Really wish I hadn’t watched this video! I was on the fence, initially, about buying this modular; and now that I’ve watched this video, I might have to buy two! This moc is absolutely beautiful! I love the idea of adding a second shop, as well as the pool/pagoda area. I might have to get two and slightly copy your idea!

Ich kann mich da noch nicht ganz festlegen. Wahrscheinlich ist es auch für mich das Beste, mindestens ist es aber in den Top drei.

I'm not a huge fan of the original building, but you did a really good job with this MOD👍
Being not tall enough is one of my issues with the original modular, but you've solved that instantly and your additions with the jewelry store and the pool in the backyard look amazing!

Freut mich, dass dir die Änderungen gefallen. Das Original hat mir eigentlich auch schon recht gut gefallen. Ist auf jeden Fall her eines der Besten der Reihe, wie ich finde. Also holst du es dir erstmal nicht für deine Stadt?
@@Bricksonville Platz hätte ich zwar, aber ich erzähl dir gerne weshalb es in meiner Stadt wohl keinen bekommt, aber erstmal was positives.
Ich finde es vom design und von den Farben (fantastisch dass die Designer es immer noch schaffen bei den Farben abwechslungsreich zu sein) sehr gelungen und auch, dass das Gebäude so gewinkelt ist, sieht von den meisten Seiten gut aus, Innengestaltung hab ich auch überhaupt nichts gegen, ABER was es so einzigartig macht und alleine gut aussehen lässt, macht es für mich gleichzeitig so schwierig es passend in eine Häuserreihe zu integrieren. Die Originalhöhe stört mich mittlerweile nicht mehr so, aber das Gebäude ist einfach kein volles Eckgebäude mehr und nutzt den vorhandenen Platz nicht komplett aus, dadurch dass dort die kleine boutique ist.
Ich hätte das Gebäude wunderbar gefunden, wenn es von der Fläche her wie das Cafe Corner, große Kaufhaus oder Kino gebaut wäre, sieht dann zwar nicht mehr so spektakulär aus ohne die Anwinklung, aber würde mir genügen.
Um die Erbsenzählerei zur Vollendung zu bringen kommt da noch der 6 statt 8 Noppen breite Gehweg hinzu😂, was aber zugegebenermaßen noch leichter zu beheben ist.
Jetzt bin ich aber auch fertig mit meiner Kritik, also kurzum, wenn es in meiner Stadt mal ein Eckhotel gibt, dann eins das auch ein “volles“ Echkgebäude ist.

Ja, ist schon ganz schön teuer das Set, vorallem, da dieses Jahr die Preise auch noch erhöht wurden.... Daher ist es vielleicht nicht die schlechteste Idee auf Rabatte zu warten

Amazing job!!!! I was also thinking it needed the middle floor to be doubled and I searched for modifications and found your creation. What you did with the second shop and the pool is fantastic. Wow!!!

It really needs that extra floor! Damn it… you’ve sold me on getting it. I was chatting to mike yesterday and said that was one of the changes I’d absolutely make to the set. Looks fantastic, especially with the lights!
It's the problem most of the modulars have... They look much better with an additional floor. It would look great in your city! Btw... isn't it time for a new city update of yours? 😉

We did a similar thing to the Lefthand building on Assembly Square, it finishes the set off.

Genius at work !! 😍 Looks absolutely gorgeous 😍 The extra level pushes it to the right proportions and gives it that old french kinda slim look. Since I feel like a broken record when commenting on the lights in Bricksonville 😂 - let me stress how much we appreciate the effort you´ve put in this video - that speedbuild with the smooooth closing container lid, doors and clipped elements is just superb 👌👌

Zu deiner Frage - wir haben bislang "nur" acht Modulars gebaut...haben da also keinen Sammler-Anspruch und schauen was uns gefällt und was das Budget zulässt. Es ist uns aber echt wichtig zu schauen wie sich unsere relevanten MOCs in der Modular-Reihe einfügen! Cheers 😀

"Nur" 8... das ist ja fast nichts 😉 Aber bei der Qualität eurer MOCs kann man auf die Serie oder zumindest einzelne Häuser auch gut verzichten :)

Very nice! The extra level is great but I think the extra half baseplate and custom build puts it over the top! It makes it easier to see the exterior details on the “pool side” of the building

It looks Fantastic. I was also thinking of adding an extra store and extra level. Bit you did much more then that. And I like it very much. I already made little extra's to the build (only on detail level) But this video inspires for much more

Sehr cooler Mod zu einem sonst schon sehr gelungen Set. Die Originalpalme gefällt mir auch überhaupt nicht. Hat eher was von einem Besen 🧹. Da sieht deine schon viel besser aus! Der zusätzliche macht absolut Sinn und auch der Pool find ich sehr passend! 👍🏻

Nice, I would have put the dark leave on the palm tree below the brighter ones. New leaves are generally brighter than old one irl. 👍

Nice job but I'm not crazy about the light color. I would prefer a warmer color instead of the harsh bright white color with some of the lights.
Thanks for your comment. Yeah, maybe you're right... But in my city there are a lot of warm lights already. So it's also nice to get a different effect with these lights.
The original set as Lego sells it comes with the problem that there are 4 keys behind the desk, but only 3 rooms. Now you added 2 more rooms, so suddenly, there is a key missing :D (also, still no bathrooms for most of the rooms :D)
In addition, I would have prefered the pool to be accessible from the hotel itself, and not only the terrace.
But nevertheless, this is such a huge improvement! The expension of the terrace makes the plant fit in much better, the pool is nice and the usage of the second tower as a pagoda very creative. Great mod!

Indeed, my first idea was to create an access to the pool through the wall where the plants are now. But this would have messed up the stability of the stairs on the inside... So I accepted the fact that the only access is from the terrace and I liked the plants on the wall very much. ;-)

Love this build! I'm wondering how many extra pieces you had leftover from the second set? The only other thing this needs is an elevator for the luggage carts - maybe that could fit in on the other side somehow?

Good question... with a second set you get a lot of leftovers.. But you could also build something cool out of them :) Bricks and pieces isn't such a cheap way as well... One could give it a try, though ;-)

Im thinking of expanding the art gallery with a 16x32 and add a back alley access. It does look impressive with 1 additional floor in the hotell tho. Tempted to buy the parts to make it myself.

Great built! Looks awesome and such a massive upgrade to the original! Is it enought to buy two sets to build this? Or would i also need a lot of extra pieces in addition to buying two complete sets?

Wirklich ein gelungener Mod, bei den Modulars ist es ja oft so das ein Extrastockwerk immer fehlt. Auch hier macht es das Hotel direkt imposanter. Hast du das Innenleben auch kopiert in dem Stockwerk oder ist da ein anderes Layout? Auch die Erweiterung von der Terrasse ist richtig gut gelungen, ich hätte überlegt sie noch über den Bürgersteig zu verbreitern. Auch der Hinterhof gefällt, hast du denn schon einen Platz in der Stadt dafür?

Die Terrasse über den Bürgersteig zu verbreitern, wäre auch ein gute Option gewesen. Muss eh noch überlegen, was da nun am besten neben stehen kann. Platz wäre genug vorhanden, habe ja noch ne komplett freie Fläche :)

It's unfortunate the way a lighting kit displaces the bricks and makes the buildings lose their clean edges and lines. Don't think I'll ever do it to my modulars
