    I am about to buy a Massive Passive in like the next hours but I would like the new power supply included. I live in Europe. Is it available? The Manley Power is sooo good, the Elop+ just ROCKS! Best Opto ever.

      Yes! We have been shipping the new MANLEY POWER® version of the Massive Passive units worldwide since 12/2019!

      When you see the black knob rotary power switch, that's the linear supply version. When you see the red push button power switch int he top center of the Massive Passives, that's the MANLEY POWER® SMPS version of the Massivo.

      Sorry we are moving forward... since we no longer produce the linear PSU version there is no point to make a comparison video at this point. Everything about the SMPS MANLEY POWER® version is superior and we are all marching forward with that.

  • @reallyniceaudio

  • @ronaldhofman1726
    @ronaldhofman1726 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    i understand the choice for SMPP , but for the noise part , when u
    designing a amplifier , you know how much power it's had to deliver and how big the power supply capacitors need to be, to prevent noise (hum) , the only thing you can't control is the aging of the capacitors but if it are good ones they should last for years, the pro's of smpp is that they are light weight and can produce a lot of power and the noise that it induces is above the hearing spectrum so that's good, , it;s the logical way to go , bulky transformers are loaded with copperwire which is expensive and weighs a lot which makes shipping costly also.

    My experience with switching Power Supplies. Yes it is more efficient and the higher frequency you go the smaller size of the transformer. The negative is how hard the switching drivers have to work. The oscillator and driver circuitry has a tendency to stop working.

    I have a Manley Voxbox - Can it be retrofitted with this new power supply?

    • @manleylabs

      We have not yet gotten to engineering the VOXBOX to run from MANLEY POWER® yet, although it is next on the list, and no older units can be retrofitted or upgraded to the new system. Too much work and re-work to make it viable.

You just "feel" this or have an "opinion" that these expensive products are priced too high? Sorry but product pricing and business profitability is determined by math, experience, corporate goals, and market conditions, et al, and viewed through the lenses of standard accounting practices and are not subject to judgement from those who are not privy to the actual facts and numbers.
