I had a Craftsman 16" that I used for years. For the home owner cleaning up / cutting a couple of cords a year you cannot beat the price. Just maintain it & you will not be disappointed. I just did a video of a non running trash pick 20" Craftsman that I cleaned up installed a $13.00 knock off carb & it runs great.
    Stay safe, Joe Z

I bought mine in 2003 before Hurricane Isabel hit. It still runs great. Replaced fuel lines, bar and chain and it now runs like new.

This video might have convinced me. I already have a 14" Husqvarna but it's a decade old and is starting to have carb issues at full-throttle. I don't feel like messing with it.
    New saw = easy.

Got mine today hard to start , chain was too tight, re adjusted waited a while after getting frustrated then came back like an hour later and did the starting procedure and she fired right up! Love it got a good deal on at Lowe’s but mine didn’t come with the box and extra chain…

I’ve had my craftsman 16” chainsaw for about 5 years now. The price is right. However, DEPENDING on how much you use it, spending twice as much on a Stihl or a Husqvarna is worth it, in my opinion. But hey, it’s lasted me 5 years...

I’ve had my 16” craftsman for 20 years. It still run great. Perfect for firewood and when I pinch my bigger saw, works great to cut it free. All you have to do it take care of it.

Chain tension depends on whether or not you have a hard nose or sprocket nose bar. Tiny droop on hard nose. No droop with sprocket nose....but you should be able to easily turn the chain by hand. I personally use a thumb and finger pinch and turn test. And remember to lift up on bar while adjusting chain and tightening the bar nuts.

Make sure to disassemble and clean it every few uses. Especially the bar rails and clutch. Sharpen the chain every session, grease the nose sprocket. I just picked up an Oregon advance cut chain for mine, should be better than the stock chain.

Sadly craftsman doesn't make tools like they used to, but some of the power tools made now are definitely worth the price. I've got a 2cyl handheld blower and trimmer from craftsman and they work just fine, though some tweaks had to be made for them to run effectively better but overall all's good. I've been using my old poulan chainsaw for my needs and has worked out quite well just for cedar and some oak, I have been thinking bout getting another chainsaw and from some of the reviews I've seen and read, craftsman chainsaws seem to be the way to go especially pricewise and for what i'd be using it for. Thanks for ur video, it has helped me make the decision on the craftsman chainsaw over some others I've looked into

These are made by MTD and sold under the remington and Troy Bilt labels but also get the craftsman label where ever craftsman products are sold.
Craftsman badged husqvarnas have a metal tag saying Husqvarna AB, Husqvarna Sweden, Poulan which is owned by husqvarna sold saws as craftsman doesn't have a tag but has a circled H stamped in various spots.
I've got a few the current mtd craftsman line of saws and had the Husqvarna/poulan line.
