- Following successful offshore sea trials this video shows the first inshore fishing trip on my new Warrior 170. Building on what I had learned from the Offshore sea Trials I planned a day fishing some inshore marks with various methods. Lure fishing, live baits, drift fishing and fishing at anchor. Bass, Pollack, Rays and anything else I could find. I had some wonderful fishing and had a great time on the new boat. I keep telling people you don't need to go out to the Atlantic Rift and cast at 1000m to find decent fish BUT they call me fool and ignorant.
The best fishing I have done it's always coastal waters at no more than 30m. Plenty of healthy sea critters to fry.

Hello Mr. FL.I had another skin cancer cut off my nose at end of last August.The needle to freeze the nose is very painfull.Also when doing the stiches the doctor wandered into an area of the nose that was not frozen.Never want that ordeal again.Part of my nose is now plastic.You have the right idea to dodge the sunburns. Cheers from lifelong fisherman in Westcoast Canada!

Mackerel scales and Flounder scales, you will find them and pick at them till the end of time! Memories like the scale that's left behind! Great video and couldn't resist!
The only blond I've had I married! Super video, great fish. Went to an Aquarium on Anglesey where the rays were so tame they came up to be stroked (amazing experience). Watching you catch them and the care you take putting them back is a shining example to all anglers. Impressive film and commentary packed with tips, thanks for posting.

Hello John. Just in case you hadn't thought, bits of split pool noodle on the side rails would protect your rods from banging. Pre cut them to length, slip em' on at the spot and slip em off at the end of the day. All the best.

It's funny you should mention about wearing a cap.
I've been on the ocean fishing now for 51 years.Yes..since age 2.I am blonde hair and blue eyes and I CANNOT wear any kind of cap or hat and neither can i wear sunglasses !
They both give me an aweful headache and make me dizzy.
The doctors that I mention that too say I'm one of very few people that they have heard of that gets this.
But whatever....you cant take the ocean out of me.LOL.
Well we got our boat running properly again and we had two charters this weekend.
Now here on the East Coast of Florida they give us 3 days..yes ONLY 3 days to catch and keep the American Red Snapper...one per person.
This species WAS overfished in the 1960's and 1970's however in 1992 they..the NMFS...implemented a 2 fish...20 inch minimum size per person on them.It took the species approx 15 years to TOTALLY rebuild on their own.
Then in 2009 the NMFS declared the species almost gone entirely (because they used 20 year old data) and closed the species down to any harvest at all.
Well...we spent years working with government scientists and we collected all the CORRECT data showing the species was not only sustainable but extremely OVERPOPULATED.
We took this info to Washington and got a whopping 3 days here to fish and keep them.
On the West coast of Florida they get almost 2 months to fish and keeep them.A different office of the NMFS regulates the Gulf of Mexico side.
Anyways needless to say...on these 3 days of Snapper fishing and keeping you will see approx 40 to 50 boats on every little spot you stop on.
Yes...the South Atlantic Ocean parking lot! ( And you had one red and white boat driving you crazy a few videos ago..Try it over here on these days !)

Thank you so much for enlightening me on ray camouflage, this mnemonic will surely only be useful for that specific niche case where I ponder the question, "Hm, is that a blonde or spotted ray?"
There can be a lot of confusion between big Scotties and small blondes. There is a difference in shape but the spots to the edge is the main one. 😊

I know I'm always saying something like this but what a TH-camr you are. Just feel so at ease with you. I use to get the same feeling watching old John Wilson videos.
