    I learn a lot through this video. Thanks a lot. Just bought a S1H. So I'm still playing around with it and discovering as well. I have a question though: Would you recommend me to use auto focus when shooting V-Log? cause it's a bit hard to monitor the focus on the small size monitor of the camera; unless I add a 7 inch external. Hearing your advice. Thanks in advance.

    • @NatesFilmTutorials
      @NatesFilmTutorials  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, I haven’t used autofocus on the S1H enough. While I would want to use it in some instances, I can’t rely on it. So I manually focus with my sigma art lenses. And I always use V-Log.
      The natural or flat profile would be better for the contrast based AF, but not by a great deal.
      Hope this helps

    You showed focus peaking at wide aperture I think. I wonder if it becomes to spread out at smaller aperture. I have some old Sony cameras where focus peaking starts and ends when the lens is way out of focus, so you have to guess the focus point.

    Hey man! Awesome video!! Quick question for ya! I have a lumix S1 and love it. However I feel sometimes the VLOG footage can still come off a bit grainy even at 640 iso. Maybe it’s my colour grading? Do you recommend always shooting 10bit in VLOG or is it more wise to film in 8bit? Thanks so much man keep up the great work

    • @NatesFilmTutorials
      @NatesFilmTutorials  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are shooting V-Log always record in 10 bit. Otherwise you might run into color banding. As far as noise, you probably need to expose a touch brighter in camera and then bring t by e image back in post. I haven’t encountered too much noise with the S1. You could also update to the latest firmware and see if that helps

      Hi Stefano! haha I totally get it. Currently, there is not way to get rid of it completely. My solution is to make the box as small as possible by zooming in 20x and then moving it to the corner of the frame behind my waveform. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done for a clean layout. Hope this helps!

    • @NatesFilmTutorials
      @NatesFilmTutorials  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question! The answer is it depends. The S1H has a fantastic image and built to be a filmmakers camera. The A7siii delivers on 95% of those things, but offers more versatility. I ultimately chose the A7siii, as it better suited the wide variety of videos I make.

    Hello Nate, I just bought Panasonic Lumix S1H and Atomos Ninja V. My question here is how to set 4k 60 fps, where I cannot find in the settings and all I see is 50fps as the highest fps over all. I even upgraded my firmware to 2.1 thinking that I would get 60 fps in the option. I tired searching 60fps but can find it on the settings. Could you please help me out on this issue. Great video Nate. What lenses do you own and recommend for the S1H for shooting video only?

    • @NatesFilmTutorials
      @NatesFilmTutorials  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Shark I own the Panasonic 24-105 f/4 as well as canon lenses adapted with the mc 21 adapter. Which are the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8. 18-35mm 50-100mm and. Tokina 11-16mm.
      I would recommend going with the mc21 and picking up a 24-70mm f/2.8 as your first lens. It’s cheaper than what Panasonic offers and has a true manual focus ring.
      If you need autofocus then the 24-105 is a great lens to start off with. It’s sharp and f/4 on full frame still offers nice shallow depth of field

    bro worst video explainin ever!
    You don't start in order and you don't explain where you are on the menu, such as, "Now we are in the blablabla part ...".
    one has to pause the video and see and do magic to realize where you go because you don't go in order either, and you don't leave time to see which part you jumped after since you make cuts through editing, and you assume that the viewer , knows where in the menu you are. It is stupid that you do it this way since the menu of the camera is very cumbersome in itself, something that you yourself have admitted in your video.
