I totally agree with you. I paid full price. The instant I touched the throttle, Its no joke. I jumped it and it flew so true. Best RC I've ever bought. Even when it tumbled at 45mph, have never bought a replacement part. So much fun! Well done again, Losi! I still have my JRX2😁

I love my 2.0. I also bought a v1 and took it apart for parts. Lots is interchangable. More than enough to make it worth buying. I’m happy with mine too. I chucked the radio and installed my px7.
@Clayton Thanks for watching! Chucking the radio is a standard now with most of these RTR's, sad. Not a bad idea with the V1 pick up. Hopefully you got a good deal on it.

And I mean I absolutely love Arrma products (my first rig was a Typhon 6S, then Granite & the Rock Rey) but with that being said if I ever was to spend the big bucks, this without a shadow of a doubt would be the BIG BOY TOY I would go to. Hi, thanks for the great review. As a result I've picked up mine yesterday. It's just stunning. However, after using it for the 1st day I allready ran into a problem with the lipo's and I'm trying to find out what happened. I bought it with 4 new lipo's Gen Ace Pro Bashing 8000mah 4S 80C. This was a special offer and they told me that they always sell this kind of lipo's with this car. This morning I've charged the lipo's for the first time. All went find. Drove the car, after 10-15 minutes ESC cutoff happened, switched over to the second set of lipo's and run them until the esc cutoff happened again. I went home, checked the lipo cell voltages and noticed that everyhting was find and all cells were still above the minimum 3.2V. So I charged them again, when out for a second run and depleted both sets again. When I came home I started checking the lipo's again. one set was fine but the second set is a problem. The 1ste lipo has one cell that has dropped to 2.36V and the second lipo on has cell voltages between 2.45v and 2.89V. So now I'm wondering what could be wrong. Do I have just 2 faulty lipo's ? Or does the (by default) medium esc cutoff setting is to low for this kind of lipo's ? I didn't have a R/C car in more then 10 years but I red the manuals, checked everything twice so I don't think I've made any error here ... Any thoughts ?
@Filip Boute Thanks for watching! Doesn't sound like you did any thing wrong. Just to confirm you are doing a balance charge at a 2C rate on the packs, correct? I'm not sure on the charge rate on those packs but you can't go wrong with 2C. It will take longer but better safe than sorry. Next I was going to say the lipo cutoff or even the temp cutover kicking in. Check your temps just to be safe. This thing is a voltage hog. Even though you are running 8000mah packs your C rating is a little less than the recommended. Losi is recommending 100C packs 2 3S or 2 4S. If you are running anywhere with high traction that would lessen the time a bit. Full throttle pulls anything like that will drop the run time. The irregular voltage is normal after a run, I would be concern with that voltage if it was after a charge or after storage. Hope I helped a bit.
I love mine... I changed the brake setting to maximum on the ESC and it made a massive difference. I also have the mechanical set to install in the future.
Ready Set RC maybe you can help me with the mechanical brake install, I’m a jet turbine guy and bought this for a bit of fun on non-flying days. I have a bag of bits for the mechanical break set but no instructions #completelylost! Nobody has done a TH-cam video on a mechanical brake installation so you’d be the first 👍 From what I can see the SPMS9010 servo is the recommended one... any assistance much appreciated. Andy

Ready Set RC.... absolutely! This FOX and the DB Pro Fox are the best looking RCs out there. and Lucas Oil is not far off. generally LOSI make beautiful RCs. They don’t just splatter paint like that other RC brand. 😏

@@puddleduckist Not sure on the smart batteries. Never bought any yet. Always want to but I don't run IC5 in most of my rigs. But if it's anything like the SRR, it's always a challenge with the wire for the Powerhobby hard packs I run.

