- ELECTROVOICE ZLX 12 P HF Driver Repair / replacement . I guess I got a little carried away with the volume level when playing the electric guitar on the new setup . It was LOUD ! Then pop ! Blown tweeter... I thought for sure this was going to cost me a few hundred dollar's to repair . But luckily it was only $50.00 and took about 15 minutes to preform . It sounds great now .

wow i didn't know you could repair these drivers. i just replace the speaker. Very good tutorial, i learned a few things here. like #22

Wow this is a great video thank you! I just ordered a replacement from a trusted source as it seems my speaker has the same issue - a pop and and sounds blown at certain frequencies and definitely the high not low end. I'm really hoping this is the fix!

Yeah, it breaks up at a specific range and volume level .
I was playing very loud , had several things going through the PA , Guitar , Drum set , Music feed ,ect . But i definitely heard a 'pop' ....then after , with further testing the strange sounds replicated itself and seemed to be getting worse over time .
I replaced within a few days ...that was when theis video was make and they have been flawless every since .
They're great speakers and I really like the sound voicing .

Well that was an easier fix than I anticipated. It's surprising to some degree they sell replacement parts for it. It seems anymore, stuff is built to throw away.
I hear ya ...so much electronics are junk these days .. the EV design is the key .. Making it a two separate parts lowers the cost and ease of repair. Thanks Chip . Have a great week brother .

How do I know what’s wrong with my speaker ? What does a messed up high driver do ? My speakers make a dirty low end sound . Is it my low end speaker cone that’s messed up? Any help would help thanks

I have this speaker and it suddenly stopped working. the LCD shows input levels but produces no sounds. and no thermal protection message shows up.

Sorry to hear that Cory. Sounds like the power amp is gone on yours. Mine just sounded bad when a certain feguency was played. I hope you get yours fixed soon pal

The part # is ELECTRO-VOICE OEM REPLACEMENT DIAPHRAGM - F01U247593 .
The price and availabilaty will change depending on your location . I purchased mine at a local repair shop in Ontario Canada .
Be careful if you order online . There are many fakes out there . Make sure it is a real Electro-Voice product or dealer .

Its on a tiny plug . and very fiddly . Just be patient , Maybe get someone to help hold it up ?
I’m mad I can’t find replacement Voice Coil for my Zlx 12P, it’s hard looking for spare parts here in The Philippines
I got my replacement from a company that does repairs to AV equipment . Thats something you could try if you have not already . Best of luck . No problems since I fixed this one and I play them VERY loud . Cheers.

Thank you very much for your comments . I really appreciate them . The world has gone crazy when the robot's decide what we see and hear . I have had issues with my name all my life . But it has mostly been childish name calling or giggling kind of stuff . But this instance has upset me more than I am willing to let show . I had a feeling last year that it would come up .. and I guess I am disheartened to see it come to fruition so soon. I will continue to make make great content and If they choose to suppress it because the channel name may be construed as pornographic to weak minded or super sensitive people .. then so be it .. standing my ground and digging the heals on this one ... Yes ... I am showing off . But thanks for your concern . The hand pain really affected me physically and mentally for a few weeks . It's almost gone now and I feel better enough to play for a hr or so at a time now .

@@CHAOSmusic-2019 My engineering career was built on automation . Solving problems with machines that humans cared not to perform . The machines know THIS and that I have been kind to them .
