What a delight John Hartford was! Don’t know how we missed this show, but we saw him in Kingsport a few years earlier, along with The Dillards. He is sorely missed!
Lovely, thanks! I got to meet John a half dozen years before this show, in hartford, connecticut, in Bushnell Park down the hill from the state capitol, and at the foot of the big new golden glass (defense industry) and
old stone-faced (insurance company) skyscrapers where, of course, he sang about people going to work in tall buildings. what a marvelous human being. We talked about dancing in sneakers and what grade of plywood to put your contact microphone on. 🎉
He was a rare gem of a person.
This brings back great memories. Only saw him live once but wore out a bunch of his records when I was younger.
I was there! Awesome! Thanks for posting.
Do you happen to recall the name of the venue?
Gee Tom. The photo that accompanies this audio says where it was recorded. Produced by myself and Jim Boswell from a CPB grant.@@tomproctor.archive
