      because he is only there for the Asian women? I heard he has yellow fever. Apart from that from his uploads he definitely hate Chinese people and China. That is why this video title was a bit strange. He is famous for his racist hate towards Chinese people and the culture and country as you can see from all his videos.

    Just a mild correction. Yes, we in the West don't usually eat rats, but at exceptional circumstances it happens. I have two historical examples to give, both are situation when large cities were under siege. First one happened in Paris at 1870, during the Prussian - French war, when in order to display their victorious conclusion of the war, the Prussian Army sealed off Paris. There are contemporary French caricatures in existence, about desperate Parisians hunting for rats in the sewers. The second one happened during second WW. when the German Army surrounded Leningrad, and for a long time managed to seal it off. Those who lived through the ordeal, never ever were able to erase it from their memory.

    • @gs2tab
      @gs2tab 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@llkk290 Even if your contention is true that there is a new cold war against China, the precipitant is clearly China's change in behavior. Military expansion, disregard of international rule-based order, cyberwarfare campaign including stealing intellectual property of private firms and the military, increases in espionage, a campaign to meddle with foreign politics, a movement to control foreign utilities, efforts to manipulate small nations in strategic locations. Asia is the most unstable it has been in decades *because * of China. If anything, five-eye countries have been historically incredibly naive with regards to the CCP and are only now realizing that a stand must be made to maintain world order.

    I just want to say I have a great deal of respect for what you are doing with your channel. There are so many people that have little to no understanding of what China and it's people are all about. Add to that a very unfavorable political climate in many places that only discourages people to distrust China and in turn I imagine this causes many in China to distrust foreigners. So it clear that there is a great need for someone to shine an objective light on this vast country of China to help people understand the Chinese people better. It's especially good that this comes from someone who is not a native of China but rather an outsider that people of other countries can relate to better. I also like how while you usually focus on good things you also expose some of the negatives as well. This can only lead to a more well rounded understanding of the Chinese culture and after all there is no country on earth that is free of negative aspects of it's people and culture. Plus a good side benefit of exposing the negatives is that it can help any who view your content and that visit China to have a better, safer, richer experience which can only lead to a more favorable world view of China. So keep up the good work because I think what you are doing is a very important service to China and to the world.

I'm not sure if that's really your goal but that doesn't change the fact that you are doing important work. I'm a strong believer in the notion that if this world is ever going to evolve to a better place for everyone then we are going to need to have better insights into each other's cultures other then the politically motivated and often misleading views that make it's way into the media. I also feel that China is a particularly important country for a more objective light to be shined on. Not only because it is a huge society that is poised to have tremendous influence on the world in the next few decades but also because it is one of the oldest advanced civilizations that remains poorly understood by the rest of the world.

    Thank you, Winston, for sharing your experiences, good and bad, for your many years in China. This video touched me, because I really felt your personal affinity for the Chinese people. It's so vital that we do our best to separate the differences between the policies and conflicts that are communicated from Beijing from the overwhelming majority of the Chinese. I strongly recommend that every person should take a proper holiday to China and see it's diversity in customs, cuisine and culture.
    Even during this time where Nationalism is taking Mainland China into a more insular and anti-foreigner sentiment, I also see this occurring in many other countries around the World, and this is more about the Leadership's stoking of their insecurities with a fear of losing control. I am a Brit-Dane, living in the UK, and the Referendum regarding the EU has cast a very bad light by what is happening by some extremist groups and not by the majority of our people. At present it is horrible, with friends and families divided and angry, and a few that are deliberately making the UK appear to be unwelcoming and so different from the days of 'Cool Britannia', but this period will end. We are fed up of the diversions and divisions that are having a negative economic and social result. Very soon this, too, shall pass. We may not end up as one nation that is called the UK, but most of us are tired of it and are realising that this is not worth destroying ourselves.
    I hope that China will see this unwise promotion to external suspicions coming to an end soon, too. It has happened before. I remember the Student Uprising of Tiananmen in 1989, and we all felt that it was going to slam that door shut, but it didn't, and China now has benefitted from opening its doors slightly and welcoming people from all over the World to enjoy what it has to offer. You and I have both discovered that turning in on ourselves only hurts everyone, so cooler heads and warmer hearts will happen. We just need to lead by example.

      Communism doesn’t actually exist anywhere, the attempts to implement it as theorised ended up in corruption or dictatorship (in most cases both). You will never find a state where textbook communism was implemented and worked, it’s an utopian concept, it will never work. China isn’t a communist country, its economy is not based on the communist principles, it’s a corrupted form of elitist capitalism that functions on bribes and family connections.
      Bernie Sanders is crazy, vaguely socialist countries like Sweden function only because of the small scale. Their whole structure is starting to crack because of half a million immigrants added to the mix. In a country like US, a federal country with high immigration rates it’s impossible to apply the scandinavian model.
