You need to watch "So Beautiful" by DPR IAN. It is a song he made during one of his maniac phases.
He recently said in an interview that he didn't remember filming the B&W portion of that video as he had transitioned into his depressive (MITO) phase and had blacked out, coming to after having already done three takes. He also stated he had to heavily edit tht portion of the video.
@Rionnagan Actually it wasn't just a depressive phase he said in his latest live that he has D.I.D : Dissociative identity disorder. So Mito is not just a character but a real personality "person". So Mito is no longer a character now that we know everything

DPR Ian aka Christian Yu is a Korean-Australian singer. He's the founder of the Dream Perfect Regime. DPR is not a boyband; they are a collective group of musicians and directors who make their own content. There's DPR Live, DPR Cream, and DPR Rem. Ian used to work behind the scenes as a director, producer, and chief editor at DPR. Ian and Rem shoot and make MVs for other artists to help fund all of their projects. Fun fact: Kiss Me + Neon directed and edited by Ian.

He also just announced he has DID, dissociative identity disorder. Which adds a whole different perspective to his music.
I found it super interesting you mentioned multiple personality disorder (now known as DID), because I always thought the same about his content. He recently revealed that he does have DID as well. It makes all of the content so much more clear!

He always speaks extensively about his episodes and things he goes through. It’s really amazing and helps so many people understand and relate to what they are going through. Plus he is hot. DPR Ian has an absolutely brilliant mind. He's one of my top favorite artists. I truly hope you deep dive into his work. You won't be disappointed. Also his interviews with JREKML and Zach Sang are incredibly interesting. He describes his mental health and creative processes. His brain is just pure art.
You need to watch all of their MVs. They are absolute masterpieces. He recently released "So I Danced" and that one will tickle your senses as much as this one. DPR team is ICONIC. I don't know of any other artist that has created an entire universe with their music. He stated they have enough to provide music and story telling for the next 10 years. They're just amazing!
Hello Roscoe! Omg! YES!!! DPR IAN work is so amazing, you will not waist your time! His MVs are connected because it is telling the story through his albums, so you might want to start from beginning. Probably the first MV you should start with is “So beautiful”, then “Nerves”, “Scaredy cat”,
You already watched “No blueberries”. Those are all from his first album of Mito series. Mito is a main character in those first and second albums. Second album “Mood swings in to order” is amazing too! For second album he made one short film “Mito”, which highlights 4 songs out of 12. Once you start digging dipper in to Ian’s world, it gets more and more interesting.

The MITO short film (4 songs MV) and Memories in Disorder (a short docu) explain a lot about his personal struggles and journey. He's not only an amazing artist but also a fascinating human.

So yes, he is Ian! You should be aware of some things about him and his work:
1. He is the director of the DPR Label, he directs his own music videos and also DPR LIVE’s music videos. He is super talented.
2. He suffers from bipolar disorder II and he produces his songs about it. He himself divides his work in 3 stages, 3 different people/personalities.
He has MITO, Insanity and Ian. Ian is when he is feeling ok, not during a maniac stage. MITO is when he’s going through a depressive episode. And Insanity is when he is going through a maniac episode.
If you watch MIITO movie, you’ll be able to see MITO. He portraits the depressive feelings of IAN when he’s during that stage. Ian himself told us that the 3 of them are different and they are contrasting personalities. Sometimes a personality can “take control” for hours, days or weeks. He himself says that sometimes he feels more schizophrenic than bipolar.
MIITO movie is a great work. He couldn’t pick one song to make an MV about so he just made one compilation, if we could call it that.
Peanut butter and tears is the MV for his upcoming album which is gonna portrait Insanity, it’s the first album that Ian is going to expose more about him.
So far we only got to know MITO. So each piece of work portraits one personality.
He also suffer from DID. Dissociative identity disorder.

Love that you're reacting to him! he's one of my favorite artists If you want to dive a little deeper in your free time or on stream I definitely recommend watching the Zach Sang Show interview or a new one that just came out with Jojo from 102 Kiss FM. Ian talks about this song a little more, explaining it, and talking about his bp in more present tense. It's a little quicker paced since it's kinda off a shorter interview. I think you will love how he talks about his art and disorder and how he carries himself.
DPR are insane!! Especially Ian, all of his works are crazy good. Definitely worth checking out his other stuff like the mini movie he did for MIITO (featuring a compilation of the songs from that album.)
Note that "Mito" is not just a character but a whole other personality of his (which he can't really control) and whenever he 'switches' he sort of blacks out, its really fascinating to hear him talk about it. He often produces songs during his episodes which is why they're even more interesting
DPR, the company has several artist, it is a collaborative started by Ian and one other artist where each member is in charge of something different. For example, Ian does all the videos for the artists. I enjoyed Ian's Zach Sang interview. He is a complicated man. I am still trying to figure out what the line, "My tooths been wiggling for years," means.
I saw someone else make the point that our teeth wiggle when our baby teeth are about to fall out and be replaced by adult teeth. In the video, Ian goes through the door and is a child being faced with a scary dentist holding tools to pull out his tooth and at the end he is an adult rubbing the area where his tooth was pulled. So maybe it's about growing up, maybe about an extended period of immaturity (the tooth has been wiggling for years, not quite ready to fall out on it's own) and then being forced to grow up (got that tooth yanked out painfully).

DPR IAN’s videos are honestly all just a delight, each for different reasons. I’d recommend them all, honestly, but the people suggesting “So Beautiful” as a continuation point are CORRECT, that is THE song and video i use to get people into DPR IAN 😂

And back again to say i really appreciate the choice to talk through your interpretation of his visual & directional choices in this. He’s in charge of the video elements for the DPR label’s mvs, trailers, and ads, so when he takes on his own solo projects it’s REALLY worth taking your time to absorb the stories and characters he depicts.
The characters he’s introduced us to so far are MITO and Mr. Insanity, and it’s pretty clear that they’re representative of Bipolar highs and lows. I personally love the way he personifies them.
It is a little bit complex to understand bc his videos tell an story, I recommend you to watch the videos in order c:
