Maya no need to apologise for being sick and for the “different” video. It’s not like you planned it. I love watching the progress no matter how it’s “packaged”. Well done for doing ANY work and filming. 🙌🤗🙌🤗
The satin finish is so much classier looking than the shiny finish. The lustre is to die for. Lots of work but well worth it in the end. Can't wait to see the rest of the floor complete.
If you decide you want a better solution for those plastic parts for the winch, get me a drawing of what you need and I can 3d print a part out of ASA (great UV resistant and weather / chemical inert material) for you.
Wow, that is extremely generous! Would it be possible for you to send us an email so we could discuss? It’s the name of the channel, no spaces, at gmail :)
EUC sighting at 11:06! I caught COVID in early August. Put me out of commission for a solid week. Glad you’re feeling better. I would have watched a month of videos of just Aladino laying up the head, but totally understand the cramped space adding to the negative factors already associated with filming. Incredible music selection and editing as always.
We love the satin finish on the interior. You don't realize how much the high gloss glares when reflecting sunlight. You made the most beautiful and practical solution. And yes, you have to use the polyurethane on the floors. Everything looks so beautiful and we are looking forward to see you put her in the water! Namaste. 🙏
The beautiful lines of the Cape George, sparkling new rigging, hardware, brightwork- meticulous attention to detail: eye-candy everywhere you look. She's going to be a beautiful place to share- pass time.
Maya, we are all so impressed with the cabin sole! Hoping your illness goes away soon. Cape George is a wonderful design and Aladino showed us the construction thickness of the hull is quit thick.
When we were making veneered skateboards we got some pure silica from the hardware store to sprinkle into a top coat to provide a non skid surface which does not show because it is as transparent as the top coat. I am always gratified to see your many ship fitting skills and particularly the cable skills that Aladino now displays after having just seen them in the earlier video. The parapet looks like a solid perch and the bottom triple sensor is well placed without the lump that they usually entail. I liked the subtle piano music while Aladino was fitting the ends for the cable the first time.
I feel for you both. I got sick over a month ago, my throat and lungs are still not normal. Take care and I know the long delay so hope you took it easy on yourselves.
You two did a lot of good work for having a cold .Two comments : Self-tailing winches are the only way to go especially with a small crew & satin gloss interior looks calming and classy . Thanks great vid!
Beautiful job on the finishing. Smart to only have 1-2 coats of satin, that finish contains particles to make it not glossy. It's controversial, but many woodworkers feel that many coats of satin can slightly obscure the wood grain. Well done!
Quick question, how many times do you think you have climbed up and down that ladder since the refit started. Your getting a world class stair stepper workout, no doubt. The boat is looking incredible, you guys are amazing craftsmen. Cheers from Austin, TX
Of course i wish you a speedy recovery. Summer colds are not our friends. And i am once more complimenting your choice of background soundtrack. However, i adore your violin playing, and hope that as soon as you are feeling fit enough, you will treat us and yourself to a mellow golden but not glossy musical interlude. 🙄
I was just watching that incredible floor varnishing and thinking, I woild like to know your approach and then you explained it. Looking better every week. Take it easy and get well.
Nice work. Very satisfying to watch! Love seeing Magic Carpet II progress with it's finishings. You guys are an amazing team! Wishing you health blessings to full recovery!
In peer reviewed studies: a nasal saline rinse of the sinuses decreases all respiratory infections up to 80percent. If not allergic to betadine or iodine you can add a 1/2-1% to your nasal rinse and this really helps. This prep is used all the time for oral surgery. Betadine comes in a 10% concentration so I needs to be diluted to a 1/2-1-% concentration. I have used this several times and it really stops big infections. Good luck!!! The boat is looking really nice. Glad you are on the mend!
That boat is built like an armored tank which is what you want for Blue water Boat. I would mount that through haul plug on a stand as a talking piece. LOL
Beautiful work as usual ❤️⛵️I’ve put the rubbed effect epiphanies varnish on the inside of an old wooden yacht and what a beautiful difference it makes😇 Thank you🙏
This time I totally disagree with what Aladino said: Of course he is also good respectively great with metal! 👍👌👏 I totally agree with Maya about the satin finish. Much better and much better looking for the floors (somehow noble). I'm happy to see that both of you are an your feet again. Get well soon completely but take all the time it needs. Health is simply the most important thing. As always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and especially health to both of you.
I love the cutting board solution for the winches, as a month ago I used some cutting board to make spacers in order to attach wheels to my inflatable Kolibri dinghy. A neat scupper fitting was in the way and spacers were needed, a hole saw made a neat cut for the final size. At some point I hope you can include an electric winch, they are a safety tool in that it permits the easier recovery of a man overboard and hoisting someone aloft. Even being seasick limits one's capacity to exert energy. This summer when sailing around the Fastnet I became sea sick. Fortunately I was able to tuck in a reef on the main, then rest. As with all these things, having options to prevent issues escalating is vital to safety. Do read some of the reports by the UK's MAIB Marine Accident Investigation Branch'. Serious problems often involve a combination of elements. A well prepared boat includes crew being able to solve problems with all systems, engine, electrics, rigging.
Excellent and Outstanding job you two. She is going to be a Stunner inside and out. Just watch that illness there is still COVID about. hey if ya needc a break have a break. Beleive me HEALTH is everything. Don,t ask but been there doing it and be doing it for more than while. Be well.
Excellent video in so many ways. The music selections are so appropriate and well laid down with the video. The story telling is excellent, as is the obvious care being taken in every task and project. You are making the boat beautiful and I look forward to the day when I see you in the water. Well done!!
You both are such perfectionist, I absolutely love it! The results will be a home that you have put your heart and sole into and can be so very proud at both its beauty and the craftsmanship. ⚓️ if they aren’t already, Cape George in PT will be proud to see you representing them out there on the sea. Take care, get well.
Sometimes you have to fill your own cups to move forward, your body will tell you when it needs time out. Make sure you give yourselves some healing time.
I was surprised with your rigging fabricator used silicone in the Sta-Lok fittings. I was always taught to use 4200 which causes me much less trauma. We totally agree with the satin varnish. High gloss needs to be 100% perfect all the time in order to look decent. That includes no fingerprints. That is just not a reality in a boat that is used. The satin looks fantastic even when it is not perfect and never shows fingerprints.
About 10 years ago lost the forestay in about an 8 foot swell on the way to Marquesas.. Bam. Upper swage fitting. Carried a spare cable and spare sta-locks. Now I think I'd think I'd carry dyneema and blue jeans for chafe protection. With led lights, solar, wind, and watermakers...we are so free now. Except sailors 50 years ago experienced more freedom in traveling through countries.
I just love these videos. With Aladino’s experience and skills, I would call him a “young old soul” but having said that, would love to know the reason he chose SS wire over more modern UHMWPE line for the standing rigging; aesthetic and/or practical reasons? Also, dust and soil upon the sole, need not disturb a tranquil soul!
The boat is looking gorgeous, take care of yourselfs (we'll be here however much "content" you guys have for us).
That’s really really kind, thank you 🙏🏼
Maya no need to apologise for being sick and for the “different” video. It’s not like you planned it. I love watching the progress no matter how it’s “packaged”. Well done for doing ANY work and filming. 🙌🤗🙌🤗
Please don't apologize for getting sick! We all understand. Thanks for the update, it looks amazing. Rest and heal up soon!
The satin finish is so much classier looking than the shiny finish. The lustre is to die for. Lots of work but well worth it in the end. Can't wait to see the rest of the floor complete.

