@melphillips1608 they are amazing, aren't they. We had two growing up. The first was so soft, calm, and docile, and then the second was just like Tigger, but with adhd😂

@evalisabowers8898 boxers are everything rolled into one dog. Think tigger off winnie the pooh, but he's also a huge snuggle bug and will have your back no matter what... with extra drool and kisses 🤣 they are the class clown of the dog world

She is a very confident dog. Most dogs would not jump and do obstacles for the first time through, the way she did. My dog pulls and walks on her back legs, no amount of correction works, she is so hyper focused

Sounds like you should keep trying. 99.99999% of behaviour issues can be corrected using positive reinforcement AND correction. If you haven't had success, it just means you still need practice. Keep working 😁.

Will, as always, so beautifully executed. Your ability to communicate what needs to be done, and why & how to do it is wonderful. If we keep working at it, following your spot on guidance, all of us can have the brilliant relationships we want with our dogs. You have a great gift that so many dogs & humans can benefit from, thank you so much for sharing & educating!

I have a question. I am using a gentle leader on my 1.5 y/o pit mix and he is a very eager boy. You mentioned the stages of teaching to walk on a loose leash and that the first stage should not last long, but I feel like I correct, get him walking next to me, re-enforce, then he back slides and starts to get ahead of me again. I correct, he's with me again, re-enforce, then about 5 seconds later he's distracted and getting ahead of me again. We walk everyday for about 30 minutes for the past 5 months and this is still a struggle. When do I get to stop walking in circles? Am I pushing him too hard? Should I shorten our training sessions? If I do that, how do I exercise him without undoing our training?

not really about this video for you have done what I love to see, a companion trained with out treats. I have a herding bread of an Aussie Shepard/Cattle mix. She is doing good on the lead and working on a fail proof recall. Here is my question, how do you get a dog that buries treats and is not interested in objects to get the triple reward for them? Thank you for all the insights that you may have for me. Please keep putting out the videos for all of my fur babies are learning things with every one.

I have a retriever who just won't engage with me on walks, the slip lead helps with direction changes but he won't look at me and continues to do his own thing, for recall he waits to be called back on the long line buts once he's off lead he's gone, he is just not interested in engaging with me

Looks bit like my boxador. Perfectly heels and everything, untill he sees another dog. I tried training this by quick snap on the leash etc doesnt work. Most of time he just starts laying down. Wont move untill the other dog is gone, or the owner is stupid enough to come to me. Even though they see me trying to pull and lure him away. And ignore the other dog.

I have to laugh cause my boston would just choke himself out in that first exercise before he even learned to engage. Choke collars for him are just nooses /_\ what else can I use that can still get that kind of attention? Treats work only when the treat is there. Even there after 5 mins of feeding he loses interest.. Diminishing returns and all that

You can't trust the web lmao..I my parents raised dogs and most of my photos were in a playpen with puppies. Most dogs in situations that are shown like this the dog will listen to a stranger without the owner. I have a GSD I have had him since he was 10 weeks old and now he is over 2 yrs now. Very smart listens to all my commands inside. Outside I am invisible and he becomes deaf. Dogs joggers bike rides omg. Took him to some GSD trainers and they were scared of him. So I am bewildered and I want one of these online so called trainers to prove they actually are worth a grain of salt and foolish people who subscribe to their trickery. I would be the biggest advocate. But my challenge has never been accepted lol.. think we know why. Wink
