Firstly, thank you for reacting to DPR Ian. I hope to see more reactions to his music. So just to update on some info: Ian has both bipolar disorder (type 1) and Dissociative Identity Disorder. So Mito, Insanity aren't just characters created in order to personify his bipolar disorder but also real parts of his life. When Ian goes through his lows he is feeling the way he would usually feel in that state because it can go down in stages, however, when he reaches a certain point he ends up blacking out and switching with Mito his alter. He is able to switch with Mito at other times too. When he's moving towards his highs, he doesn't switch but just goes through a personality change and becomes more Insanity-like when everything seems to align for him. However if he goes too high (and that has to be a really intense situation like life or death) a switch can happen. He said it has happened 3 times so far. He talks about his D.I.D during his IG lives as well in an interview with Saywhatreacts. Also just to clarify, I know people use alter and personality interchangeably. But here alter is a more appropriate term to show that it's an altered state of consciousness. When I use "personality change" I mean that Ian is still Ian (no blackouts) but just different because of his manic highs. And it is true that he's not acting in the mvs. Whether it's Ian himself going through the lows or highs or an actual switch this all genuine. In the mv, Ian isn't playing the hybrid. Christian has stated that we haven't met that entity as yet. This video is showing the effects of Ian entering the Void in the Other Side and being influenced by the hybrid itself. The void is a place that stores repressed memories - both good and bad. When we see his eyes turning blue that's to show that the hybrid is influencing him. Also because of the hybrid's influence on Ian, it's also the starting point of Ian's journey into becoming Mr. Insanity.
Just to add to that, about his vocal range. When Christian becomes Mito his voice changes and can reach a much deeper range that only Mito can produce. Jre on his channel JREKML also has two part interviews with Christian as well Inside the Mind of DPR IAN | Part 1 Inside the Mind of DPR IAN Part 2 Also to add a bit of info on how D.I.D works - Christian doesn't become Mito. The more appropriate term would be switching. It's like Ian and Mito switching places with each other. So let's say Ian switches with Mito, then Mito is 'fronting' and in charge of the body. Ian could either be far back in the subconscious (probably asleep or maybe in the 'inner world') or it's possible to co-front i.e. be aware of what is going on in the real world and maybe even have an influence on what Mito is doing. When someone is co-fronting they are said to be co-conscious. And ofc vice versa if Ian was the one fronting.

He also shared that during his first tour, because of the stress and pressure he actually started switching between two more new personalities and it scared him af. Seems like these were temporary, but MITO is still there and he takes full control when the switch comes, while Mr Insanity is just a character he created to personify his manic highs.

I'm so terrible because I never pay attention to any lore or backstory or universe in MVs. I've tried, but my brain just doesn't focus. Anyway, to IAN's credit, I don't need everything to be fully explained to feel the emotions. I can understand that there's a struggle between highs and lows and discords from the music itself. I love their analyses. I didn't even consider the context of how Ian resolved the musical themes in this song, but it still leaves a sensation of tension and rebuilding stress.
My classical and jazz music knowledge is quite slim. However, I absolutely loved being able to see everyone dissect this song so beautifully, based on their musical knowledge. He does not have DID, he clarified that later.