With the new hardware it starts to look like a boat. With the magnificent floor it starts to look like a home!
EUC sighting at 11:06!

I would have watched a month of videos of just Aladino laying up the head, but totally understand the cramped space adding to the negative factors already associated with filming.
Incredible music selection and editing as always.
I am glad to see that you are getting better and hope you continue to. You still got quite a bit done while you were sick, and I all looks wonderful !
Get well soon both of you….
Thank you both as always!!
I hope the two of you continue to feel better!
Please don't rush and have a relapse.
WE WILL ALWAYS BE HERE!!!!
That means a lot, thank you
We love the satin finish on the interior. You don't realize how much the high gloss glares when reflecting sunlight. You made the most beautiful and practical solution. Wow the floor looks amazing the whole boat is coming along amazingly beautiful 🙏❤️
All the work you both do is exceptional and your musical selections are beautiful 🤩
Rest recover, be well.
It sounds the approach of the launch. Aladino is working the boat's fittings while Maia is finishing the Varnish 🤗🤗🤗
The beautiful lines of the Cape George, sparkling new rigging, hardware, brightwork- meticulous attention to detail: eye-candy everywhere you look. She's going to be a beautiful place to share- pass time.
I couldn’t agree more about the satin. They look amazing.
Cabin sole and hatch covers look great! Almost too pretty to walk on!
Maya, we are all so impressed with the cabin sole! Hoping your illness goes away soon. Cape George is a wonderful design and Aladino showed us the construction thickness of the hull is quit thick.
Thanks for the update. I agree, the satin is better than the gloss.

