Even I stated that his maximum "stripped" weight should have 260 considering Ruiz is only 6'0"! His "stripped" weight was instead 280. AJ lost over ten pounds but he did it the right way. He lost it by doing more cardio and much less weightlifting over a long period of time. His loss of weight was predicated on his increased level of fitness. Ruiz actually lost weight and he was down to the low 250s. However, he was not in shape to handle the weight loss and therefore felt weakened. His team elected to have him regain the weight and when one does that after an unhealthy weight loss, it will only cause that athlete to gain much more than he/she had originally lost. This is why boxing is dying and MMA taking over.. no one likes seeing a man run around the ring for 12 rounds just using his reach advantage and call it “exquisite” shows how much of an actual fight that was.
AJ fans are so cold hearted over Ruiz's Loss against AJ. If AJ can bounce back so can Ruiz!!! Its 1-1 so defo a Trilogy fight is needed fair and square. look guys everyone makes mistakes in life no matter what the situation is we all been in through hard times and we can overcome it by doing the right act! its a life lesson to learn. First fight: AJ didn't follow the right game plan Ruiz knocked him out conscious 2nd fight: Ruiz was well overweight. Anthony joshua beautifully boxed Ruiz head off. So whys everyone celebrating he just beat an overweight Ruiz. Doesn't mean anything but his huge payday. 3rd fight: Ruiz well conditioned in terms of body mass vs AJ stronger game plan hopefully in 2020. They both can box, fight so its a 50/50 in a trilogy. So don't be so cold on Ruiz support the brother like you did for AJ.
AJ doesnt owe him anything. Ruiz wasnt a mandatory he was a voluntary defence. Ruiz made huge payday and became world champ. The contract said a rematch which made Ruiz even more money and he lost it. It should end there unless AJ wants it again which he wont for a while as he has to fight two mandatory fights against Pulev and Uysk. If Ruiz would have won saturday he could have made all the demands he wanted. I'm pretty sure he was promised the Wilder unification if he won.
If Ruiz is half fit, it goes back to being an 80/20 fight in Ruiz's favour as he has many things over Joshua. But Ruiz gave this fight to Joshua so is very foolish.
If you want an honest unbiased opinion in the boxing business there is no one better than Adam Smith. Really only one of very few worth listening to in my opinion.
well according to all the half-brains in the comments section if you are not on the Joshua hype, bandwagon and ignoring the fact Ruiz came in the ring as a hippo...and not declaring that Joshua gave a 'masterclass' to an immobile fighter who didn't have the energy or speed to throw anything this time...and if you are not declaring Joshua is favourite of every fight and best in the world, and if you don't regard Ruiz's destruction of Joshua as a lucky punch and fluke, then you must be a snake.
Why is it that Anthony Joshua straight away got mandetries as he gets his titles back. Why has not Beyonce wilder got the mandetrie call to fight Joshua. American boxing bored don't want all 5 belts in the UK. Beyonce wilder should be forced to fight Andrea Louise/Andy ruiz and then the trilogy should happen with andrea
I was amazed that aj could change from his robot style to this lighter more mobile one his footwork was the key willie pep would have loved this and so would ali
When God be for us, who can be against us? Anthony Joshua, AJ. God is on your side. I'm so tipped. First of all, you gave God the deserved honor. Ride on. Win them all. Show them where they belong AJ the heavyweight champion of the world
He mentioned the battle between Tyson Holyfield and Lennox but like many forget to point out there was two Mike Tysons. Even his opponents say Mike no1 would of probably beat them
Wilder should not be allowed to box with metal plates and pins in his famous right hand. He should be stripped of his belt and the metal in his hand and then be made to start again and see if his famous right hand can save him then.
Doesn't really matter if there's interest in a 3rd or not. 1:it's 1-1 there should be a 3rd to end the saga 2: Ruiz honored the contract and did the rematch, where he could have not honored it, payed X ammount and run away with the belts. Or he could have said "yeah don't worry we will do the rematch" and delay delay delay using mando's as the excuse. 3. it's another easy pay day for all sides, easy as pie promoting the trilogy fight. Whether you like it or not. No one can say this is over, it's 1-1.
@@thefinalwhistle1623 yes and like I said in my comment, he could have not honored the contract and only had to fork out a couple million for it. But he didnt.
The two biggest criticisms of AJ before this fight were that he had a limited gas tank and poor footwork relative to some other fighters, and to be fair that was accurate, but to have improved both those attributes as much as he has in such a short space of time is beyond impressive. Can't wait to see him clear up his mandatories. Usyk in particular will be intriguing.
It is easy to have stamina when you are under zero physical and mental pressure due to a static, slow fighter who comes in the ring well below normal fighting condition. Joshua beat a very poor Ruiz, not the normal Ruiz who would have probably sparked Joshua out again. A fit Ruiz can probably take Joshua out in one round, just like he almost took him out in 3 rounds last time, even after being floored and then bazooka'd by a big right hand.
