    Just starting Portugues on Basuu. It is an online course. I get a lot of support from many Portugueses who are learning to speak and write English. They correct me and I correct them. This was a great learning video, and you will see more of me as I make my way through your videos.

    Bea, em relação às preposições, por que mudam assim?
    Você trabalha no sábado?
    Você trabalha aos sábados?

    • @PlainPortuguese
      @PlainPortuguese  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Olá! Gosto muito das suas perguntas! 😀
      Bem, no dia-a-dia, não pensamos muito na diferença entre 'no sábado' e 'aos sábados'. Quando nos referimos a uma ação habitual, que ocorre com frequência, devemos optar pela preposição a, seguida do plural do nome do dia da semana (Este restaurante abre aos domingos, mas fecha às segundas.) No entanto, na fala, também usamos 'em' (Este restaurante abre no domingo, mas fecha na segunda.)
      Por outro lado, quando a ação ocorre uma vez ou esporadicamente, sem regularidade, a preposição que devemos usar é em e, por se tratar de uma ação singular, o dia que se segue à preposição deve também estar no singular (Vou trabalhar no domingo = Vou trabalhar no próximo domingo). Aqui, não usamos 'aos domingos'.

    Eu não comprendo, é obrigatório colocar a contratação EM+A? Eu não posso dizer "A festa é o sábado"? Só com artigos definidos

    • @PlainPortuguese
      @PlainPortuguese  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Olá, Joel. Tudo bem?
      Há algumas opções que podemos usar.
      1. A festa é *sábado.* (sem o artigo)
      2. A festa é *no sábado.* (com preposição e artigo)
      Vamos usar *o sábado* quando falarmos do dia em si, em que é conveniente salientar o dia da semana, por exemplo,
      1. *O sábado* é um dia sagrado em algumas religiões.

    Normally, in Romance languages, the weekdays are called the days of the moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, and Venus, but not in Portuguese. Why not? Because names of weekdays in Portuguese come from Catholicism, not Paganism.

    I still confused ,how can I use (a, o) for male and female!!!
    that depends on me or on the noun!!!
    And where the best position for them before the subject or after???!!!

    • @PlainPortuguese
      @PlainPortuguese  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Olá! All nouns that refer to things have genders in Portuguese, regardless of the speaker. For example, 'mesa' (table) will always be a feminine noun 'a mesa'. 'Parque' (park) will always be 'o parque', regardless of the speaker.
      Nouns that refer to people will vary in gender, regardless of the speaker. For example, 'médico' (doctor) will be 'o médico' if we are talking about a male doctor, and 'a médica' when talking about a 'female doctor', again, regardless of the speaker. 😊

    Por que se pronuncia a “u” na “quarta”, mas não na “quinta”? 🤔

    • @PlainPortuguese
      @PlainPortuguese  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A letra Q tem um comportamento peculiar em português. Estou preparando uma aula sobre ela, mas já vou adiantando que o Q sempre será seguido da letra U, e a letra U sempre será pronunciada nas sequências QUA e QUO e às vezes nas sequências QUE e QUI.