I fully agree with you, that the Mat finish is the best. Get better.
that cylinder of hull material for the depth sounder is pretty impressive
Hope you get well soon!
It’s been exciting to watch since the beginning, but now things are really moving along!
You two did a lot of good work for having a cold .Two comments : Self-tailing winches are the only way to go especially with a small crew & satin gloss interior looks calming and classy . Thanks great vid!
Completely off subject, but I like your handle & boot image. Let me guess, you were born in 98 and have size 13 clod hopper boots.
Beautiful job on the finishing. Smart to only have 1-2 coats of satin, that finish contains particles to make it not glossy. It's controversial, but many woodworkers feel that many coats of satin can slightly obscure the wood grain. Well done!
100% Agree Satin, it looks so much better. I trust you are better now. Thank you for your for your Videos.
It’s all coming together and looking fantastic.
Quick question, how many times do you think you have climbed up and down that ladder since the refit started. Your getting a world class stair stepper workout, no doubt. The boat is looking incredible, you guys are amazing craftsmen. Cheers from Austin, TX
Wow, things are really coming along, you two! Glad you're getting back into the land of the living, too.
you guys have got a lot done thanks for the update and have a wonderful weekend

Take care of yourself. Don’t overdo it.
Great job on the self tailing plastic part on the winch.
Nice work!!!
yes, the satin finish is sooo much better...
That piece of hull you cut out for the triducer, polish it up and then Maya can use it as a paper weight to go with her writing set
Love the satin on the hatches. Looks great!
I was just watching that incredible floor varnishing and thinking, I woild like to know your approach and then you explained it. Looking better every week. Take it easy and get well.
absolute perfection. it's a privilege to watch you two working,
Nice work. Very satisfying to watch! Love seeing Magic Carpet II progress with it's finishings. You guys are an amazing team! Wishing you health blessings to full recovery!
Wow, he is so creative with the plastic piece!

I *love* the satin finish!
Beautiful work as usual ❤️⛵️I’ve put the rubbed effect epiphanies varnish on the inside of an old wooden yacht and what a beautiful difference it makes😇 Thank you🙏
Very good, both of you have done a more than excellent, wonderful job, an extraordinary effort. 👌
Looking good! Can’t wait to see you two get back in the water

the satin finish looks fantastic and great job on the new ring for the winch
It’s looking fabulous
The boat is looking amazing, satin for sure is the right path.

spider aladino... Great movement inside the boat while putting the hatches down.... lol :D
You're doing great!!!
Everything looks great. Keep up the good work and hope you feel better soon.
You're a 100% right about that satin finish!
The satin really does look good, the difference is amazing. Its looking good you both have done a exceptional job
I reviewed the Atkin "Tally Ho Major" lines earlier today in anticipation of your video drop. Glad you are feeling a bit better.
Actually it was another wonderful video, fast paced. Great content.
We did a kitchen worth of cabinet doors. The satin finish was our choice for the last coats. Such a great warm finish. Your choice looks great.
My hats off to Maya! I would have painted myself into a corner three times in thirty minutes.
Rest recover, get well soon. No worries.
I love the soft glow too ;)
Perfection. Again! ❤
Excellent video in so many ways. The music selections are so appropriate and well laid down with the video. Looks great! I hate gloss as well.......Try de-glosser!
LOVE the satin.
Sorry to hear you weren’t well , hope you recover quickly , all the work is beautifully accomplished!

I love satin over gloss in everything, boat looks amazing! Thank you for filming even when sick, love to see the boat changes.
You be as precious as you like. On that subject, whenever time can be bent to it some music would be nice.
Thanx for the content, feel better
Been with you from the start. I know your work ethic.Don't apologize.
Satin finish makes everything look flawless! 🙂
Glad you're both feeling better, the final touches are looking awesome!
This boat is getting damn lookng nice....I am jealous!
I was surprised with your rigging fabricator used silicone in the Sta-Lok fittings. I was always taught to use 4200 which causes me much less trauma.

Such a beautiful boat. Alot of pride and workmanship shows. The prize is near!
Wonderful!!
Even better dynema rigging for DIY riggers..lighter strronger and no corrosion .. just a bit more care requred about abrasion prevention.
About 10 years ago lost the forestay in about an 8 foot swell on the way to Marquesas.. Bam. Upper swage fitting. Carried a spare cable and spare sta-locks. Keep chipping away..
Always amazing.
Thankyou.
I see Wera Tools, i press like 😂
My husband and I are removing our kitchen. Silicone is clearly a builder’s friend, so why should it be yours?😂😂
OUR boat is looking gorgeous 😉❤️
Good idea to screw something into the bow. This is usually the first place that hitts the ground. ;-)
Cant wait to see the head coming together. Could be the first room complete?
I just love these videos. With Aladino’s experience and skills, I would call him a “young old soul” but having said that, would love to know the reason he chose SS wire over more modern UHMWPE line for the standing rigging; aesthetic and/or practical reasons? Picky picky picky ….. it looks great it will soon be satin after it wears a bit … 😬😊🦋
give the glossy floor a quick rub down with a scotch brite pad to make it less slippery and glossy. i bet you can get it pretty close if you want to.
Those plastic winch parts were probably black for the reason UV won’t affect it. White will degrade in sunlight. Keep up the good work.
Great video. Get well soon.
Blåkläder.bästa..
I'm a many coats of full gloss type person.
Hello from Siesta Key Florida
Sickness has been hitting here bad this year.
