There are no star tenors today,a handful of good ones but we will never hear del monaco or his likes again, i have his cds in trovotore turandot chenier forza cav/pag norma fancuilla de west otello and giaconda samsom and a few others and he is superb in them all, especially in ernani under mitropoulous were he really cuts loose.what an exciting tenor,id kill to have seen him live alas i was only 15 when he passed away,so ill keep playing his cds and annoy my neighbours ha ha