@@ZaydDepaor I sort of half agree, half disagree with you there. On one hand, yes, Ruiz was overweight and heavier than in the first fight and could've thrown a few more shots if he was a bit fitter. But on the other hand, a fighter like Ruiz who tucks up and throws counter hooks over the top can only throw punches when his opponent is stationary in front of him. If his opponent moves around like Joshua was doing, then he can throw all he likes but they won't be landing. It wasn't AJ's movement around the ring that was troubling Ruiz, it was his Jab, footwork and feints. AJ was using his feet to get Ruiz to commit before moving slightly out of range so that he missed before then countering himself. If they rematched, AJ would just use the exact same tactics and there's very little that Ruiz could do. AJ lost the first fight because he made the mistake of staying within range and trading hooks, which you shouldn't do against a short, stocky hooker. He won the second fight because he learned from that and changed the game plan so that he didn't stand in the pocket and trade. The only times in the second fight where AJ looked troubled were when he momentarily forget the game plan and started to trade up with him. Once he started controlling the range again, Ruiz had nothing for him. A third fight would be pointless right now as it'd just go the same way.
@@setantii298 Joshua (even jabbing , feinting and moving) can't keep Ruiz off if he is fit, as he is 1) Fast on his feet (offensively and defensively, steps in and out very fast) 2) Moves in with a guard 3) Jabs to the body fast and hard 4) Moves in with combos 5) Parries shots as he moves in 6) slips shots as he moves in 7) can cut the ring down 8) throws feints as he moves in 9) can take shots as he moves in 10) unleashes combos while moving himself where Joshua can't even see the punches due to variety, angles and handspeed. When Ruiz is too overweight then he loses all those devastating abilities...It was like fighting a 60yr old Ruiz. Joshua can't even hold a fit Ruiz as Ruiz is agile and active in the clinch. Ruiz has too much for Joshua if half fit...but Joshua deserves victory as he took it seriously and trained hard and changed tactics, Ruiz just assumed because he destroyed him he can do it without much effort or preparation and that is very dumb.
I think people need to realize that no matter how tough a fighter is, he still will not be able to win all his fights by the knockout route. Not even Mike Tyson and George Foreman and fighters of that ilk have won all their fights by knockouts; some of their fights would have gone the distance.
With everything in mind, biggest draw in boxing, biggest revenue, the face of boxing, the expectations, the champion of so many belts, the criticism, on the back of a beating against a fighter who looks like a mess, and who AJ should have smashed on paper, WOW did AJ deliver in the rematch of which others thought he shouldn’t do, he showed an heart of a lion over the passed few months and sat night..... I look at AJ and he inspires! Brilliant win to change style so dramatically, something Fury said he couldn’t do, well AJ is now the champ again and the lion 🦁 marches on! Brilliant, I knew he was going to do it! Cmon AJ 🥊
At last a British pundit who has mentioned the fact that Ruiz handed him the fight by being overweight and undertrained...although of course his Sky job doesn't allow him to put it in those words.
Ruiz was uniquely a big let down in his seriousness, preparation and condition...so it kind of made all fight analysis and predictions a pointless exercise as you can't factor in a mindset of someone who has been boxing all their life, becomes champion, with such talent, skill and dangerous attributes and then decides to THROW AWAY DOZENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, RECORD, LEGACY, FANS, CREDIT, HISTORY.....because of food addiction and not being able to say no to friends and hangers on, and putting off training due to overconfidence etc...You would think determination would be a given... In a sense, Ruiz suffered for having such a devastating and dramatic victory over Joshua the first time, as he thought he could turn up with Taco Bell distribution centre in his stomach and still win. Ruiz let down a lot of people and I would think Sky and DAZN are pretty pee'd off with him as he didn't help either of their cause in trying to sell the sport to global markets and new subscribers, Rocky is disappointed too as he not only made a mockery of his documentary about Ruiz but he invited round Scarface to watch the fight. Ruiz needs to mature socially and professionally if he is to get to the place where his talent should put him. The world's natural No.1 prefers food n parties.
I’m not a fan of AJ, but I have to congratulate him on handling adversity, making the adjustments and executing a win. Let’s hope he can get the mandatories out of the way early and fight the winner of Wilder and Fury. We need a unified champion now.

Real world, perhaps but this is televisual show business. Needs addressing. SKY has become an old man’s sports brand. Image is king. He’s a great talent who’s just not maximising he’s potential. All positive things.
most fights can be won by stick and move and that's the only way AJ would've won, but AJ could've won if he covered up and let Andy throw his combo's then capitalise when Andy ran out of steam
A (half) fit Ruiz breaks Joshua's guard, closes distance, overwhelms him with combos and counter punching and slips, parries and outsteps (with speed) enough of Joshua's attacks to nullify him. Ruiz lost this fight outside the ring.
