I grew up in West Brom and moved back here a few years ago. My mom told me about the murder when I was younger she said it was a big scandal as he was a married man, wasn’t the expensive White House part of a bigger house that stood behind it? Keep up the good work with your videos, love the history of the town.

I have often walked down Bratt Street and never knew of the murder of Dorothy but both your videos on the subject have been so informative and it's amazing to think that this happened the year before i was born. Love watching all your stuff, keep up the good work!

Hi Phil we watched this video 11pm last night, we had to watch the first one which we did at 9am this morning. Really interesting video, why are the papers locked for another 30 years? Has someone something to hide? But everyone is dead doesn’t make sense.

No sense at all SL, It's often sited that Jack Mason was in fact an actual Mason, which may have had something to do with him not being arrested.

"It's an unsolved murder, and 64 years on, it's still not solved" 😂

My uncle used to work in that factory in the corner as a welder but that's all I know, but do remember that the corner house opposite used to be a shop selling what most corner shops did back then essentials, and sweets 😋👍

HI phil did mr masons wife know about the affair because to hit somone 8 times with a hammer or such like on the back of the head sounds like anger to me ,great walk thanks.

It maybe that when Dorothy discovered she was pregnant she may have wanted Jack to leave his wife so he then may have committed the crime to ensure that the affair was never exposed. Jack Mason may have made it look like a robbery to cover his tracks. It still amazes me that he was not even arrested considering the amount of possible evidence that emerged from the enquirey

I wonder if the chairmans wife was ever considered a suspect, jealous wife reacting !!! not removing//disposing of body chairman would have known he'd be the obvious suspect but his wife was probably not strong enough to remove body and didn't have the means/transport either, having read about this i feel the chairmans wife is a strong suspect she certainly had a motive.

Great video bab!..I reckon he got her pregnant paid someone to bump her off or he did it & pulled a few strings because he knew people who would take a back hander to cover it up🤔 problem solved & scandal avoided, everyone's non the wiser & he can carry on with his life..
