Animusic is an American company specializing in the 3D visualization of MIDI-based music. Founded by Wayne Lytle, it is incorporated in New York, with offices in Texas and California. The initial name of the company was Visual Music, but changed to Animusic in 1995.
Lytle founded Animusic (originally under the name Visual Music) in 1995 with his associate David Crognale. Together, they released Animusic 1 originally in 2001 (and re-released in 2004, with 5.1 surround sound and extra content) and Animusic 2 in 2005. (and re-released in 2010, along with Pipe Dream from Animusic 1, in full HD)

I remember being amazed at just how _good_ Animusic looks on a standard-definition TV. Apparently the creators did some kind of special compositing on the DVDs to achieve this effect, and it's lost if it's played on a computer rather than being directly output to an SDTV from a DVD player. With how far upscaling technology has come, however, I expect it could probably be upscaled pretty well to HD if someone who really knows their stuff made an effort.

46:23 - Pictures At An Exhibition: Избушка на курьих ножках (Баба-Яга) / The Hut On Hen's Legs (Baba Yaga)

future retro: the first guy you name when listing out the boys
stick figures: carefree and lighthearted boy but with a tragic past
aqua harp: acts like they don't care but they secretly do
drum machine: cool but unheard of
    pipe dream: the popular kid
acoustic curves: old dog taught new tricks
harmonic voltage: the one guy who has a plan for everything and is always living in the future
starship groove: the boy you vibe with but is obsessed with space and NASA and the like
pogo sticks: if stick figures grew up
resonant chamber: the guy who doesn't look like he'd understand slang but does
cathedral pictures: the special ed kid you hang out with
    pipe dream 2: a follower
fiber bundles: the guy wrapped up in work but still found time to hang out
gyro drums: even cooler but even more unheard of
heavy light: the last guy you name when listing out the boys
