I used to work out there and Stadiums are not always full for some Saudi clubs because the tradition there is to watch it on tv… they’ve only recently opened cinemas but this doesn’t reflect a dislike for movies!… they’ve only recently are billions of Muslim football fans around the globe who go to Mecca for Umra regularly so it’s a growth market for them 400m Arabs and many Africans too… however your points about civil liberties are accurate…
The FIFA stadium hang-ups are just absurd... Technically speaking Uruguay could hast a WC by itself, FIFA could build say 2 stadiums and a plaza hotel setting in Montevideo. Saudi Arabia deserves an opportunity and I totally back the one nation host tournament.
One of my biggest issues is that the US can host the world cup literally by itself even at 40l8 teams. I'm trying to figure out how Saudi Arabia is going to even do this. Yes they have the money to build the stadiums and infrastructure forward, but I thought FIFA was trying to move away from that kind of thing. But then again never doubt the ignorance and corruptional FIFA either. But it's just weird that Saudi Arabia isn't co-hosting within the Arab world itself.
Saudi is by far the biggest country in the gulf… it’s huge… it has a football culture which precedes yours, why would it not host it alone?… the issue is, should it host it at all due to human rights concerns…
@Heavenatwork I get that, but if the president for a 48 team worl d cup was set that multiple countries with hosted so you could alleviate some of the financial risk in building stadiums and infrastructure. I mean if US and Mexico could easily host a 48 Team world cup on their own yet they still did it together
@@brentdavis555 Saudi is one of the few countries on earth indifferent to financial risk… also they will offset that against the the huge GDP, Tourism and inward investment boost of the tournament and still come out on top… the 2026 precedent was based on securing Conmebol & Concacaf votes… that’s not a concern this time…
Nothing has changed at FIFA…Sepp Blatter and Mr. 10% et al. should still be there…Infantino is no better…just follow the money and exploit all those who do the work…🙏🏼⚽️💪🏾🌈💙🇺🇸🇮🇹
