The Black community is equally at fault for the ignorance. How many people have library cards, read/listen to anthing other than pop-lit or, infotainment/propanganda? How many parents stepped in to replace Drag Queen Reading Hour? In this age of electronic access via cellphone, poor literacy is almost inexcusable.

Uncle Luke and his followers need to go back and study American Government 101. I'm tired of these persons who are sandbagging listeners with bad information. If Luke really wanted change he'd encourage people to get involved in their towns/municipal governments and state legislature because that's where the government will affect them directly. Politics is local. You can't pile all this on a presidential election.

The problem is that it is not the POTUS that people should be focusing their attention at to get things like this done. People have to focus on the smaller governments: local, state and then work your way up to federal. Find the people who actually, get the real work done and make your cases to them to do those things.

A lot of us in America 🇺🇸 does not know anything about the government and constitution in this country. A lot of people think that the president can just do whatever he wants to fix things. Please listen to this show or go back read and learn about your government and their Power. Most of what the American people are enjoying today were laws passed by a democratic president or congress.Social security, Medicare, Medicaid, voting rights, federal air highway act, Obama Care, end of military draft and more! There is no perfect political party, but there is only one party who will try to help the least amongst us. Trump did not give you all a check, it was the democrats and Nancy Pelosi who approved it. I see all these black folks on online saying that Trump gives them money. It saddens me that some people are just ignorant and not interested in learning about the issues.

@@powderedtoastfacekillah734 The House of Representatives passed a bill to codify Roe, but when it was passed to the Senate, we did not have the votes to overcome the filibuster- takes 60 votes - and we had 2 democrats (Krysten Sinema & Joe Manchin) who voted with Republicans. The only way we can get real change - Codify Roe, Pass George Floyd Policing Act, John Lewis Voting Act, etc., is to flip the House Blue & expand the Democrat majority in the Senate. That takes voting. If you don’t vote, you don’t get what you want.

One way to explain qualified immunity; For everyone else in society, ignorance of the law is not an excuse for violating it. For police officers, ignorance of your rights *is* an excuse for violating your rights, as well as protection from accountability when they do
People seem to miss the nuance of the defund police movement, like the fact that Police have already been defunding taxpayers and communities for decades, with millions dollar lawsuits and settlements for misconduct, corruption, and incompetence, paid by taxpayers and not police, with personal liability insurance like doctors and lawyers

Rodney as as I can understand and appreciate your sentiments about electing people that understand the process that would run counter to a principle that this country was founded on. That is the idea that government should be representative of our citizenry. I don’t think our founding fathers intended to have full time professional politicians running this country.
I would like to see us improve education of our children. We need to teach history that is accurate, we need to teach children about civics and we certainly need to have some education that will develop cultural competency. Parents should be teaching their children about understanding other cultures and developing empathy for people that have been and are continuing to not be treated fairly based on their skin color or heritage. I was in college in the mid 70s the first time I heard about the backpack of white privilege that I had enjoyed during my formative years. It changed my thinking about race for the good and I used that knowledge to try to improve things for all.

Not only that, not just vote for president, vote for city and state representatives that have your best interests so they can get they foot in the door. It's not an overnight process. Everyone wants stuff RIGHT NOW, you you have to be smart and have long-term plans , like " those people over there" do. You best believe they have their 10,20,50 plans set in motion, they were set in motion when we got our civil freedoms, in their minds our freedoms were only temporary...and we got comfortable. Now look where we're at. Stay on our toes and keep it pushing.

But where is the plan to address these concerns? Where is Biden's Project 2025 policy proposals for working families? Where is the plan from the Democratic Senate and House? Where is the NAACP/Urban League/CORE/NAN? At the trough? The poorest people with the lowest share of wealth/resources are supposed to save U.S.A. from fascists? The concerns generate fear while the policies generate continued protection of the status quo with some scrapes thrown to the vulnerable.

To everyone saying we shouldn't clown Luke: Child, please. He put himself out there talking about a subject he obviously doesn't know anything about. He has followers who will go with what he said because he's a celebrity they know (which they shouldn't but low info people do). He's spreading faulty information. He has to do better because of the platform he has. I'm tired of these folks coming out here acting like they are being serious and asking the real "questions" when they don't know anything. Do what yal been doing all these years and sit on the sidelines and stay in your lane. You are not a political scientist....or even a civics teacher.🙄

The job of a politician is to POLITIC and GET IT DONE. Nobody needs a politician who's just gonna lay down because SCOTUS or other politicians get in their way!!!

Why is Luther Campbell speaking out now? After the primary and years after we should have ensured Stacy Abrams and Andrew Gillum were elected. To parody the Bette Midler song, I never did know he was a hero, he's nothing like anything we need...there's so much wind between his ears.🎶🎶

He’s a rapper, so of course he isn’t well informed. It’s an idealistic wish list, which is what all campaign promises are. The fact that yall are trashing him for saying it is sad. What should happen, if you are so much more intelligent and educated, is forge the path that gets Black people to these outcomes or…or…quit telling everyone to participate in a system where our “intelligent and educated” can’t detail solutions either.

What should we take a swing at first??? Basic Civics Education about how the System works, in under an hour!
Just as Americans know how football, basketball and other sports work, who the players are, and what the rules of the game are, the same can be done quickly with the game of politics.
A simple diagram showing government structure at all levels, the players & their roles, and the outcomes of the games they all play is a no-brainer.
Who owns the players, who is playing foul, cheating and lying, and who is getting results for their constituents, or not.
This can be done because folks have bits and pieces of information, if they're paying attention to the game.
Without this, Americans will remain ignorant at all levels of society and the oligarchs & their attorneys will continue to laugh all the way to the bank, with their banks!
Imagine what's possible if these celebrities with huge platforms took the time to understand the FACTS about how the system ACTUALLY works before running their mouths to mislead their audience?
Example: Most people have no clue that it's Senator Tim Scott who killed the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act with the backing of Mitch McConnell & Lindsay Graham. Folks just blame Biden, not understanding that he never had the democratic votes....thanks to Manchin & Sinema, and he needed to be sent a bill to sign.
Tap into people like Elie Mystal, Karen Hunter, Roland Martin and others who love to TEACH FACTS to understand the system we live in and how to leverage it for ourselves.

Clearly Karen Hunter only believe you are informed if you are ACTUALLY informed (you read, study and examine). Apparently, you feel triggered because you're either incapable or unwilling to do those things and rather not have to step up instead, you're pushing back. No problem. And you don't have to be motivated to do anything, obviously...but just know you are making a choice. And it's not about being high-brow and sophisticated, but it's interesting that you chose to categorize KNOWING SHIT with being high-brow and sophisticated. Just say you don't really care and move on.
