I really do enjoy your films. The reason I dont ask a thousand questions is that I learn something almost every film I watch and sometimes a bunch of things on one film. Looks good . That accuset is the way to go, I love mine.
I own a woodmizer and it works real good . The mill i i purchased used so there were a few little minor parts i replaced just to dress it up a little . The people at woodmizer are good to deal with and decent all around from my dealings.
What Woodmizer did you buy used and year model?

I love your show man and your camera work is getting really good
Have you tried the pattern feature much? I rarely use the auto up/down, i find the pattern mode much easier. Also if you have to shut down the mill, you can get back to your location without having to set the blade on the old cut (sometimes overnight or something the timber can move)
just starting to learn that system now, lots of possibilities there,

@@OutoftheWoods0623 its bittersweet, but someone just gave me a deposit, supposed to complete the sale end of the month. I've got a bit of stuff to wrap up in the next two weeks so Sarah is taking the opportunity to play cameraman...shes editing videos now, looking pretty sweet. She has a Canon 5D with some nice lenses, so its pretty crazy to see the picture quality shes able to get
This new mill is pretty awesome, ole Corey that runs True South needs to dig up some of that rusty money he's squirreling away in the sandhills and get him something like this to up his production and maybe he would have some time to go deer hunting instead of pushing that sawmill of his.
You could have also set one of your pattern modes for 6" as your bottom board and the 1" as all other boards above and not have to go down to 6" then come back up with the auto up mode. I have also done it as you did.
Was wondering if you have tried using the pattern mode ? You can set your cant at the bottom setting and anything else. thickness wise you want above that . I find that The accuset features work best when they are all used together .

Just curious @Out of the Woods what do you do with your scrap. I see some good stuff in those! Then again, I make teacher supplies from wood, nothing terribly large! I used to have a TH-cam channel, @Peccys Place, so I can appreciate the amount of camera angles and editing you do!
Nice milling shed, but I'm wondering if it's pretty loud in there. The design looks like a there would be some loud acoustic regions.

Just curious, the time on the video shows 11 minutes, how long did it take to make the video not counting the editing? I know you have to re position your camera setups. I do enjoy your videos.
about 2 hours, then 2 more for the edit, one log takes about 5 hours usually,

If I was young enough to get around I would find a place for one. I never imagined anything like this existed when I was still working and getting around.
If grade sawing, although more time involved, why not remove the pith? Have two separate cants then saw them together for the 1x6’s? Just curious. Great stuff as always Nathan the accuset 2 is 👍

grade sawing is going for widest clearest boards possible, 1x6s or a particular board width are not even a consideration when sawing for grade, two separate cants also would create odd grain patterns and make for less quality of lumber,

Why not cut them 1 1/8 so you didn't have so much waste slab on top? Could always run through planer after dry. Or did you need 1" for something?
When you say 1" boards. Is it a true 1" or is actually like 3/4"

Oh I forgot to ask. In that auto up did you enter the blade or cut thickness first? I saw it didnt go up 1" exactly.
How do you handle the corner waste on the top board or two on the six inch cuts.

Man i swear, every time i look at you reving that engine i think it sure looks like it moves more and more at an angle. I would personally be very concerned that it one day just fell off. There is perhaps some method to why it moves, or has a lot of play in it, like that, but i sure would worry.
This was answered in the last video (or the second last). It moves to engage the clutch and start the blade turning.

Maybe its just me but that saw mill head shakes like crazy can not figure out how it cuts a straight board ?.in joy be safe😎
