders up and down with his arms and it definitely makes a big difference in how the dance looks and the cleanest of it.

I am not even a dancer, but I have always thought that Haechan has a very unique way of dancing. His movements look smooth, elegant and flawless.
In addition I think that he has found a great way to show the music through his dancing...position of arms, balance and “lightness“ of his feet.
I feel like his dancing compliments his voice, because it also sounds very soft, smooth and elegant.
Haechan is one of the best well rounded Idols in Kpop. The balance of dancing, singing and variety skills (charisma, entertainment...) of Haechan are on point.

I've been a dancer my entire life but I'm very different than you. I do have ballet experience but my "specialty", and what I have the most experience in, is hip hop. With my training, I understand everything that you're saying from a ballet standpoint but it also makes a hell of a lot of sense from a hip hop standpoint. Hip hop is usually seen as less technical but when you dive into it, its actually super complex because a lot of it is really awkward or unnatural positions of the body(similar to ballet). Balance and efficiency are SO incredibly important in hip hop because it tends to be more powerful and explosive. While hip hop and ballet are both very exhausting styles, most people exhaust themselves in hip hop because they flail around with not much control. Haechan, however, doesn't do that. All his movements are controlled, but still powerful, which is something that's really hard to learn, especially in hip hop(in my opinion). I've always known that Haechan is an amazing dancer but I never took a closer look as you have here. It was really interesting to watch, thank you for making this.

Additional info, since Haechan don't have any idea about kpop until he was 12 before he accidentally watched Shinee's song on tv. He's not into hiphop and during SM Rookie Ten mentioned he used to teach Haechan dance or he probably mentored Haechan. Ten listed in his daily schedules in SM Rookie profile that he spent hours everyday teaching Donghyuck dance.

now i know why i always find haechan mesmerizing when he dances
using your arms to jump is a technique that is used everywhere! we use it in volleyball when we approach to hit. that momentum gives the correct height and timing. it's also super prevalent in basketball and in gymnastics. aligning your pelvis with your feet is another thing we use in gymnastics. doing backbends and back walkovers are pretty scary at first, especially if you're just blindly freefalling. the trick is to keep your hips aligned over your feet for as long as possible so you don't have to fall very far. it also makes the landing easier on your wrists. the same goes for getting back up: i always focus on driving my pelvis forward because its the center of my body and once its aligned, my torso will follow naturally.

Yeah that's a good way to put it. I haven't done gymnastics but I've done acro a few times.
Haechan's dancing is just so incredible, and im so thankful to you for making this video explaining it. He has amazing control over his moves, and what i love most is his dance style. Many idols dance powerfully (which is commendable in its own right) but Hyuck is unique because he dances more elegantly, while exaggerating the points that he feels he should highlight. Hyuck doesnt just execute the choreo for the sake of doing it, he tries his best to actually embody the music and SHOW it. He also is very sensitive to the details, like for example in cherry bomb when Taeyong says "haha" Hyuck smirks and mouths along and when mark says "head shot, pop", Hyuck literally throws his head back so hard you can almost feel ur own head going "pop!" Of course, i do feel like he has his down points as well (as all humans do) but there is no need for pointing out his flaws on a video which is celebrating his skill.
I've been observing all the members of nct in dancing since debut, and haechan has always been my favorite dancer. You're right, his style is elegant and i got to fully understand his technique in BOOM era, especially in his dance video from Weekly Idol (the one where he danced with Jisung). The way he moves his torso and shoulder is something that has to be innate in a dancer who has that kind of execution. As a dancer, this is how i wanted to execute my movements but couldn't 😅, i always tend to appear more of a Jeno/Jaemin style, clean and hardhitting.

Idk anything about dance but Haechan's dance is what made me notice him after all this time of just only paying attention to stage presence(Taeyong). I've been stanning a lot of main vocal in SM and I noticed that Haechan, Baekhyun and Taeyeon dances always looks so effortless. Yet it has impact.

See, when she talks about how he landed, it is actually reminiscent of how you are supposed to fall in martial arts, and any good martial artist would follow his technique. Does anyone know if he has much experience in that? Now that I think about it, a lot of the things that she is calling out, actually match up with well-trained technique in Taekwondo and Judo.

Aha! Recently became a fan of NCT. Before knowing names or skills or anything, this guy stood out. My eyes would always spot him simply by his movements. Later I kept seeing praise for TY or Mark (totally deserved but) ...and thought maybe that one of those members was him. Nope. So, for me, I specifically searched to find out who Haechan was. He just has something. I agree with this analysis 💯 %.

I used to figure skate and i 100% agree with everything, he uses his arms in the best way possible and doesn't force his legs to do all the work and that's most likely why he is such a stable vocalist when they perform live

There's dif types of intelligence beyond being brainy, like spatial intelligence, etc and haechan definitely has a natural thing for it. He picks many different things up easily because he's able to naturally deconstruct the hows without thinking and it makes me so proud.

i've noticed everything you've said about haechan's dancing!!!!! omg but i never had any official sort of terms to really explain why i like the way he dances so much haha i've only danced hiphop and other styles casually but never learned the terms or certain techniques

Hyuck's dancing is my favourite out of all nct members. It's undeniable that all members are good at dancing in their own way. But hyuck's dancing is just so fluid and flows so beautifully and it's just so breathtaking to watch. I really love him :')💚💚

I'm not a dancer but Haechan always makes it looks effortless! His dance is very smooth, fluid, elegant, graceful & he really has a great control over his body! Honestly he's one of my fav dancers & vocalists in NCT!
the “falling down” move in cherry bomb is basically engrained in my body as it’s used quite a lot by my dance teacher in contemporary and is sometimes even done without hands. (it’s basically the one thing i can relate with haechan lol) Haechan is a very smart dancer.

Actually，Haechan mentioned he did learn ballet when he was young. I think that might be one of the reasons he could keep his body well-balanced while dancing.

Turns out you were right about the ballet part. Mark recently said that Haechan is good at ballet, and he also learned contemporary, jazz, sports dance, etc. He has mastered many techniques, and it definitely shows.

He did ballet for quite some time and tested out different styles of dance so I guess he got all the stuff that worked for him to be this elegant and good at technique
I always think that his dance style so effortless yet very powerfull and smooth. I love his style. I think he doesn't try hard to look powerful as others (doesn't mean to discredit others), but his dance so mesmerizing. It's same when i saw superM videos. Ten and taemin looks so effortless but very smooth and elegant like haechan did. I really love haechan and ten

I love everyone but I agree that Haechan has the cleanest move ever, I always love his parts in the dance because he moves so smooth. Im so glad I finally watched, Haechan is definitely my bias in this era 😂 On Cherry bomb it was TY, Empathy era Doyoung and in Superhuman era is definitely Haechan! His voice and moves are godly!!!
