One interesting thing about the ring is that the male members wear dresses or skirts and the female members wear suits. Along with that, due to Leviathan having now ended and the Limbus Story teaser released on Friday the 4th, more stuff has been revealed about the city which I will post here for people who want to be up to date on the lore. SPOILERS FOR RUINA, LEVIATHAN, AND LIMBUS STAGE 1-4 In the Limbus story teaser Project Moon released, Ishmael refers to Lobotomy Corp as “the previous L Corp. This implies that another wing (possibly Limbus Company) has taken control of Lob Corp’s nest bringing the city back up to 26 districts. Lapis was survived exposure to the Glass Window singularity at the cost of her entire personality being replaced with that of someone called Charon. Charon acts fairly childlike yet shows she has some memories by the way she reacts to seeing Garnet. Garnet was the only successful experiment from the ring and his body was turned into a gem. Charon takes the gem with her when she escapes the Ring HQ with Vergilius. Vergilius was one of the people visited by Roland during his quest to find who was responsible for the pianist. Vergilius and Roland connect on both hating the city and that if he were in Roland’s position, he would do the same, so Roland let’s him live. With the loss of Garnet and Lapis, Vergilius does as he said and goes to try and destroy as much of the city as possible when he is interrupted by Faust. Faust says that it is still possible to save Garnet and Lapis, it she will only help him if him and Charon join HER Limbus Company. We also learn that the sin cocoon phenomenon is when a person has a strong desire but is unsure what to do with it. Those who try to take their desire while maintaining their humanity awaken to an EGO. Those who try to take their desire at any cost become distortions. Those who cannot decide have their consciousness eroded and turn into the sin abnormalities. Those who gave up on their desires become human. It is also revealed that if a distorted person realizes their desire is impossible to achieve, they will lose their remaining humanity and become an abnormality. Finally, the reason that Carmen wants to turn everyone into distortions is because when she merged into the seeds of light, she was able to see how much effort would be required to save everyone if the project succeeded. What she learned was that the amount of sacrifice needed to overthrow the head would be larger than all the sacrifice that has happened in the city since it’s foundation. Since Carmen doesn’t want people to die, she chooses to turn them into distortions because to her a few people dying to distortions is nothing compared to the amount of people who would die overthrowing the head.
I noticed that as well. Maybe they just like being eccentric about wearing opposite sex clothing. Also, is that properly confirmed or did you take it off MTLS? As far as I'm aware it was like this. Garnet was only successful until he became a Gem really. Then schadenfreude destroyed his shell, and left him in pieces, so he stopped being a success the moment he turned into a gem. Roland and Vergilius as far as I'm aware, did not truly connect anymore after the second meeting, hell since the first meeting Roland considered him crazy for having a dream like that or at least, when Roland asks him about his dream again, Vergilius downplays it, as if giving the impression he doesn't care as much anymore, much to Roland's lamentation that perhaps if his dream was reality, things would have been better, and he just leaves in silence. I think Vergilius was just gathering as much info on the singularity as possible to sell off to try and start making his dream a reality, not just "gonna destroy as much of the city", since he'd be killed super quick if he tried even with his new powers. As for the eggs, I assume most of what we know about it is left up in the air, and is pure speculation so far. It seems to be a new phenomenon spawned from the second shining of the light thanks to the Library. The most examples we have of it is thanks to the experiments done by the ring with the singularity, but it can naturally occur in the wild as well. As far as we're aware, there's no difference between it and regular distortions/EGO gain, and we also don't know if the sin beasts aren't just mere distortions with specific names so far, since nothing of note was shown about them. Also, wasn't it causing a distorted person to go against their own desire? If I remember correctly Vergilius forced the Maestro to try and overwhelm with lines, instead of mere dots, which were his obsession and desire, so once he realized what he did, he imploded. And as for Carmen, I got the impression she genuinely just believes pushing people to the brink and distort is better because it falls in line with her new ideal of "being true to yourself", and forcing yourself to be upstanding and just is just going to bring you suffering, much like how she experienced it thinking that self sacrifice would be enough to offset her desire to live once the results showed up.

