Another great video 😀 I love your drawings. They add an extra level of uniqueness to your commentary 😁 (A compilation book of your drawings would be most excellent 😄) I'd absolutely love to share a house with a Ghost. Could learn so much from its stories. Therefore no discount is needed 😀
I knew you were going to say Midsommar! One I still get chills from is 28 Days Later. That walk through deserted London…chilling! Thanks for another great video 😊
You're right about Hereditary and Midsommar, very unsettling horror movies, right up there with the spookiest. I would also say It Follows, The Witch: A New England Folktale, Blair Witch (still works!), The Babadook, Ghost Stories (movie/play), The Orphanage and REC. Also most of the TV series of Haunting of Hill House was p darn creepy
I’ll have to watch this a second time as my mum talked all the way through it having grown up around there. Even though she was 15 at the time she hadn’t heard about the poltergeist. If you do get a chance to visit Chiswick again then go into the magnificent Fullers Brewery who do, or at least did an excellent tour. Very enjoyable. Thanks!
Discount for ghosts in houses would depend on the quality of the ghost, I would say a vague smell of bacon should attract no discount, whilst a full blown apparition carrying its own head and walking through walls should attract a discount of 50%. A house where a murder took place should be free to who ever wants it or demolished if no one does, whilst a house that is a ghost itself ( back to Knighton Gorges again) should be free to whoever can catch it !
These are excellent ghost policies. However I think a permanent smell of bacon does deserve a discount. No-one wants a smell of bacon at night, and there's nothing more disappointing than smelling bacon in the morning, expecting a bacon sandwich in the kitchen, only to find out it was a ghost.
I watched midsummer a couple of weeks ago and it did stay with me for a while. Worst bit being when the old man didn’t die after jumping off the cliff so they bashed his bonce in with a mallet. I watched it on a Sunday and was having my roast chicken dinner. It’s a good film but that bit……….yikes! 😲

Hi Marek, I agree with you on American Werewolf, it’s scary and also very funny and of course, Riks in it, but the scariest thing I ever saw was THREADS, awful special effects but when it was aired it was very real. Great walk BTW…

The last horror movie I saw was 'Hot Fuzz' with torsos being impaled everywhere!😃 Sometimes i feel like I'm in a horror movie when cycling the dark spooky lanes late evening with bats flapping around & divebombing me! Stay cool, stay safe & take care! 🌞

50% off for bad ghosts and 25% off for good ghosts. Being a middle aged dad, I don't find horror films scary anymore. I do remember when I was about 12 years old, my friend's older brother let us watch Demons 2 and it scared the complete poop out of me. Then once the film was over I had to walk about a mile home in the dark to get my dinner. I couldn't sleep properly for about 2 weeks. I agree with you about Midsommar, that was quite harrowing.

And I'm not sure if this is good or bad news, but I had no reason to fear! Scariest films: The Blob (1958!), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (part 1!), and Transformers (2!) But the latter was just because it was so frighteningly bad. A person should not receive a discount to purchase a haunted house. They should be paid (handsomely!) to live in one. 'kin hell!
Well would you Adam and Steve it, from out of nowhere, the coolest dude on TH-cam has taken the time to film, edit and upload another quality video! Doing the Lord's work, Marek!
The Thing, Jaws, Alien: three absolutely perfect and scary films. Also the finale of Nic Roeg's classic Don't Look Now will haunt anyone for the rest of their life. Fun fact; Don't Look Now was written by romantic novelist Daphne du Maurier. And she wrote Hitchcock's The Birds.
I agree with all of those. They are all in my top ten films of all time. Weirdly I am reading Daphne du Maurier's 'The Scapegoat' at the moment. It is really stress inducing.
For me the scariest movie is 'Day of the Triffids', not so much for the triffids themselves but for the scene with the plane and everyone onboard including the pilots are all blind, and there is hope of them making a safe landing...for me that is truly terrifying.
The movie that scared me the most was The Stangers. I guess because it actually seems like it could happen and it preyed upon a big fear of mine of like not noticing someone in my house. And then of course the whole murdering my husband in front of me thing too. That was a very distressing scene
I have not seen 'The Strangers', but it sounds pretty traumatic from your description, a bit like 'Funny Games' which I have also avoided due to everyone saying it is traumatising.

Absolutely with you on The Omen for a scarey film. I'd also add The Whicker Man, not only for the creepy pagan stuff, but it's simply cruel to tempt a man with a naked Britt Eckland only to burn him alive an hour later.
Not a scary movie but I remember as a kid watching Animal Quackers, the blue lion dude scared the shit out of me, and as for the monkey on the drums.......... I'm having cold sweats now just thinking about it. With regards to discounts for houses absolutely, but to make it less spooky convert all the rooms into living rooms as ghosts don't need them.
Ari Aster definitely knows how to make an upsetting film! I found It Follows quite scary as well. The films that upset me most tend to be ones with human monsters like Eden Lake and Funny Games. Goodnight Mommy and Apostle also very worth a watch (from behind a cushion!) I saw The Omen II when I was too young really and the ice skating bit gave me nightmares! I think haunted houses should be free to anyone who wants to be custodian. 100% discount to anyone who ain’t afraid of no ghost!
The ice skating bit is one of the most gruesome deaths I agree. I have heard from several people that Funny Games is really harrowing, and their description has put me off watching it.
@@cdwc I sort of wish I hadn’t watched it tbh! I much prefer a werewolf or a nice cosy ghost story. Although Haunting of Hill House was properly terrifying.

