Gabe I saw I Prevail in melbourne 6 days ago, you guys DESTROYED it was the best show I could've asked for. When I heard the stage entrance I was HYPED. Amazing video as always! 🔥🤘🤘
I was in the pit at this Pine Knob show. It was incredible. Major props to the crew for still putting on an amazing show despite being sleep-deprived and the setbacks they faced.
As a metal LD I'm guessing the homie Alex Mungal did this lighting and pyro design based on the programming, truss layout, and the use of all the flames lol. Edit: 17:54 I love that shout out to the crew. If unfortunately very rare for artists to shout us out for all the hard work we do. When the artists acknowledge us, especially to the audience it makes all the hard work 1000% worth. Most people don't even realize how many people, how much time, and how much effort it takes to pull of a good show and putting us in the spotlight for a second makes us feel appreciated.
I actually love the dropped stick at 17:30 . The way you just switched the left stick to the right hand and grabbed the spare with your left, whilst not missing a beat was unreal and true professionalism. Loving these videos!
Hot take, it might actually sound a little bit better like that? With the hi-hat beat dropped out of the, leaving only base and snare. It sounded like a cool mixup.
You know you mentioned in a previous video that not many people really notice or listen to the drums, but ever since ive watched your videos, ive been noticing a lot of drums first, then voice and guitar. Love you work and videos.
I never gave a second thought about what goes on behind the scenes of a concert and what a band has to go through until i randomly found this channel on a boring afternoon. And then i find out this is all from a band i know and listen to occasionally. Thank you for these videos, they are extremely fun.
That little fill at 21:47 is so cool for some reason. I don't think I've ever heard that used in a song before. The offbeat between the snare and the tom just kicks it up a notch!
here i am getting emotional to see such a humble amazing band and a humble cool guy like this Gabe is, get to do something he loves and get to play in his home town on a stage he himself saw concerts at when he was younger is amazing and emotional!
I gotta say man, you have become an absolutely PHENOMENAL drummer. I grew up playing this genre since I was 3. I was very lucky that my dad had a pretty nice, large drum set so I played a pretty big kit since then. When I was 6 I discovered Avenged Sevenfold and it was game over from that point. I made it my goal to learn every single A7X song 100% note for note, and I did that. It made me a very good drummer, and gave me this attitude that if I could play The Rev’s stuff, I can play anyone’s stuff. I knew that was a super cocky mindset, but I needed it. It’s how I learned songs, based off the thought “if a human being did this then there’s no reason I can’t.” I mean this in the most humble way I could possibly express it, although it’s not very humble lol. The reason I’m explaining this is because I feel like playing this stuff since I was so young has given me a very good idea of what makes a good metal drummer. I can usually pick lots of things out in very popular bands. I remember watching your videos when you first joined the band and being really impressed and inspired by how quickly you figured it out. I could definitely hear the same things I’m sure you could, in terms of being new to playing metal. But at the worst it was just some double kick stuff or some fills that were rarely only slightly sloppy, but I could tell because I’ve been doing the same stuff since I was so young. But it was all stuff that I’ve heard really popular metal drummers do all the time in live settings, so in my head, at the time, I just thought of you as a very good metal drummer on that same level of lots of other high level bands I’ve seen, but not someone who really blew me away like The Rev. Which is rare anyways. But man that went away SO QUICK. I loved the vids and kept watching, and it immediately became evident that you were getting like, ridiculously good. And then the videos you started putting out about other drummers, especially the A7X stuff, just completely blew my mind. That’s when I realized that you are absolutely one of those drummers to me that is so disturbingly good I can’t really wrap my head around it. It took me 21 years to get to where I’m at today, and I’m very happy with where my playing is at (always room for tons of improvement though), but the fact that you started playing this genre so recently and have already gotten to a point where there’s no question at all that you’re a wayy better player than me and so many other metal drummers is absolutely insane. Watching this POV specifically, it really seemed like every note you hit was completely effortless. And I’ve only seen that in a few drummers. I cannot wait to see where your playing is at in 5, 10, even 15 years from now because it’s gonna be something nobody’s ever heard before. Thanks for the videos and the inspiration, just another person that’s proof that you can literally do anything you set your mind to
My most favorite song, and first song I've ever heard by 'I Prevail' was "Stuck In Your Head" - song has got me through a lot growing up and I want to appreciate you and your band for giving me something I can hold onto, something to get me through the rough patches in my life. Your music is precious to me. Keep rocking, My friends.
So much, so much respect for you, bro! So many drummers rely on the double kick to fill their fills. You still use your sticking to make your fills! Your double kick is used perfectly! So fun to watch a complete drummer! Thanks for taking us on your ride! No pun intended! Big ups to you, man!
Love all of the POV Vids Gabe, just would love to see more of a studio pov if possible sometime, I'm really curious about what being a band's drummer in a studio and coming up with drum parts is like! Thanks and keep up the vids! ❤❤❤❤❤
I've known about the band for a few years and Now watching your videos and how you guys are, I don't feel like I gave the band enough of a chance to really enjoy the music, since I've started watching your videos of you guys on tour, I've taken the time to go back and listen to more of the bands music and I am starting to fall in love with the music and honestly the band as a whole, I hope to get you guys here to play a show some day in Atlantic Canada.
Getting chills from hearing Erics callout to Pine Knob cus it immediately takes me back to this show, you guys one upped the RIFF FEST 2023 performance big time and everyone around me had an absolute blast. Really sucks about the truck breakdowns but seemingly everyone made the best of it, I remember everyone being so confused about the merch not being there and glad that everything worked out fine in the end!

