You should do what Mythbusters failed to do. The myth was that an army wielding only mirrors stopped invading forces. This must have been mistranslated, because I don't believe that it was actually mirrors, but essentially glass formed like a magnifying glass. This would lead me to believe if you used a large enough magnifying glass you would be able to focus the light in a way to sink a wooden ship. Now I know you don't have the resources like Mythbusters did, but you could still test this out on a smaller scale. Use a small pool of water, and make a wooden ship. Then use multiple magnifying glasses focused on one point and see what happens.
Someguy098 more like concave Mirrors. A magnifying glass would have the focus point so close it would be useless for long range. There are several channel covering convex mirror already and used them to burn stuff from some range away. The one covered by mythbuster assuming they can only have polished bronze as their most common mirror at that era.
Weedle Guy correct! myth busters didn't use the circular convex mirrors, which is why they didn't get the same results.

Hi Grant, I’m also building stuff and making experiments. Last night I got an idea: You could challenge us to build something and after the deadline you rate our stuff.
For example:
We have 14 days to build a car without an engine, that still drives more than 10 meters and make a video of it. Than we send you our videos and you rate it and elect a winner.
You might be like it and you also would help small youtubers to grow a little bit. I would appreciate an answer :)

You should upgrade the cannon so its bolt action so when you pull the bolt back it openes the chamber and you can put in a rocket or whatever and they you can pull the bolt forward and fire :D
kalle olson You know its not compatiable with an cannon that is air powered ? You sadly cant just put in a thing and fire it if its an airsoft / mortar system.
Lejten What I meant was that it is just an air tight chamber for faster reloading
I'm building a bolt action combustion rifle inspired by these where the bolt is the air pump system. I'm custom 3D printing part of the bolt system, but there are ways to do it without that. (if you want to try, you need access to a table saw. )

its a combustion or air cannon, it requires time for the chamber to fill with air/alcohol (depending if its air or combustion) and then reload the proyectile.
Put jelly beans in the vacuum chamber. It might be cool because if you look closely at jelly beans they have little air bubbles in them

Well if its melting point only like 20 degrees celsius below zero, it obviously will just like it will if you leave it out during a cold night... Nothing too interesting.

if you used the pull tab mechanism you used for the smoke grenades you could use this to improvise some sort of hand held long range firework launcher