@Fred Waldrop Thank you, much appreciated. Man that is a hard one. I never like to tell a man how to spend his money. For me the hard one would be that DBXLe 2.0 and the Mojave unless you are just looking for something different then the SBR is back in😁
Fred Waldrop go with the Mojave if you dont want to lug around so much weight. Mojave will bash better. But dbxle looks better and that weight that is a negative while transporting becomes a positive when driving it around. As it’s fun to hear and feel that weight run around and fly by close to you. SBR is older and hard to work on. But all this is just my opinion
@RichardJWZ No idea on a 3.0. It may be a while for the 3.0. Took them a bit to come out with the 2.0 gasser and the 5ive-T 2.0. With the Super Lasernut coming soon too.
Good review. I have a Kraton 8S and someone wants to trade me his DBXL-E 2.0 and I am torn if I should trade or not. I like that the Losi has a true 1/5 scale motor and Servo.
@DonnyFrusciante III Thank you! For me when this and the K8S was released, it was just how this was laid out and and true 5th scale setup just sold me. I'm not sure if you have a K8S 1.0 or the 1.5 but if it was the 1.0 I think it's a no brainer make the trade😂🤣
@@ReadySetRC I have the latest K8S, only a couple months old and it has the newer DX3 TX and 20 million center diff "fluid". i have added a M2C chassis on it, as well. I am not an enthusiast like you and just started in RC two months ago. My end goal is to just have one great off road truck and one on road car. Obviously, I love the K8S...I don't think many people would ever call the K8S and hunk of junk....but I also like the look of the DBXLE. They both look similar as far as durability...and i don't really jump the trucks, I mostly go to a construction site and run over mounds of dirt and maybe make tiny tiny jumps off a side of dirt, which I'd bet both of them would handle that sort of thing the same? haha it sounds like it may just come down to looks for me, since I am not an enthusiast, I'd bet I couldn't really tell a difference in how either of them drive...but i could be wrong, maybe the DBXLE is a much better drive than the K8S.

@@ReadySetRC @rc clan well...I traded the K8S for the Losi. I hope I don't regret it because someone else just told me his Losi has been nothing but problems. But, I was BLOWN AWAY by how much better the steering is in the Losi compared to the K8S. The freaking Losi handled like a 1/8 scale truck, it was amazing when I test drove it. The losi was stock...but he did give me several spare parts, including 4 brand new shock assemblies with shocks and all, A-arms, hinge pins, and other parts.
@@LulaPlays You are going to love it. Sounds like you will drive it like I drive mine. If so it will hold up well. Did you see my video where I hit the ramps? It can take it. It flies well so hard to really get this thing to go wonky in the air.
Just price this one out at hobby store 1450. Including batteries and smart charger. I know this video is 11 months old do you still feel same way about this buggy

What is it about the stock transmitter you don't like? The reason I'm asking is I'll be buying this within the next month or so and at $1500+ (including batts and charger), I really don't want to spend more.
@blueknight No issues with the stock transmitter. I've used the DX2e in the past, no issues with the performance. I own a Spektrum Pro transmitter. Since most Losi's come with a Spektrum DX receiver, I bind all of my Losi's up to it regardless of how good the stock Spektrum transmitter.
@8bit Flea I do remove the cage since it is on a hinge and the wheels and tires since I like to scrub those individually but that's it. Everything stays on. Winter time I don't wash this since I don't have the space but warmer months, I wash this outside. I have a video where I show my process. It's a smaller RC but same process for all. @Brentan Wiemken YES! For my bashing style I would chose this over the Outcast 8S. Size, electronics and components used in this is a true 5th scale and that was a quantifier for me and why there is a difference in price (I would imagine the livery has something to do with it too). As big and as heavy as this buggy is it doesn't drive like it. It drives just like it's little brother the DB Pro. The Outcast 8S feels heavy when driving. It does not drive like it's smaller counterparts. Depending on your needs it feels sluggish. For me both have been durable but I don't send my trucks to the moon😊

Any recommendations of parts i might want to grab to have on standby that might be a "weak link"?? About to pull the trigger on one, just trying to figure out which RC online shop i want to work with here in the US? been about 25 years since i had an RC car so just getting back into things.

