The unlock animations combined with the music gives me a Batman/Gotham City vibe.
The cops have cooler cars then the racers I kinda hate that
Well its a trade-off racers can customize & upgrade but cops cant, they're stuck with a stock car

As a racer, there are four cars that give me the most trouble by the time you reach heat level 8!
The McLaren F1, Agera R, Veyron SS and Venom GT.
Everything else is not a problem.

I never really understood why this game had certain cars only available on one side. Why can't all cars be available as both cop and racer kinda like in Hot Pursuit 2010? (Though Hot Pursuit also did kinda had the "exclusive to one side" thing too, like the Crown Vic only for the cops and convertibles such as the Porsche 918 only for the racers.)
maybe for asymetrical gameplay? counter-strike has done it before (like ak47 exclusive for bad guys and M4 exclusive for good guys).

@@govinlock8568 I like the asymetrical gameplay tho. Mclaren F1 for the cops vs P1 for the racers. or Koenigsegg Agera R for the cops vs One:1 for the racers. Fun to have them clash out and be rivals without being in identical cars
i like the enterance music for the racers, but the cops have better cars
Downside is police cars cannot be modified. But that's alright, as some performance upgrades are pre-installed (depending on variant) and could exceed the level available to racers.

@@maxwellhosea2724 No, the performance upgrades. Racers can upgrade every aspect up to level 5. Police are stuck to fixed state-issued configuration, though some aspects have higher level than available to racers. The configuration of each variants are:
Patrol variant:
• Level 7 Durability
• Level 6 Strength
• Level 1 Control
• Level 6 Acceleration
• Stock Top Speed
Undercover variant:
• Level 6 Durability
• Level 6 Strength
• Level 3 Control
• Level 2 Acceleration
• Stock Top Speed
• Radar Stealth. Invisible on maps until sirens turn on.
Enforcer variant:
• Level 8 Durability
• Level 7 Strength
• Level 1 Control
• Level 2 Acceleration
• Stock Top Speed
Best observed by comparing a fully upgraded racer Aston Martin Vanquish and all of its police variants, the only pre-DLC car available to both factions.

@@maxwellhosea2724 Henceforth it is better to outrun police than trying to wreck them. Conversely, bust racers as soon as possible before they accelerate faster than your top speed. Oh, and undercover units have radar stealth; they are invisible to maps until their sirens turn on.

The three variants have different specs, however:
• Patrol: best acceleration
• Undercover: best control and "radar stealth"
• Enforcer: best durability and strength.

It's kinda unusual and weird that the Carrera GT in this game has a V8 engine compared to the previous ones which had a V10 engine which made it iconic considering that the car itself was among the loved cars of the Black Box franchise.
Are you sure that the Enforcer and Undercover Carrera GT sounds like a V8? To me it feels like a NA I3 Engine.

When choosing assignments, each unlocks their corresponding variant. In your case, rank 2 Undercover assignment, "Who Owns The Roads". Word of caution: undercover variants' main weakness is strength and durability, in exchange for best control and "radar stealth" (you are not visible on map until involved in pursuit).
And No Crown Vic WTF!
At the time of game development, those are replaced by Dodge Chargers.

There's Koenigsegg One:1 available as both racer and cop. It's a free DLC.

They are not entirely useless, as they suit best on rapid response, speed camera, and speed zone. If you do want the best acceleration, pick patrol variant.

@@giahuynguyenkim6389 The Grand Tour is a racer event, and the only police vehicle available for racer faction is an enforcer variant. Still, if you somehow mod it for that to work, either would work:
• Patrol, if you rather survive by driving fast enough that they won't catch up.
• Enforcer, if you rather have better odds of survival, while not overwhelmed by speed.
