I love this LMAO keep going!!!!! I am kind of uncomfortable sometimes in public when it comes to affection, it definitely has to do with how you've grown up. I kinda tie with both of you (how Luis isn't as affirmative). First with the affection in public, I never really had that growing up like we weren't huggy people or whatever. So it feels awkward or whenever, as kids (even with friends) we'd see people be affectionate its like "eww" or "bro they're so weird" like its a bad thing. Like someone would *always* say something about being touchy in public whether its holding hands or kissing. So you feel more comfortable doing it privately so people wouldn't say the same about you. It only really feels like a requirement sometimes since in my culture (chaldean) we have to kiss all the aunties at every family gathering and if not it's like disrespectful. Second with the affirmative, I also didn't really have that mom that was like "omg you look so good" or anything along those lines. It was more like she would just bring up what I should do instead. Its funny because I love getting affirmation but I may suck at giving it lol

i’m the same way, i don’t like being affection with my significant other around family or friends and i came to the conclusion that it’s because in my household when i was young its sounds bad but i lacked that around my parents like my parents weren’t affectionate to me, not to say they loved me lol but physical touch was and is not their thing it was more words of affirmation and i believe that that’s why im like that not only with me significant other but with friends and family too
