He comes across as a competitive, feral brute (and was quite the bully prior to attending UA), but he's not completely devoid of his father's softer side, often in need of more comforting than he will allow himself to accept. He's smarter than his apparent recklessness makes him look, more strategic than he seems, and whether or not he realizes it, his strength inspires others to be stronger, become better. Somehow he just can't inspire Shoto to get better at cooking. He's not always a good winner, either, but his persistence gets him some points. He's gotten better at teamwork, relying on others, and examining his own motives and inner workings.
He's not my personal favorite (take your guesses, if you will), but he often tops reader popularity polls. Here is Katsuki Bakugou.
