FAMAE's are awesome rifles. This is my 1st one in .223/5.56. While I consider this rifle to be generally overpriced relative to the competition given the now large .223 black rifle market in Canada, it is truly a classic rifle and a pleasure to own, handle and shoot. However, in recent months these seem to have made a comeback in value and collectibility now that the Sig550 style of firearms (Classic Green and Black Special) are to be re prohibited. The FAMAE 540 and 543 will be the only legal sig style platform in 223/5.56.
FAMAE also made their own SMG (SAF, MiniSAF, SAF200) that was patterned off of this platform (Chilean licenced the rights to domestically produce the Sig SG54X series), and appears to be somewhat inspired by the HK MP5 family.
The rifle featured is a FAMAE SG 543 and is legal to own in Canada with a RPAL. Being a restricted firearm, it is legal for me to discharge at approved ranges only.

I never heard of the FAMAE weapon systems untill your Instagram posts showing them. I'm quite interested in these rifles now. The .308 version especially. They're like... AK's with AR controls.
Tom K they’re great firearms. I’ve always been really impressed with their quality. Just the price they’re at makes them a difficult choice in Canada given all the options we have now. Still fantastic guns.

He probado la SAF Y MINISAF 9MM, ambas excelentes. La MINISAF mi elección 150mts efectivo, suficiente para el campo, pero no las venden a los chilenos que manera de no potenciar la industria.
Eso sí deberían ser para deportistas como tienen sistema semiautomático y tiro a tiro, tendría famae un nicho fijo.
Mientras los ilegales, delincuentes e insurrectos marxistas están armados hasta los dientes. Los ciudadanos honestos no podemos adquirir este tipo de armas como en EEUU y Canadá.

is the FAMAE 543 or 542 still legal in canada? or were they part of the ban?
The original Sig magazines are little thicker than the copies, more robust.
What kind of adapter to fit the ACR stock?
That's the GS Designs.ca stock. He also makes them for the SIG 55x platform.
Hey do you know of any places in canada selling the factory folding stock? Just recently picked up the rifle
How do you like this compared to the B&T APC223. Since this seems to be largely what is legal for restricted rifles (SBR) in 223 now.