I went back and reread it before posting this reply in order to ensure I spread no misinformation On the case of Garnet, it is kind of weird, we know from Garnet’s identity as a Ring Member that turning people into gems was the goal, yet, Jumsoon seems disappointed when Garnet goes into the cocoon. My best guess is that Garnet was going to be used as a lab rat to finalize the singularity so that they could turn people into gems. For the part about Vergilius and Roland, I agree that that they had no real deep connection, but Roland does tell Vergilius he wishes Vergilius’ dream could come true. As for the part about destroying the city, I am referring to the line after Vergilius’ office is murdered by taboo hunters where he says “Now that I have lost everything, I have to leave this place, cut down everything, and go to where I want to go because this city needs to be punished”. As for the cocoons, Carmen says that they happen when you hide away to discover yourself. She also says “You can either come out of the egg, or be eaten by sin and left as nothing but dregs” Vergilius follows up by asking if it is different from Distorting and she replies that the children in the lab who turned into the sin monsters have come to represent their sinful natures. It also mentions in episode 17 that Jumsoon went into the cocoon before distorting. We know he distorted because he is referred to as “Distorted Jumsoon” in future episodes Vergilius asks the question that if distortion is fully accepting ones desires, what happens if that desire were to collapse? In the next line Jumsoon turns into an abnormality As for Carmen, it’s really up to your interpretation of her character. I based my interpretation off of her Lobotomy Corp characterization.

Exellent video. Fixers are such a fun and interrsting concept in a dystopia like the City. It sort of adds a new spin to the whole megacorps owning all services in lack of state-endorsed ones, and reconizes stuff like small and medium companies and freelancers into the cyberpunk world. The Thumb withdrew from the L Corp nest after Kalo died in the Library. Kalo is probably on the run right now, because the Thumb will probably punish him for his incompetence shown when he underestimated the Library and died along with several high-ranking Thumb members. The Thumb is really big, and the loss of just one Sottocapo whose responsibilities were mostly constrained to one district won't slow them down for long.
what’s it like to not only be able to explain concisely a huge amount of slightly obscure information, but also sound real good doing it?? HUH??? this was nice and pointed out some things about association sections that i didn’t think very hard about on my own play through good night Mana.
The association details are really easy to gloss over, but once you stop and take a moment to listen past the new nouns, it’s a whole fleshed out system.
I feel like bringing Yujin and Shi Fixers as an example of affiliates is not very accurate. They work directly in Shi association. Better example would be Streetlight Office working under Zwei
Since this video came out to now we have (kinda) met a member of the Cinq Association thanks to Limbus Company and an Identity added in Season 2. They seem to be focused on dueling and based on the uptie 3 story they may pick up a client while in the Backstreets or Nest when a fight breaks out then have payment sent to them afterwards.
I thank you for deciding to make this video series, it helps a lot to introduce new people to this universe. I cant stress how difficult it is to gather up all the info and facts about this universe and present it in a concise, but non-diminutive way while maintaing attention and cohesion. If you dont mind me asking, where did you get the info that ayin and benjamin did the smoke war? I ve read wonderlab, dd, leviathan, played and scooped around in lob corp and library, even in the artbooks and I couldnt find that connection. Is there somewhere else that has the info? Or did I not search it right?

I'm a bit confused: it seemed to me that Leviathan showed people who were killed in the library coming back to life, and indeed it seemed like that was Angela's goal with the good ending. Roland disrupted it, so it was a bit vague how successful it was, but we did see Tomerry and Purple Tear at the very least. Wouldn't basically everyone we fought except for the Reverberation Ensemble be alive at this point(and them only because we fought them again at the end)?
if i'm not mistaken, when roland took angela out of the light disrupting the restoration process, people turned into books were still revived and dropped off somewhere in the city, but since angela couldn't control the process they won't necesarily reappear "where they belong" as she originally intended and instead started being just dropped off wherever (and there's also the fact that since the moment in which they are brought back isnt controlled, someone could appear in the backstreets at 3am and become instant sweeper food), so all guests minus the ensemble survived the library, but we dont know if everyone survived reappering in who-knows-where and who-knows-when

Everyone is alive as far as we know. The only con is that everyone is stated to return at some point, not all at once.
