I lost my father in September of 1996 and I've laid in bed at night countless nights and listened to this song and cried myself to sleep missing him so much knowing I'd never have that special day with my dad walking me down the isle and giving me away I love you daddy and I miss you
me and my dad used to as close as two people can be, then my parents separated, its been about four years now and its like were strangers we dont talk much i dont ever see him and this song is mine and his song and it makes me cry everytime i hear it. I miss you dad and i love you more then you'll ever know
my dad loves this songs for the lyrics. and every time i hear it i almost start to cry. i imagne what i would do if he wasn't around or if i move out of the house or get married. if i'm mad at him i think of this song and i forget what we are arguing about. this song is a miracle for me
I personally know Tim through his wife; she was my first grade teacher, and i've been doing a lot of research on him and his music. I conducted an interview with him just last Friday and we talked about a lot of songs that he and Marty had a hand in. This was one of them.
this song only means that you GUYZ should treat all girls right!!! love them and care them carefully for they are their daddys princess... and dont make them cry nor hurt them.. for someday you GUYZ will have a baby girl soon....
Is Tim singin' the high harmony? Somebody let me know. The Raybons hit #37 in Billboard, 6-21-97. God bless ya, Marty and Tim. Hugs to ya, my brothers!
Mr. Chip Dave is actually mentioning the songs peak position on the country chart, and your telling it's peak on the pop chart (Hot 100)...Although the artists' and song are clearly country, the tune fared better on the pop chart...kinda strange, huh?...hehehe! Take Care & Happy Holidays! Elizabeth🎁🎄🎁🎄🎁🎄
I originally had this on cassette tape. This came out when I was a junior in high school and drove a brown 1987 Dodge Diplomat SE to school. I wore this tape out.
This is the best version of this song. I love this guy.
Very few ppl realize what dad's do and the worry that dad's face daily just to try to provide, protect as best they can.
❤these two brothers are so talented! Marty, you know I love you and I’m thankful for the beautiful talent that you both share! 😊
Marty Raybon has absolutely one of the best voices in country music
It took me 12yrs to find this version on youtube! Best version ever!
I forgot about this song until my father played it in the car, and he told me that this reminded him of me.
God Bless.
I know they didn't write it, but to me, this is the best version.
Bob Dylan wrote it I believe
@@erichoffmann3106 Bob Carlisle*
Marty Raybon and Bob Carlisle both put so much emotion into this song.

I thought this was the group Shenandoah when I first heard this on the radio. Marty’s voice is so recognizable.
Marty Raybon is the lead singer of Shenandoah
Was great with the group too!
Shenandoah would've had a massive hit with this song.
Definitely best version !!!
this song only means that you GUYZ should treat all girls right!!! love them and care them carefully for they are their daddys princess... and dont make them cry nor hurt them.. for someday you GUYZ will have a baby girl soon....
The dad HAS to be a Raybon brother.
This verison is the only one that makes me cry.

This is by far the best video.. I do like the other song better, though.
Marty is an awesome singer