No breakages so far🤞 I've seen videos where turnbuckles would be a good one to have Part #LOS251096, also suspension arms LOS254006 and lastly Front CVD Assembly LOS252119 and Dogbone, Rear LOS252113. If I was stacking parts this is what I would get. Hope this helps. Welcome back! You are going to enjoy this truck. Key is to getting 100c rated Lipos. I use Power Hobby 100c 4S 6500mah. I believe they have larger MAH's now if you are looking for longer run times. I get about 15-20 minutes run time.
@Arlin Jackson All depends. Are you planning on launching it 50 feet in the air and doing speed rips at 100mph then this will not be worth it. If you are planning on ripping it around at about 40-50 mph(40mph out of the box), hitting sand dunes and jumping it about 5 to 10 feet in the air then this truck is perfect.
@Jeff Long Oh no, the current ESC and motor are only rated for 8S max. For the IC5 off of the ESC I use a EC5 to XT90 adapter. EC5 connectors still work with the EC5's you just don't get the SMART technology features off the battery.
@samita137 Can't give too much comparison to the 5ive-T that's the one I have not driven much. Got to do some maintenance to it. But since they all derived from the SCTE they could not be too far off from each other.
@@sotheamam1244 I won't suggest those. Go with the Duratrax Lockup X or the Proline MX43's. Both are taller than the XMaxx stock wheels and tires plus firmer. Keep in mind this is a heavier RC. The ultimate would be the Proline Trenchers for the HPI Baja. Very hard to find but if you want a lot of ground clearance those are great.
@TIMMYT FPV Depends on how hard you are on the throttle and the size of your packs. The first running videos I have posted up I'm getting 12-15 minutes with 6400Mah. I put some larger packs and was pushing 20 minutes. But I'm not hammering on the throttle the entire time on any of my videos.
@mark J woodford Man, were you watching😂 But seriously, The electronics alone, this is the choice. If you compare the specs of this and the Kraton 8S, you start to get the answers to why people are questioning the power of it. But keep in mind they are built for different uses. I would not launch this 30 feet into the air.
For a 5th scale Losi this is complete junk out of the box...Bronze bushings in the turnbuckles instead of bearings, slop everywhere, the entire truck needs shimming....Losi's quality went downhill after Horizon aquired them, sad sad sad.

I had to increase braking power on mine. Stock breaking was to soft. Pinion came loose on me once so far. I love this truck. 🙂

Good review. I have a Kraton 8S and someone wants to trade me his DBXL-E 2.0 and I am torn if I should trade or not. I like that the Losi has a true 1/5 scale motor and Servo.
@DonnyFrusciante III Thank you! For me when this and the K8S was released, it was just how this was laid out and and true 5th scale setup just sold me. I'm not sure if you have a K8S 1.0 or the 1.5 but if it was the 1.0 I think it's a no brainer make the trade😂🤣
@@ReadySetRC I have the latest K8S, only a couple months old and it has the newer DX3 TX and 20 million center diff "fluid". i have added a M2C chassis on it, as well. I am not an enthusiast like you and just started in RC two months ago. My end goal is to just have one great off road truck and one on road car. Obviously, I love the K8S...I don't think many people would ever call the K8S and hunk of junk....but I also like the look of the DBXLE. They both look similar as far as durability...and i don't really jump the trucks, I mostly go to a construction site and run over mounds of dirt and maybe make tiny tiny jumps off a side of dirt, which I'd bet both of them would handle that sort of thing the same? haha it sounds like it may just come down to looks for me, since I am not an enthusiast, I'd bet I couldn't really tell a difference in how either of them drive...but i could be wrong, maybe the DBXLE is a much better drive than the K8S.
@@LulaPlays Man you can't get rid of that! You put a ton of work into that. Never driven the K8S but if I put that kind of work into it maybe harder for me to trade that. Did the other guy put any work into his DBXL-e 2.0?
@@ReadySetRC @rc clan well...I traded the K8S for the Losi. I hope I don't regret it because someone else just told me his Losi has been nothing but problems. But, I was BLOWN AWAY by how much better the steering is in the Losi compared to the K8S. The freaking Losi handled like a 1/8 scale truck, it was amazing when I test drove it.
The losi was stock...but he did give me several spare parts, including 4 brand new shock assemblies with shocks and all, A-arms, hinge pins, and other parts.
@@LulaPlays You are going to love it. Sounds like you will drive it like I drive mine. If so it will hold up well. Did you see my video where I hit the ramps? It can take it. It flies well so hard to really get this thing to go wonky in the air.

