OMG, you are so good at describing how to take a 'hokum" scale and bowing practice and fit it in to a song. Thank you for the recipe, I'll practice until I can fit that "sauce" into a song. Thank you so much!
Saving this video to watch several times. Mike my son Earl is Bill Harrison's grandson! We (Ray's son) are in Ennis . Would be fun to see if you are available sometime.
Run Pony run good! I recently read on-line some people are trying to figure out the rhythm used in English Country Dancing a few centuries ago. One person speculated that it might be Run Pony run. My guess (purely) is it might have been. Especially for the more lively “Barn(e) Dance stuff. Thanks!
A song like The Dashing White Sargent for example, it is a reel and I think the run pony bowing can fit. It helps create a lively feel even if you only have 1 fiddle playing the dance music.

Just noticed you hold the frog. Where do you plant your pointer finger? On the frog or hair? I tried it your way and it seems to help run pony
I do sometimes let my finger creep up onto the hair. It is not considered the best form, but when you find something that works for you, go for it!