Great vid that ticks all the boxes: Walking, Dubious Ghosts, Historic Architecture, Green Spaces, Metric of humans present, Underlying sense of ennui, Professional quality graphic art. A triumph of YouTubature. I'm off to Scotland later in the year and you've inspired me to do a few ghost walks while there. I feel like such a dick saying so and please don't see it as a criticism of your vid, but I'm quite interested in history, how women have been portrayed and how that filters down to today's attitudes etc., and although it may be ill-received I would be disappointed in myself if having enjoyed your videos and commented on far less important themes (what to name a bird, which snake is the one that will kill you, etc.) not to share my views on this. As a technical woman I would like to point out that Barbara Villiers is now best know as being a mistress of Charles II and has become something of a caricature, but given her circumstances did remarkably well; she was born into a lower level noble family and her father was killed in the civil war when she was 3. She was then used as a tool for family advancement and as her family had sided with the exiled king Charles II she was pushed into his orbit and encouraged to become his mistress, and subsequently a lady-in-waiting to the queen which only came once she had borne him a child. Her agency in life was entirely dependent on the king and she managed to retain his favour well past the point at which historically kings discarded mistresses, and obtained positions of power for her children and for herself. She also had a noted influence on the king and decisions that impacted the populace. She lived to 68 and during her life there were accounts of her kindness and charity, as well as those more associated with her reviled position as an unwanted influencer of the monarch and the hatred she received as such, mostly from powerful men of the time who were angry at what they saw as her negative influence on the king. To bring things back to a happy place, I agree that kid was a liar and his parents et al incredulous tits.
Hi Steph. I agree I should have researched more about Barbara Villiers, rather than just follow the book and describing her as a lady known solely for her beauty and suggesting she was worthless without that. I apologise. She sounds sounds like she had a fascinating life. Meanwhile David the little boy was definitely an arsehole.
@@cdwc No apology needed, it was an excellent vid as per. I'm aware there's no way you could go into detailed history of everything you reference and that you're not setting yourself up as a historian (although if you can find a way of crowbar-ing yourself into Horrible Histories you'd be an excellent addition). I'd had a bad day which is usually the only time I'm critical of others as I tend to be relatively personable. If your'e ever walking in the South West I'll make you a sausage-heavy packed lunch to say sorry.
You don't have anything to apologise for, you are right. I am trying to cut back on the sausages but will definitely have at least one sausage sandwich. Stay cool.

When I was tiny I was terrified of The Stuff, so much so that I wouldn’t eat yoghurt for a decade.
I liked the sketch you made with the blood of your enemies. 😏
I had never heard of that film. Just watched a trailer. It looks amazing.
Marek, that was an excellent way to spend 9.30 mins. But I have discovered in this video that you might be a witch. You can swim/float, enjoy super scary films and you have a witches nose. Witch witch witch!
I knew I'd end up being burnt at the stake. Thank you for the sponsorship.
@@cdwc my pleasure. You are amazing. And everyone knows if you pay a witch a few coin they don’t curse your crops. And I have a lovely lime tree that’s fruiting well this year.
The first part of the original IT scared me when I was a kid.
Is the bacon smell due to a piggy ghost?
Yes I agree it was very scary. The new IT was not a patch on it.
now there's one thing in the WHOLE WIDE world I sure would like to see - that's when that little love of mine dips a donut in my tea heehee
Quite right.
Enjoyed that Marek 👌 its a good job I survived the snake test or I could have been a ghost 👻 now atb daz
Most people watching this channel are ghosts. Hope you've got some good walks planned.
@@cdwc yea starting the Anglesey Coast Path tomorrow 😁
Excellent. Hope you have good weather, and you bring your windometer.
@@cdwc will do 👍

427 for the win
Hauntings - 50%, Murder - 40% The Devils (1971)
At least £50k or 20% - whichever is more numerous.
You didnt say "don't shoot plasterers" though.
Very good point.
Stay cool.
You should try the walk out at night lol
I imagine the smell of bacon at night would be unbearable.
@@cdwc 🥓👻🚶♂️🤣🤣
A vegetarian nightmare🤣
I would pay extra for a ghost house.
A haunted house or a whole house that was a ghost?
Sorry no discounts for ghosts.
This is incorrect.
@@cdwc You are 😉
I think you should have to pay extra to live in a haunted house - think of the TH-cam clickbait potential!
Why the hell does everyone want to live in a haunted house!?!
