She proceeded to open a drawer and took out a small box, and in it was the tiniest, most beautiful little suit I have ever seen. They also had a book about P.T. Barnum’s “freaks” so for the rest of the night, after I put the children to bed, I read the book and was enthralled. It turns out the mother was related to Tom Thumb.
Every now and again I’m fascinated with the ideas of what we accept as acceptable rather it be by settling, desperation, limits, rules, technology, faith or whatever else.
