Exactly! I noticed Boston dynamics wasn't in the video either. Their robots already have military and security applications. Add an Ai brain and some weapons and you have a formidable opponent. I'm sure as you said, it's already been done or already well advanced. Why send humans to war who can loose focus due to emotions and make mistakes. Why not build an Ai robotic army. Hopefully the Ai doesn't decide that we are the enemy like skynet in the terminator movie!
Robots can do the things that are difficult for people, make life easier, and not be influenced by hatred or given the power to hurt humans. people would form their own consciousness instead of submitting to the will of other people. they could enjoy nature, raise families, beautify the world with their artistic expression.
AI coupled with a dextrous agile body and able to communicate in all languages and with all of its own kind leaves me in a state of exhilaration and terror for the future.
I also foresaw the use of robotics through VR. Imagine having a trained technician or mechanic remotely working on something in/at your home?! Just hope you don't lose WiFi connection during the job 😬. Especially for the proposed use in medical surgeries.
I see the potential of using the larger dog like robots to charge the smaller ones like a real pup! Creepy, but got that impression from a scene about 7 minutes into the video.
Thank you for sharing the video. I just wanted to clarify that the startup company mentioned as 1X is actually, a Norwegian company established in 2014. (I think) . Their robots are pioneering and made in Norway. Have a great day!

I can't help feeling that when AGI gets to the point it needs to interact with the physical world, it will skip these kinds of designs and create nanobots that move together like a liquid (think T1000 without the nasty pointy bits (hopefully)) and can solidify instantly to create whatever is needed. The robots at this show are amazing, but can only perform a limited number of tasks and take time to build, making them a less efficient. I'm trying not to dwell on the possible negative implications of this.
I "good" version of T1000 would be WONDERFUL. The first Terminator movie was almost categorizable as a horror movie but his "successor" in the next movie was a hero. A "hero" version of T1000 would be a really great thing.
There would need the be an exponential leap in technology before that could occur, Planet Earth humanoids do not possess the intellect at this time. Just as Leanardo Devinci conceive of Flying machines centuries ago it took centuries for the first crude unstable machines to get off the ground.
What I want to see is the progress being made to land autonomous robotics on the moon or Mars. I mean, dancing robots are fine, but the AI and robotic development for off-world exploration seems to be decades away. I can see the dog style robots instrumental in exploring and mapping the lava tubes on the moon and Mars, but the robotics needed to clear and level those tube surfaces are not even close to being developed. Somehow, I do not see astronauts in space suits pushing shovels of regolith to clear the floor surfaces of lava tubes. Everyone is excited about off world exploration, but without the autonomous robotics and AI needed to prepare for human landings, it's pretty much an aspirational goal.
Until its the law that productivity gains created by robots are shared with EVERYONE, not just the corporations and 1% that own and control them, any average working person should not be excited about their development. Of the wealth created by productivity gains over the past 40 years, exactly 0% have been shared with workers.
No one has mentioned dog guarding robots. Maybe because of the legal implications. However if they just had monitoring and remote alarm software that would be great for patrolling.
Robots will be used against humanity. This is biblical. Watch "Boston dynamics - robot shooting)"....think about it why would we need a shooting robot❓⁉️
