I’ve always assumed that most people like to hear conspiracy theories as a form of entertainment, like an alternative fiction. 2020 kinda made me realize why it could actually be bad for society

Conspiracies are a double edged sword for me. Some a clearly crazy, but the easiest way to hide or missdirect is to just call it a conspiracy. You can discredit even the truthiest truths with that label. But, I don't think everyone can handle the truth so it's probably for the best.

I'm 100% sure his opinion is not due to actual measurable changes in society but rather in changes in his perspective or his ability to cope with and interact with younger people. Have you ever looked into the Fermi Paradox? Kurzgesagt does a great video on it. It basically talks about the potential reasons why why can't find solid evidence of intelligent life on other planets, which is especially weird because mathematically speaking, there should be life out there.

Pretty much all of them are true. The government was behind 911, MK Ultra was real and documented. The government knew weed cured cancer back in the 60’s and banned it because of that. The nsa is spying on every single Americans phone, computer and smart devices. GMO’s are causing so many health problems and so are cell towers, literally every single one turned out to be true or at least have tons of evidence pointing at it being true.

About the coin flips example - actually it`s not how the math for it works, each coin flip is a 50/50 chance, and thats true, however 2 flips in a row have a probabilty of 0.25 (0.5x0.5). Which means that if you had flipped a coin 3 times and you got heads 3 times, it is only 0.0625 chance of you getting 4th head on the coin flip (0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5). Even though for each separate flip it is 50/50 chance. I dont want to sound rude or be a smartas*, just wanted to share it with you. Great video!

The Algorithm... TH-cam algorithm doesn't know this ASAP video is anti conspiracy theory. But for all it knows it is about conspiracy theories (for or against, doesn't matter, the point is that it falls in that category under the algorithm). So, it starts recommending you conspiracy theory videos... (and because most conspiracy theory videos are in favor of pushing such theories instead of debunking them, that's what you'll get).
I’m convinced that religion, with all its crazy mythology, primes a person’s brain to believe anything, no matter how outrageous. It also makes them immune to the logical counter arguments. And they have learned to accept the weird shit without questioning too.

Our lack of knowledge made us explain the unknown with gods, it was an easy answer. Now we know a god doesn't lift the sun or start the rain, we do not need religion anymore, however, leaving the religions does not make us gods, it should, and often do, make us more humble and treasure our one and only life even more.

It's simply a fact that we humans once needed gods as an explanation to more or less everything while now we know the truth in many of these cases. I have no idea how quantifying in itself can be an excuse or reason to leave a religion. Quantifying means to measure the size or amount of something. If you put a synonym of quantifying, like measuring, in its place in your sentence I think you can see that it doesn't make any sense. Were you thinking about argumentum ad populum perhaps?
I'm well aware that a person's religion is a complex matter and far more than an explanation to the unknown. The unknown was, however, likely a strong factor for developing religions and since the start of this thread talks about the origin of religions it's a relevant and functioning subject.
I have been exposed to scriptures, Christian scriptures. I have never believed but I have read a lot of the bible and been to church many times. Not that that circumstance in itself in any way makes me more or less qualified to state the fact that humans do not need a religion, I just wanted to inform you. Individuals may absolutely need religion but as a species or even society, we don't and I state that leaning on the fact that whole countries live happily and productive without it. If it's the best way is naturally up for debate but a need for human survival and happiness it is not.
I'm sorry to hear that you consider your knowledge of science as a misfortune. People in the western world are truly privileged because of science, we live a longer, happier and more comfortable life because of it. You are using the result of science every single day. I have a hard time believing you would be pleased if it all went away.
I would call the four sentences I made in my first comment for a conversation or calm discussion. How you could view that as "making a scene" is quite bizarre to me. @Aa Imer I'm glad you asked. It's really simple to conclude that ghosts don't exist. I mean there's a) There's no evidence for them b) If ghosts do exist, why don't all people become ghosts when they die? Throughout history, about 100 billion people have existed on earth. If all of them died and became ghosts, there'd be about 14 ghosts for every person alive right now, meaning there'd be a hell of a lot them and spotting one would be as easy as spotting an insect. And yet, this doesn't happen. And that's not even counting all our human-like ancestors. c) No one ever seems to see ghosts of infants or animals. Why's that? Do infants not count as humans? Or animals not count as ghost material? d) Why would evolution spend billions of years ensuring survival if we could all just go on existing as ghosts? If ghosts existed, I'd be the happiest man in the world. Because it'd mean that I wouldn't die and my consciousness would live on. In fact, it'd be better to exist as a ghost than as a human. Call us humans or ghosts or vampires, it doesn't matter. Also, people can ask anything and by that logic, literally anything's possible. What if we're all supermen? Or unicorns? Mermaids? Flying pigs? Just because I can think of it doesn't mean it's automatically true. Which is why we have the burden of proof. Accept that nothing exists until you have solid evidence that it does.

As someone with several conditions that are sensitive to certain sounds and lights I did not enjoy the intro including the ASAPscience wiggle bit. By time the video started proper I felt a bit nauseous and as if a seed of a migraine has been planted.

ok, so just a random note on the coin flip. There are two options. Either the coin is non-biased, in which case there is a 50/50 chance. Or the coin is biased heads. There is a non-zero chance the coin is biased heads. Therefore choosing heads for the fourth coin flip is logical as it has an ever so slightly chance of being biased towards heads. (which aligns with what was said earlier about better being safe than sorry)
