1980s BBC Training Films - 'Presenter Auditions' Behind The Scenes Life at the BBC in the 80's

Internet was still in its early stages back in the late 1980s, so communicating about anything in such a big organisation like the BBC was a challenge usually achieved via internal memos. The best way to inform you about most things was through VHS, including auditions. In this audition various new talent was given a shot at being a presenter, this included being the main programme anchor, a co-host, giving a demonstration of something, interviewing and being the interviewee.
Here's a unique opportunity to see some that went on to become household names, such as Rob Curling and Anna Walker, who share their skill in front of camera for the first time. Also, giving it a shot is someone who ended up working on the other side of the camera on many DIY car shows!) rather than presenting, producer/director Jamie Langton (The Only Way is Essex, Craig Charles UFO Conspiracies, Top Gear, Car SOS, Wheeler Dealers) who shows us some early DIY tips on vehicle dent repairs.