What is it about the stock transmitter you don't like? The reason I'm asking is I'll be buying this within the next month or so and at $1500+ (including batts and charger), I really don't want to spend more.
@blueknight No issues with the stock transmitter. I've used the DX2e in the past, no issues with the performance. I own a Spektrum Pro transmitter. Since most Losi's come with a Spektrum DX receiver, I bind all of my Losi's up to it regardless of how good the stock Spektrum transmitter.
I’m waiting on mine, finally got one, how do you clean it without messing the electronics, do you take it apart?
@8bit Flea I do remove the cage since it is on a hinge and the wheels and tires since I like to scrub those individually but that's it. Everything stays on. Winter time I don't wash this since I don't have the space but warmer months, I wash this outside. I have a video where I show my process. It's a smaller RC but same process for all. @Brentan Wiemken YES! For my bashing style I would chose this over the Outcast 8S. Size, electronics and components used in this is a true 5th scale and that was a quantifier for me and why there is a difference in price (I would imagine the livery has something to do with it too). As big and as heavy as this buggy is it doesn't drive like it. It drives just like it's little brother the DB Pro. The Outcast 8S feels heavy when driving. It does not drive like it's smaller counterparts. Depending on your needs it feels sluggish. For me both have been durable but I don't send my trucks to the moon😊

@Darrin Anderson Thanks for watching. That's a question I get a lot but hurts when I answer it. Toys R Us. Bought this a few years before they went under. I believe you can still find them online 1080 skate ramps. They come in three parts. There is a middle that looks like a small table.

No breakages so far🤞 I've seen videos where turnbuckles would be a good one to have Part #LOS251096, also suspension arms LOS254006 and lastly Front CVD Assembly LOS252119 and Dogbone, Rear LOS252113. If I was stacking parts this is what I would get. Hope this helps. Welcome back! You are going to enjoy this truck. Key is to getting 100c rated Lipos. I use Power Hobby 100c 4S 6500mah. I believe they have larger MAH's now if you are looking for longer run times. I get about 15-20 minutes run time.
How good is it bone stock is it worth the money
@Arlin Jackson All depends. Are you planning on launching it 50 feet in the air and doing speed rips at 100mph then this will not be worth it. If you are planning on ripping it around at about 40-50 mph(40mph out of the box), hitting sand dunes and jumping it about 5 to 10 feet in the air then this truck is perfect.
How do you run those batteries without IC5 connectors? Also will it run on 2 x 6S 22.2V batteries or 12S?
@Jeff Long Oh no, the current ESC and motor are only rated for 8S max. For the IC5 off of the ESC I use a EC5 to XT90 adapter. EC5 connectors still work with the EC5's you just don't get the SMART technology features off the battery.

Can't give too much comparison to the 5ive-T that's the one I have not driven much. Got to do some maintenance to it. But since they all derived from the SCTE they could not be too far off from each other.
Tower hobbies shipped me 4S 50C batteries instead of 100C does that mean that the 50C batteries are useless in one of these buggies?
@Tom Sisson I would not recommend it. This truck is heavy and power hungry. Would be a lot of strain for 50C packs especially in off-road conditions.

@@sotheamam1244 I won't suggest those. Go with the Duratrax Lockup X or the Proline MX43's. Both are taller than the XMaxx stock wheels and tires plus firmer. Keep in mind this is a heavier RC. The ultimate would be the Proline Trenchers for the HPI Baja. Very hard to find but if you want a lot of ground clearance those are great.

@TIMMYT FPV Depends on how hard you are on the throttle and the size of your packs. The first running videos I have posted up I'm getting 12-15 minutes with 6400Mah. I put some larger packs and was pushing 20 minutes. But I'm not hammering on the throttle the entire time on any of my videos.
Is the diff fluid full from stock?
@AJ chang I have not opened up the diffs but Losi is pretty good with their diffs coming full. Was yours not filled?

Man, were you watching😂 But seriously, The electronics alone, this is the choice. If you compare the specs of this and the Kraton 8S, you start to get the answers to why people are questioning the power of it. But keep in mind they are built for different uses. I would not launch this 30 feet into the air.

For a 5th scale Losi this is complete junk out of the box...Bronze bushings in the turnbuckles instead of bearings, slop everywhere, the entire truck needs shimming....Losi's quality went downhill after Horizon aquired them, sad sad sad.

I don't know what your relationship is with horizon hobbies But there customer service is shit. They don't want to support any warranties.
@mark clausson I have none, I'm a consumer just like you. This video was made prior to HH revamping their Customer Service and Website. I've recently reached out to them on a issue and it was the worst experience I ever had calling into the Customer Service Line. I let them know my thoughts on a review they sent over.