Ruiz would have again if half fit, but Ruiz by his foolishness has allowed all this bandwagon, over hyped delusional nonsense to be reignited again by the illiterate flag wavers and casuals.
I think Andy's weight is a big hindrance to him. Even in the first fight, commentators were saying that Andy should follow up his attacks more, and they felt he was being too cautious BUT maybe it wasn't anything to do with being cautious but more to do with Andy not being able to mount sustained attacks... because of his size. Again, there has NEVER been a great fat heavyweight champ ( maybe Fury comes closest, but has never been as fat as Andy)
Indeed his weight hinders him, the fat is not a cause of his dangerous attributes and skills, rather those attributes are so good that he is still effective despite the weight, but obviously there are limits to how big you can get before it badly hinders your skills and natural attributes. He is the potentially the best of all even when half fit, but he is very stupid with his neglect of training and diet...he could be wiping most top heavyweights out with ease.
When you weigh it all up AJ lost fair & sqaure 1 st time bt he went back to his amature day,s did the hard work in the gym stick & move hit & not get hit payed off bt made a boring fht who will he fight nxt unless its fury or wilder then what,s the point....losin intrest in the game fast

This is why boxing is dying and MMA taking over.. no one likes seeing a man run around the ring for 12 rounds just using his reach advantage and call it “exquisite” shows how much of an actual fight that was.
Can you fight? Mr nobody .
bye then
ah UFC like people running from Ngannou or the hugging and crotch sniffing
AJ fans are so cold hearted over Ruiz's Loss against AJ. If AJ can bounce back so can Ruiz!!! Its 1-1 so defo a Trilogy fight is needed fair and square. look guys everyone makes mistakes in life no matter what the situation is we all been in through hard times and we can overcome it by doing the right act! its a life lesson to learn.
First fight: AJ didn't follow the right game plan Ruiz knocked him out conscious
2nd fight: Ruiz was well overweight.
Dear Boxing Social. For Christmas can you put more adverts in your clips please ?
If Wilder and Fury have a trilogy they're both gay. Man up and stop running from AJ and Whyte - it's embarrassing now
When God be for us, who can be against us? Anthony Joshua, AJ. God is on your side. I'm so tipped. First of all, you gave God the deserved honor. Ride on. Win them all. Show them where they belong AJ the heavyweight champion of the world
Anthony Joshua is the best in the world hands down
He mentioned the battle between Tyson Holyfield and Lennox but like many forget to point out there was two Mike Tysons. Even his opponents say Mike no1 would of probably beat them
Floyd Patterson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Lennox Lewis...pretty good company...
***Correction, not Sugar Ray Leonard, FREAKIN' MUHAMMAD ALI!!! EVEN BETTER COMPANY!!
Smith had no faith in AJ. Didn’t think he could do it. Credit to AJ for proving many people wrong.
The team fare play were on it, executed the game very well
Your ads are ridiculous this isn’t television
Adam, ‘it puts the lotion in the bucket’ Smith 😂🤣
Gh05tfac3 think it was basket lol
Great comments Bro
Adam is mad into molly and hardcore house.
Wilder should not be allowed to box with metal plates and pins in his famous right hand. He should be stripped of his belt and the metal in his hand and then be made to start again and see if his famous right hand can save him then.
Doesn't really matter if there's interest in a 3rd or not.
1:it's 1-1 there should be a 3rd to end the saga
2: Ruiz honored the contract and did the rematch, where he could have not honored it, payed X ammount and run away with the belts. Or he could have said "yeah don't worry we will do the rematch" and delay delay delay using mando's as the excuse.
3. it's another easy pay day for all sides, easy as pie promoting the trilogy fight.
Whether you like it or not. No one can say this is over, it's 1-1.
he honoured the contract because its a contract enforcable in court.
@@thefinalwhistle1623 yes and like I said in my comment, he could have not honored the contract and only had to fork out a couple million for it. But he didnt.
AJ did good, but AJ v Wilder/Fury is still a 50/50 fight today.
How many adverts in a short video...?! 👎🏽
Cmon AJ 🥊
Flip flappers the lot of them 🐍 👀
At last a British pundit who has mentioned the fact that Ruiz handed him the fight by being overweight and undertrained...although of course his Sky job doesn't allow him to put it in those words.
I enjoy listening to Adam.
This guy has the best TV/Radio voice
He made ruiz look amatuer
Rather Ruiz's weight and sloppy attitude to training made Joshua look a good boxer.
@@ZaydDepaor no
Yes Johnny Nelson said 1000% Anthoney to win who remembers the interview were they was a big arguments
We need a unified champion now.
nigeace great comment!
