Met Phil when he was filming this telephone booth. He is such a pleasant man that knows the history of the west midlands. We both reflected on how sad it was to see the rubbish people had dropped I the phone box. He also gave me a souvenir. Thank you Phil. You gave our evening walk a deeper meaning.

Glad to know the telephone boxes are listed. Looked at them from the bus a couple of months ago thinking I wouldn't mind one of those before they go. Poor West Brom, what a state it's become ....
Amazing video! Just passed you on hill top a few minutes ago I was in the bus stop opposite hilltop highschool thought I'd search you up and see if it was you 😊
Lovely to see a red phone box, nice bit of British history. That's disgusting that these scutty people just chuck their rubbish on the floor inside of it.
The buildings next to Barclays Bank, number 317-319, used to be Sharpe & Millichips solicitors, Bert Millichip once West Bromwich Albion chairman was a practicing solicitor there. In the library upstairs is a large painting of Newton Road as it was many years ago. Incidentally running along the side of Carters Chemists (on the corner of car park by Farley Clock) are some old green railings bearing a steering wheel clasped by hands, i always wondered what their origin was or if connected to the Jensen premises.
I think it's crazy how they sometimes take a so called listed building that's fallen down over the years and only has one remaining wall and then spend 2 million pounds rebuilding the rest of the building. They will often knock a perfectly good usable building down to build a similar building in it's place. Two thousand cannabis plants growing in the courts, now that made me laugh. Great vid Phil.
Hi Phil I found the history of those listed buildings interesting and as you Say a link of paint and put back into use would help .The Farley clock on Carter's Green the building that was demolished at the back of the clock was that a church all the best Paul
hello Phill I got married at the town hall in 1991 because the register office in Bratt street had a bad fire our wedding photos were taken in the memorial gardens in front highfield house
Who is responsible for the phone boxes , what a shame there being left to rot , they need to be moved somewhere safe so future generations can look at what we used to have to use before mobile phones

That telephone box was there when I used to work in the high street in 1974, right next to the old post office. 👍

Highfields is a very popular place to get married in West Brom, even Bryan Robson the former WBA player was married there
Cannot believe the council locked those telephone boxes..people always complained about lack of conveniences
😃

I also would like to know who is responsible for their upkeep an interesting point that