Hi Gabe, your POV vids inspired me to do something similar, I have a gig in 1 week and I'll vlog the preps and everything it's all because of your vids!!
Love these POV shots! They give us a deeper understanding of you and your band. I now know more about your band than my favorite band, Avenged Sevenfold (A7X). I wish more bands would share similar behind-the-scenes content, even if it's not for every tour - maybe 2 out of 5 tours. It helps fans connect more with their favorite bands. These POV shots show how challenging being in a band can be, from playing shows to organizing events. We get to see the behind-the-scenes efforts that often go unnoticed. Without these shots, all we see is the live performance, and then it's over, leaving us to assume they're living a perfect life as a successful band. I'm sure every band faces struggles. I hope more bands share POV shots like these. I've become a huge fan of your band after seeing these! Thank you for sharing.🖤🤘

Wish I woulda been able to see this show but it's awesome to see you guys playing much bigger venues!
Love the vlogs keep em coming
i love these drum POVs, keep doing them. i learn so much from them
Amazing performance... I love the fact that you all (the whole band) are real down to earth people, that hasn't let the fame blur the vision, Gabe, thank you for introducing me to "I PREVAIIL". Fuking Awesome!!! DON'T STOP doing what makes you happy. Looking forward to the next installment...lol
Love the Troy-Abed handshake!

I'm grateful you record these for us to watch. Such a cool perspective, and I can't imagine what it must be like to be playing on that stage.
I was on the lawn on your left hand side. Even from back there... This was such an amazing emotional show. Can't wait for the next show
Just saw you guys perform yesterday in Adelaide! Was such a fun time, can't wait to hopefully see you guys next year! You and the whole band absolutely killed it! 💜

@@fcninja_1211 I Prevail
@@pollymaker4337 ahh thank you
Yep. Accidentally hitting the underside of a cymbal on an upstroke is a sure fire way to be playing one handed until you can pick up another stick!

Ciao Gabe, ti seguo ormai da anni e trovo i tuoi video veramente interessanti....sono diventato assolutamente un tuo fan!! Grazie e complimenti ai I PREVAIL 👏👏👏👏

I absolutely love I Prevail, the drummer headcams make me love it even more
AWESOME!!! Great job Gabe and fellas....
I can’t wait to see you guys at sonic temple next year. It’s going to be sick!
Your videos Gabe have become my favourite thing to watch. I really want to be on the stage one day. 🤘
I love your vids man. Not even a drummer just fascinated by it all. Keep grinding. Y’all have made me a fan of the metal genre with these vids and all. No joke…I listen to I prevail while working out now daily
Those explosions were gnarly, probably shook that whole riser. I know the drummer felt that in his entire body.😁
Was at this concert, 2nd time seeing you guys in less than a year. Kick ass performance as always and being at pine knob that night was something special
Just watched you guys play in Adelaide, what a show. These are my fav vids on here man keep it up! Another AUS tour asap please 🙌