Hmmmm not hearing him say he got that one wrong
Adam smith's gona miss saudi and their platter of children on tap
took me way to long to scroll down and find the first paedo comment
Adam smith the turn cost he was the first one to jump on Joshua's back when he lost
Imagine him fighting a tyson or holyfield, jesus it would be a massssssacre
Keeps saying will AJ get over what happened in the garden....... more to the point will he??.....come on Adam.... which slab they buried under.....??
"I am sure they partied into the night" yeah i bet there was loads of fruit juices and green teas consumed. the one thing u cannot do there is party
Let Deontay Wilder Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury be the United Kingdom Trilogy and make them global mean machines. Just saying .....
The PBC cult members convinced Ruiz AJ couldn't box, had no chin or stamina, had no heart and was an easy touch. So Andy ate his way to a conclusive loss. 😂🤦♂️
Big respect to Adam only one here talks sense
We knew AJ can hit and now we know that he can also box, but can Wilder box or Tyson Fury drops top heavyweights
Anyone can box someone who turns up as a hippo, worst condition Ruiz has ever been in and worst performance.
@Zayd Depaor , who’s fault is it, he had 6 months to get ready and he was ready, he said before the fight “ I had a great camp ma speed ma combinations been doing it since I was 6 man” areba viva mehico
@@hamdanfalcon His own fault as he admitted, but it was the reason he lost, his normal skills and attributes couldn't function with such excessive weight and lack of training.
good performance but this is what Fury does day in day out and is called boring, when AJ does it, it was a masterclass lol
Andy Ruiz didnt fight. He was losing and fought 11 &12 round like it was 1st 2nd round
He was really dismisive about AJ before the fight. Hows he changed!
AJ's legs......that's all ya need to know
I hope people stop calling Adam a Wrong un??? I wonder if he gets his suits from Saville Row???
Where are they buried Adam??
Adam looking really tired here after a busy night sniffing every seat in the stadium.
Lol
Humble pie for sake here . 🥧 🥧 this guy knows nothing about boxing , yet they made him a chairman of boxing.
The only way Ruiz will get that third fight is if he takes the Belfast from Wilder
Always amazed Adam never went for the hair transplant. Working in the media, he could legitimately submit the transplant as a business expense. Image is king on camera🤔
he has a full head of hair though
Real world, perhaps but this is televisual show business. Needs addressing. SKY has become an old man’s sports brand. Image is king. He’s a great talent who’s just not maximising he’s potential. All positive things.
@@StellaForteStellaForte he is hardly on camera , do your research
Adam “I thought his legs were phenomenal” Smith. Alright son calm down. It’s the morning after the night before but it’s not kiss and tell.
Adam aint ride or die AJ, but he dont need to be....
If your wondering what adam is looking at, there nappy changing rooms were over there
This guy NEVER believed in AJ now look public apology is needed
most fights can be won by stick and move and that's the only way AJ would've won, but AJ could've won if he covered up and let Andy throw his combo's then capitalise when Andy ran out of steam
A (half) fit Ruiz breaks Joshua's guard, closes distance, overwhelms him with combos and counter punching and slips, parries and outsteps (with speed) enough of Joshua's attacks to nullify him. Ruiz lost this fight outside the ring.
Sky pushing the narrative of the cash cow. It was boring and he aint that good. TF and DW take him to pieces.
Ruiz would have again if half fit, but Ruiz by his foolishness has allowed all this bandwagon, over hyped delusional nonsense to be reignited again by the illiterate flag wavers and casuals.
If beating Ruiz on score cards makes you #1, then Parker is #1 as well. Let's be serious.
Parker arguably lost that night.. Home town decision
This was 11-2 decisive win
Not that im saying AJ #1..
I think AJ beats fury, fury beats wilder and wilder beats AJ.
Where is Maddie Adam!?
Stop saying first Mexican heavyweight he's American/Mexican
Did he remember what he told us yesterday....
Now he just eat his words......
Whole bloody fight was a snooze fest. AJ did more running than Mo Farrah.
Ruiz's fault though as he knew he would do that but decided to turn up like a hippo.
How do they respect AJ for running away from a 20st guy who knocked him out. They only care about the $$$$$$$$$. Guarantee AJ won't fight any top 4 fighters in 2020.
I know Whyte had little time to prepare but Joshua would have destroyed him based on that performance.
and Whyte him based on MGM. what a pointless comment.
Yeh that’s all well and good Adam but what’ve you done with Madeleine?!
Keep quiet 🤫 Adam
Lets get it right, masterclass, schooled is way overboard. AJ used his attributes to out point Ruiz on cards, nothing more and nothing less. I hope these vultures around AJ dont build him up to King AJ and he has another big fall during his next loss. Ruiz isnt a known k.o artist
Adam ' call me daddy ' smith
Adam "the casual" Smith
God he can talk!
