Hey Landr , i know you try to avoid too much music theory , but i think you should have explained most of the rhythms in the video uses tuplets and are a bit harder to program in a DAW The fact that you don't show where the bar is and how you subdivided it tells me you are aware of that
Hey Benj, that would have been cool to do, but would have made the video much much longer. It's definitely a topic we can set aside for the future though. Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks for the freebies! I need all the help I can get for my Chilled out Lofi drumbeats. I'm doing DAW-less, (because DAWs are too easy) so I don't have those groovy plugins to make my drums sound perfectly Lofi with just a click of a button, you know? So I gotta use other tricks, which I don't really have. So I'm exploring other old-school Lofi ideas.
So, I’m trying to decipher this for drum beat maker and the samples are up in the 166bpm range. I have no idea what the individual beats but on the screen it looks like 8th notes and this isn’t the case. This is a good video for a history aspect but not a good tutorial video. This has led to more frustration for me than anything else because I can’t figure out how to get my beats to sound exactly as what is shown on screen at the same tempo as I’m just copy pasting the patterns on screen to my drum machine and they sound more like some synth beats.
if you want to have an organic lofi sound with the drum kit, what would you use? like a towel, a cymbal on the snare... Is there any hi-hat that you recommend to get that lofi sound??
Which kind of snare are you playing during the green parts of the ghost jam? I don't really hear a difference th-cam.com/video/tfIeJigRWzk/w-d-xo.html @LANDR
anyone for "Soul Vibe" taking them back to old Gorrilaz days? def hit me there! also, question, does anyone recognize the modulating 8 as a regular drum pattern of Kendrick Lamar's? I realize he has a wide range of variety of song sounds in hiphop/lofi, even R&B and the drums are so different in each. I feel like though, in one album particular DAMN, he used this one often, but switched it up alot, which created a very nice "ear candy" effect.
As Jacob Collier might say, some of the "unquantised" rhythms sound like a division of each beat into five ticks :-) it features in some world music, like Moroccan gnawa
Pretty aesthetic, right? What's your go-to drum pattern for your lofi bops?
Can you make them available for midi Please 🙏🏻
Dilla beat

We'll be on it! Thanks Santos.
@@LANDRmusic Yes! Please! These are so helpful.
For us non-drummers your explanations of why each beat sounds like it does are SOOOO helpful! ❤

Nonetheless, the video is still done with so much quality , keep it up !

I'm a drummer and want to learn how to play these beats on an acoustic kit. Are there transcriptions of these beats so I an practice them?

What's name about intrduction music???
Could you also
make a video explaining how to use different time divisions for lofi, thanks.
ABAC
it would have been great if the lofi in the background changed to the beats while you were talking about it!

Great video, love it.
Glad you enjoyed it
I thought lofi meant low fidelity. Didn't realise it is a music style. A drum pattern cannot be low fidelity.
are you thinking of noise? music has some form by definition
Sooooo good thank you! 🧡
You're so welcome!
nice video.
Many many thanks
