Nice review, one comment as every tester misses this - although the infotainment is dial biased when on the move, you can change the CarPlay settings so that it is full touch screen all the time
I bought mine couple weeks ago, mine is a 3.3 Ltr petrol Azami Sp. If you are expecting a very smooth and comfortable ride then this car is not for you. I love a bit firm and rigid ride so I don't have any issues with it. I love the way it sounds and goes around the corners. Pros: 1. Pulls decent 2. Good gear transition 3. Good visibility all around 4. Comfortable seats 5. User friendly infotainment system 6. Nice sound system 7. Responsive steering 8. Adaptive cruise control system is handy 8. 360 degree camera is pretty accurate 9. Very responsive braking system. 10. Spacious interior and boot space. Cons: 1. Not enough sound proofing 2. Hungry for fuel 3. Windows get foggy very easily 4. I-stop isn't the best 5. Interior plastics are very delicate 6. Sunroof only opens halfway 7. Fake exhaust tips are the biggest turn off. In the end I will say it's not for every one, specially who are after a comfortable family ride. The exterior is dope. It's not too flashy. It looks far better in person. Again it depends on personal preferences. Over all I am very satisfied for the price I have paid for it. Yes! you could go with other European and Korean brands but I believe in Japanese reliability. Would recommend it to someone who likes a bit of spirited driving with practicality.
It does have a touchscreen whilst on carplay and Android auto. It's a setting you need to turn on. So surprised every reviewer still keeps getting it wrong.
I took the diesel GT for a test drive a couple of days ago. Fit and finish is very good and most of the touch points are soft. I'm waiting on the plug-in GT to make the most of Government incentives and novated lease bonuses. The larger screens are standard in the plug-in hybrids. The drive certainly feels more Euro influenced.
@@trojanhman8136 I agree, I too have rethought about buying an EV for the many issues that seem to unfold such as early battery degeneration by as much as 60% if you don't follow the strict recharging regimes which is different in many makes of EV
@@majorrgeek Thank you. I get very little if any support. There are significant issues at every point around the introduction, production, safety, charging, costs etc etc etc with EVs. Making a cultural shift to produce more premium products is commendable. Let’s hope Mazda’s service centre can lift their game to the next level to meet the aspirations of their premier purchaser.
@@gogeorgia707 Lexus is not all that premium car - this CX90 is totally over priced and it is obvious Mazda rather than fitting CX9s with inline sixes as they should have from the start they are psychotically driven to make new model to compete with Mercs and BMW which it won't -
@7:56 I think you mixed up hp and kW for the lower spec diesel on the right size, should be 209hp I guess. Interestingly in EU both diesel are also rated to 2500kg of towing capacity. Maybe they adjusted it in the meantime since you filmed?
I test-drove the diesel version of this car yesterday. The power, interior design, and exterior appearance are impressive. It felt great driving on flat roads. However, the road noise was quite loud when driving over coarse chip at speed. It's not a quiet highway cruiser; instead, it's loud and boomy. The suspension feels cheap and doesn't effectively absorb bumps or road imperfections. Additionally, there was a small rattle in the dashboard. Overall, I would not recommend this car yet, but I'd like to one day, after Mazda do the engineering properly, and address the asking price. Its unresolved.
Looks good Mazda and I'm liking the specs on the diesel. Not sure about this trend towards massive wheels however. Have the Mazda engineers driven on many Australian roads ? Thanks for the review.
I have noted one MASSIVE disadvantage is the price, totally overpriced for what it is - In Australia Mazda CX9 begins $47,600 while the CX90 will begin at $74,385 - this is an increase of a whopping 56% and totally unjustified when you calculate the total package - this is ridiculous considering Mazda's CX90 is advertised as CX9s replacement which it obviously is not - it is also obvious Mazda Corp. is trying to outdo the German brands like BMW well good luck not with my money
@@MrGenAiMan yes the CX90 is even more overpriced than CX60 - I have driven CX60 and I would not describe the ride as premium or luxurious , far from it - the suspension is jittery and unsettled somewhat quirky and prone to rabbit hopping I also found the steering is vague and felt unaligned and the regenerative braking and transmission changes at low speeds can be felt and is too obtrusive - this is not a premium car, is overpriced and would sell to anyone who likes glitter more than substance
Love the RWD bias but it's weird they went to a 6 when they didn't even give us the 2.5 turbo in lower spec CX5, I don't want a heavier car just to get the turbo I hope they come out with a RWD only option instead of the usual FWD.
Well considering the CX-5's most popular models around town are the Akera and GTSP that both top out between $58-$61K, a jump of $10K for the GT CX-60 isn't that much considering the amount of new tech, new engine options all in a fully redesigned body.
@@rockablity_hound1716 im not saying it’s over priced, but how many people can afford is what I’m trying to say. 8-90K for a mid size SUV….. I would say the CX5 still will be a good friend to most Australia family
Serious issue with the ride quality ... if that isn't solved soon, many owners are selling their CX-60 ... and are searching for a different brand. After 25 years driving Mazda's ... this broken CX-60 is destroying my connection with Mazda. Premium? NOT AT ALL ...
We bought a MAZDA CX-60, and it has been a terrible experience. We’ve had problems every day. In just six months, we’ve had to bring it in for recalls and software resets five times. The value has already dropped by $10,000. Please don’t buy the CX-60. My wife spoke to the General Sales Manager, Robert, Mt Gravatt but there was no resolution. He was polite, but nothing was accomplished.
Unfortunately this car is a pile of junk, the car is noisy, crashy ride, poorly built with little insulation. The windows steam up if parked for an hour. The technology in the car doesn't work, driver recognition is a joke. The noise from the boot with rattles etc are unbearable, the lane assist is so aggressive it's dangerous and cannot be permanently disabled. The doors feel like paper when opening/closing. I bought a CX5 and a CX60 a month ago and I hate the CX60, the CX5 is great, wish I had just bought two of them.

Very nice review, mate.
This might be a new CX5 here in North America considering the proportions and evolution of design to the current cx5
Hey, do your research better, the evolve’s instrument cluster can not be upgraded, and a simple setup option give Apple car play touch screen.
Was a mistake at 7:58? Both diesel powers

Azami, sounds like lexus’ high end takumi trim. Coincidence?
Here in the EU there is no pure petrol of this car only the diesel and plug in and also the trims are very different.
As HYUNDAI and KIA are no longer offering the Turbo Diesel, Mazda 6 cylinder Diesel is the only option, but at a price.
