    I have been enjoying this series so far and there is good clarification here. But, the dietary laws are not 'Jewish', they are from Creation, and the 'Gentiles' were not just common pagans, they were the 'lost sheep of the House of Israel' that were 'lost among the Gentiles'. Many of which had already been converts to Judaism in seeking to be restored to the Covenant or 'Kingdom' (hence the teaching in the synagogues on the Sabbath). What they had lost in culture you can be sure they learned about in hearing 'Moses being taught every Sabbath day'. Acts 15

    Hi, thank you for sharing this video. I would like to know where can I get an outline of this study? I am going through a Bible study of this series too in my group. Thank you and God bless.

    [28:00] Mark 16 was added and not in the original gospel.

    • @bibletalktv
      @bibletalktv  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, in some of the manuscripts, however it was included in enough other legitimate manuscripts to be considered as part of the official canon. In addition to this, what this passage contains does not contradict or change the meaning of any other passage in the New Testament that deals with similar subject matter. It, therefore, confirms and agrees with what is said about the process of salvation explained in other passages like Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:36-38 and similar teachings.

    Mike, can you recommend a good study Bible? I'm on my second one, and they both get it wrong on baptism. It makes me wonder what else they're wrong about. I'm going through your lessons, in order, one-by-one. I read the required chapters in my study Bible, along with all the footnotes, and then watch your video. Problem is, I'm not 100% certain about the doctrine of these study Bibles. Help?

      I, personally, do not use a study Bible therefore not in a good position to recommend one. I can, however, say that the New King James version of the Bible and the New American Standard Version of the Bible are very good translations which are considered accurate to the original text by most conservative scholars.

      @@bibletalktv - Thank you sir, and thank you for the wonderful work you're doing. I have always been too intimidated by the Bible to just sit down and read it before. Thanks to you, that's exactly what I'm doing, and I'm not going to stop until I've read it cover-to-cover, with your help, chapter by chapter.

    considering the Church of Christ is being accused of being a legalist cult....I think you are not teaching everything this denomination stands for...

    can repentence make a sinful lifestyle....not sinful....ergo...adultery....

    • @bibletalktv
      @bibletalktv  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s only repentance if there is a forsaking of sin. Forgiveness takes care of the past, repentance is the approach to present and future conduct.

      Philip Buckley no it cannot UNLESS there is absolute repentance for what you have done and a confession of sin turns you away from that sin and you follow the teachings of Jesus "sin no more". To continue is to mock the Lord. To play christian is eternal damnation as God is not mocked. There is a deep deep change that takes place in the soul when you come to the Lord. However, it is not too late.

      So if one truly repents from all sin, forsaking All sin, then is he no longer a sinner in need of a savior? I'm confused. Jesus did say go and sin no more. I need a savior because I am a sinner. There are some sins I struggle with and no matter how bad I want to, how much I want to please God, how sorry and ashamed I am, I on my own can't stop. Maybe I am missing something?

    • @bibletalktv
      @bibletalktv  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@justin71ray There are many reasons we need Jesus, the most obvious is that He is God and the entire creation is held together by His will and word (Colossians 1:16-17). Aside from this we need Him because we are saved through Him initially (Mark 16:15-16) and continue to be cleansed of ongoing sin (which we will be afflicted with until we are resurrected with a glorified body no longer subject to sin and death - 1Corinthians 15:43). While here, however, Christians are forgiven for sin by appealing to God through prayer and as John says in 1John1:7-9, the blood of Christ continually cleanses us of all unrighteousness.
      One point that you mention is incorrect “..I can’t stop..” It would be more accurate to say that you have not yet stopped. We, as Christians know that with God, all things are possible. Every believer receives the indwelling of the Holy Spirit when he/she is baptized (Acts 2:38). Paul tells us in Romans 8:13 that we put to death the deeds of the flesh (sin) through the power of the Spirit. This is the way to deal with all sin.
