Jimmy, thank you for sending laughs and encouragement and prayers our way in Texas. Last week was trying for me and my dialysis family, the elderly and special needs. While teddy bear was flying to Cancun, I was calling every dialysis facility and hospital to try my hardest to get others out life saving treatments. It’s so sad that he thinks one case of water after the fact is that moving seeing we are now dealing with food shortages. He should’ve been here on the frontlines helping us instead of his pockets!!!

People forget the more vulnerable in a crises. I am truly sorry you are goin through this and will contribute to the money already raised. It looks like that because its a 12 year old german shepherd and is very old. Most old dogs look a little rough. Dogs that size are considered seniors at 8 years old.

That's the first rescue dog in the White House. Maybe he does have some health problems as many rescue dogs do, but he honestly looks healthy and happy to me.
He looks perfectly healthy. The photo was a bit blurred as well - it wasn't very clear at all. Champ looks amazing in all other photos. He's not only a rescue dog, he's OLD. He's 12 already, and those dogs usually live between 9-13 years. He's perfectly fine and he appears to be extremely well kept.
Every dog should be a rescue.

@@bgonza2 Well, i think it's the same as any bordering State. It's taught in schools fairly early as geography. And later as part of social studies.
Culture is not as much of a focus as events. So in History, the early American history generally covers Mexico being west of the Mississippi, and later Texas chomping a bit more land. (Although it is surprising many Americans don't know how large of a Country Mexico was, and that many of them are living in historically Mexican land. So i shouldn't generalize that education to all American school children).
As far as culture, usually older students study that as a part of Social Studies. Say. 13 or 14 y.o.'s.
Of course, education varies depending on proximity. States closer to the Mexican border are likely to focus more on their nearest neighbors,, while States closer to the 45th Parallel are likely to focus more on Canada.
The first exposure most people probably have to other cultures is food. There are a lot of Mexican restaurants in most of the US, so that is likely a child's early exposure. Of course Mexican decor and people are typically there as well.
The holidays of other cultures are probably the second earliest exposure after food. As everyone likes food and holidays, that isn't surprising. And holidays are used to teach cultural ideas fairly early, probably 7-9 y.o.'s.
Of course, television cannot be left out, as many children see new things there for the first time. As it is easier than traveling to different areas in person, we should assume many first exposures come from both entertainment and documentaries.
Well, all of the above is highly varied. Perhaps it is an over-generalization. On the other hand, it seems like a logical path for many, even if not an "official" process.
