the season start patches are usually much smaller than the mid season patches. We’ll have to wait and see if they will do anything about this monster lol
Might be because Snipewriter does not see much play in most battles that are not comp. And it also has a high learning curve. The emperry dualies on the other hand, well... lol
I got no clue Maybe because the devs didn’t want to change up the meta before a major tournament but also like this doesn’t excuse the enperry nerf. Could be due to enperry probably being the best weapon at lower levels but that’s more of a tsd problem and nerfing the enperry’s pfs from 190 to 200 does nothing in that regard.
Splatoon balance patches are designed to make the weapons generally balanced across all skill levels. Emperry Dualies are incredibly popular and have a high win rate in beginner skill levels.
I really love these more in depth vids. I don't play the game much anymore, but still like hearing about the competitive scene. It really seems like they made the ultimate support weapon with a kit like this. Especially with a lot of the other charger kits having pretty mediocre specials and subs. I always figured Tacti-cooler would be busted with the right weapon lol I can definitely see why its meta.
I never expected a video like this from you and I think you did an incredible job explaining EVERYTHING. The only thing I think you left is the object damage against Crab, Rainmaker Bubble or things like that. I realy appreciate the video because now i could understand even more of the weapon! Thank you so much!
Really appreciate the analysis. Lots of information like the jump charge time and hitbox size I didn't know. Videos with these data points are very enlightening to us that can't find the spreadsheets.
Reason 1. It has access to a broken special, and a sub weapon (sprinkler) that helps it farm that special. Reason 2. It paints a lot from a distance which prevents it from being splatted often, giving it and its teammates the most frequent access to said broken special. The end. Note: When the broken special and sub combo are removed, the snipewriter under performs. See Snipewriter 5b.
Red Snipes is strong too, and one of the top placements in the tournament mentioned in the video is actually 5B. It's less so that it underperforms, but rather than 5H is a generally better pick because Cooler is both top tier and has fantastic synergy with backline, of which there's no alternative. If 5B was all we had, it'd still be a high-tier Zones weapon, and even now it's kind of meta in Turf War where Cooler is weaker than it is in objective-based modes.
It's ironic Dynamo has the exact same combo and see virtually no use. I don't consider the main broken because of the charge time, object damage, and 2HKO. If you nerf the main, you end up with a worst Bamboo.
I'm not sure about gear but would special charge and special power up be the best. I would also consider run speed, quick superjump, ink resistance, special saver and sub defense, but you most of them from the tacticooler and snipewriter isn't really a frontline that needs these that often.(Although an important team member that needs to stay alive). Also sub power up could help the sprinkler to paint well longer
The first time I tried out the 5H, I knew instantly that once the Meta shifted a bit, this thing would shine. Five shots being more forgiving, a slightly larger hit box for shots, and a pretty ok Kit (in my opinion). And then it happened
i felt snipewriter had potential when it debuted, and i was fast to 4-star 5h. i have yet to do the same for 5b, though. getting splats with it is weirdly hilarious to me considering how bad i am with chargers
I feel like it was pretty capable on release too, but everyone dumpstered and disregarded it because it wasn't top tier. Now it got buffed to the point where instead of being a higher-powered splatling dragged down by charger-tier uptime and mobility to just the best splatling in the game full stop, and there's really little reason to not pick Snipewriter as your backline. The only weapons that can deal with Snipes raw are chargers proper, Tri-Stringer and Jet, and they all fall behind massively on paint and uptime. They really should revert it to how it was on release, right now it has way too much effect.
@@unluckify1 nah, even if you take specials out of the equation, Snipewriter is still an unparalelled backline pick. You are baisically forced into one of two choices- you either pick Snipes, or Eliter to specifically counter Snipes. Everything else is either obsoleted or/and evisecrated by either of these two. The only way for Snipewriter to not be meta at this point is for some other backliner to get a busted special that outstrips Snipewriter's qualities on its own, and with only Hydra left, the chances of that are slim.
Well ye no knew the weapon had potential to be strong because it was different compared to other weapons in the game. Plus with tac cooler makes it the most common weapon to play competitively
Of all thing to nerf this patch they nerf the enperry dualies and not this what?! 💀

@@900nutboysyea usually, 4.0 literally tried to kill machine and stamper and started cooler meta

This was a very informative video! Thank you for making this 💛
good video on exsplaning why snipwriter 5b is just the best meta backline weapon
Reason 1. It has access to a broken special, and a sub weapon (sprinkler) that helps it farm that special.

Ah yes. Everyone’s Favorite weapon the Snii- hold up that is my pencil I use in school
Solid vid...not a charger user myself (I suck at 'em) but really enjoyed the attention to detail in it. Keep up the good work.
Yay latias 🎉
part 2 when??
ultimate australian collab
Can we get an eliter guide next too?
I’m surprised people like it. And it’s meta? I thought everyone hated it

I remember when this was a terrible weapon
