I have a few SOGs. I got the Big Bowie, Tech Bowie and the XR Terminus. The Pillar is the only one that I would use without worrying it's going to break. Glad they got ready of the big fat SOG branding. I think the choil on a bowie is for yanking the blade out of a meat bag.
The first thing that put me off was the steel. There’s many debates about steel, s35vn is great steel for an edc folding knife but if you are marketing a hard use tactical knife surely a tougher steel it warranted, there’s a few that come to mind that equal the edge retention of s35vn but take more punishment. Toughness may not be needed but it’s nice to have it in a situation where tactical is the key word. If this knife was in 3v I think it would be better for the toughest task, its not as bad as some people think in the stainless department either as I have found out.
I love my pillar and have a variety of knifes just for the reason of different steels, I can choose the knife with the steel suited for the use I intend to use the knife for. That said, use the knife you have accordingly should you be using it for a task it may not be best suited for.
The rivet is in the right place. Some knives put the rivet too close to the apex. The ergonomic looks are awesome. The steel is fantastic A very good looking knife.
This knife looks impressive. The only thing that throws me off is the hollow grind. I am sure it does fine for small, everyday cutting tasks, but I am looking for a blade in this profile and a high end stainless to carry while kayaking, as a lower maintenance woodscraft knife. I am really hesitant to jump on anything hollow ground for potential hard chopping or batoning. I know they are slicey, but they don't have the meat behind the edge to take abuse, in my experience. I beat up a Cold Steel SRK pretty quickly the last time I took a hollow grind into the woods...
You can get these for $135 if you know where. I really like mine too. I do wish the choil was rounded, or even better, eliminated, and have a full length edge.
@@HeavySetTactical409 get it!!! 😎 I got the stainless version on AMAZ for $154 total, Then saw another comment on a video from couple weeks ago saying midway had it for 119, I looked at it and it was $99 so I got another one! Hahah I'll probably keep the stainless for the collection and the blackout for a user! 🥳😁🤷
The steel make that knife a winner but it has a fantastic design and looks to really be comfortable, I'll be looking into one for myself it some nice to look at.,and the sheath is cool to. 🔪🔪🔪🔪
I bought the blackout version a few weeks ago on MidwayUSA for a sweet deal of $119.99 & it instantly became one of my favorites.

This is IMO the best small combat knife ever made.

dude the sheath is what sells the whole package i carry it daily if im not using my bark river bushcrafter
2:13 NOT hollow ground. Hollow grind is concave. This is a flat grind.
You obviously never bought a brand new Mora Knife.
They come so Razor sharp I could shave my face with it - which I did.
Without a doubt, Mora makes the best bang for your buck.
Nuntnfancy is like the choil sucks it cuts into ur hand...lol
