a tech that i use a fair bit is the orbit skate. all you need is a fireteam who's sick of your shit and then heavy attack someone in their menu into a wall. if you get the timing right you'll be launched all the way back to orbit.
I tried skating with Phoenix dive before and after the update and I was kinda hoping it would start working on solar 3.0 for some reason. Was a tiny bit disappointed. Wish it was like shatterdive.
I wouldn't. Icarus Dash seems to disable wallsplatting for the brief time it's up so you wouldn't need to worry about walls, and the quickfall capabilities of phoenix dive aren't all that useful since it's tied to a cooldown.
On Warlock, you can also blink after the eager edge swing in the air and your blink will send you horizontally allowing you to cover quite a bit of distance. Works really well with Astrocyte Verse. I tend to use this when running the first encounter in Vow. Also there's suppression skating on Bubble titan but I've only seen it done once and it's even more insane than a regular bubble skate
@@lilydusk5042 okay, I figured it had to do something with canceling the actual animation by interrupting it with the grenade throw animation. Can you still even start the super animation being suppressed? Do you have to throw it, Eager, Bubble, and as you start to do the animation, be suppressed?
I just got the other half with an enhanced eager edge perk and I lost sleep last night, because of how much fun I’ve been having reaching around corners to far-away guardians lol
You can combine shatter-skating with double-swing. Shatter-skate -> light attack before eager edge goes away to change directions -> swap weapons to keep momentum. You'll have two jumps left, and you can place basic sword swipes between each of those jumps to get a bit more distance or sometimes to buy time for another eager edge. Comes in handy going around corners.
For hunter skating on controller change your shatterdive (long press B) to single press B in your button mapping. Place your thumb between A and B so your thumb partly covers both buttons. Swap to your sword and your eager edge perk will proc. Look out for it saying "Eager Edge" 1 or 2 inches above your super bar. So swap to sword > wait for perk to proc/appear > press A+B+ pull your right trigger in. You need to pull the trigger in VERY quickly and ensure you are activating the 3 buttons/trigger within the eager edge proc window.
I do this on Xbox the way I learned was heavy attack and as I’m pulling the thrived just slide my thumb over a and b in like a flicking motion litterally works every time
@@zohzow it literally doesn't. Sliding over A and then B means there is a slight fraction of a second between them. For hunter press at same time, for warlock slide
One tip that helped me well skate was when someone pointed out the visible timing. You’ll see your character swing the blade in an animation, once the sword is at your body is when you should jump and super at the same time.
This video is way better explained than others I've seen. When I've given it a go myself, i didnt even know to proc eager edge first I cant do any of this movement stuff but plan to start with the basics. I saw a video that claimed that having enhanced eager edge increases the timing window from 1 second to 1.5 seconds. If true, every little helps...
Trying to learn how to well skate on controller is interesting to say the least, but this definitely helped figure out the timing. Now, to spend a few hours practicing until it's consistent.

I find that these techs (the titan one especially) are a lot easier to pull off at lower frame rates. Probably because the more frames there are the less time you have to input on one specific frame. like having a 1/60 chance instead of a 1/120 chance. Probably not correct but that's my hypothesis
I wouldn't be surprised if you're right. A lot of movement tech is linked to FPS. For example, since my system can only run the game at 60 fps, stuff like the warlock stair skate just doesn't work fore me, at least not very consistently. If you want to do it properly, you need at least 100 fps I believe. In contrast, I can do stuff like a well/shatter skate just fine, maybe even better than some of my friend who have higher fps systems.
While bubble skating the timing is not that important, the most important is the distance to the edge of the platform you're skating from, and that's one of the reasons why no one uses it: you waste your super + you have to measure the distance with a ruler for it to work, while shatter/well skating just requires any uneven surface and you can do it endless amount of times in a row.
You don't need a ledge at all, you'll just slow down and probably die from a 10cm step on the floor but since you do none of the actions in the air you don't need a ledge. Another reason I don't like it is that you can't jump until the end of the animation for bubble so until then it's just going downwards.
Titan Stasis climbing/flying is both the most powerful flight tools in the game, while also being the most difficult. You should take a look at it and how it is used to escape maps and have serious flying fun

skate off sparrow. id say its more difficult then bubble skate. you can do a bubble skate as long as you know the timing and positioning, but to skate off sparrow you have to do timing and mid air adjustments of your sparrow to be able to stand on it, and you have to skate immediately since you can only stand on it for maybe 1 second max but more like half a second. it also allows you to go from a skate into another skate which i would say is the hardest movement tech.
I'm a bit late, but the lower your framerate, the easier bubble skating is (or any supers that can; Golden Gun, Arcstaff, Hammer, etc). At 30fps, the timing is almost identical to wellskate/shatterskate. Also, it only works if the combo is done while on the ground, if you go off a ledge you'll kill your momentum
With the new dlc you can strand skate and I’m pretty sure it’s the same inputs as shatter skating, but instead of being on a ledge you have to be on stairs or a slope I would say the optimal slope is about 100-125 degrees parallel to the ground btw this is on thread runner and I would say the input that works best for me heavy swing jump dive
I use the jump button and super button(s) at the same time immediately after the heavy attack, and it works. So don’t think you just have to do heavy, then jump, then super.

@@MayFleet it’s probly cuz it sounds really confusing when you try to tell people how to do it but once you do it once or twice it’s litterally like muscle memory the only thing I mess up on is forgetting to swipe or shatterdive sometimes to cancel my momentum and I’ll end up splat against a wall 🤣 still fun though
Yea that's what I ended up doing. I was hitting the skate successfully maybe 75% of the time, but that 25% really just kills off your flow. Setup a macro and now it hits every single time. So much fun.
Hunters can also skate with the healing dodge on solar, not sure whats its called but they do a front flip. Also its possible to skate with no sword ammo it looks kinda cool.
Where is the Triple Eager Edge Skate? That’s literally just: 1st Eager Swing without shatterdive/well 2nd Eager Edge swing with shatter/well against a wall and bounce off 3rd Eager Edge swing another shatter/well skate if you get bounced in a position to able to do another shatter/well skate from the 2nd shatter/well skate I would say, that’s harder than bubble skating. The timing is soooo tight and you also need a specific spot where it will work Edit: You could also say something about heat rise well skate and Icarus dash to get a lot of height. As example used in GoS and VotD Skips to be very fast

You can change the hunters shatterdive from “long press” to just “press”. Just gotta go to “controls” and change it to custom to bring up the menu. I’m not sure how to make it easier for warlocks and Titans on console though
@@mushroomsurprise2522 my super button is on dpad and jump on left bumper. its similar to hunter skate but instad of jump and press b at the same time its jump and press dpad at the same time. you just have to practice the timing. hunter its all jump+dive+heavy at the same time but warlock its heavy first wait half a second then jump+dpad. its do able on default but had to use one whole hand on bumpers and a button and other hand for heavy.

I’m not sure if it’s a known tech at all but I found that if you heavy attack at a slanted wall just at the right distance away it sends you in the air (sometimes to the skybox). If you wanna know more just comment I guess lol

I’m pretty sure the gunslinger can use their one new dodge to do a flip like freaking Jedi and Sith when they do a force jump, it’s aesthetic as fuck tbh I love it
I still use space for jump and bound 4 to air thing (icarus/shatterdive/etc), so I can 3->right click->space->4. For warlock this may be a bit extra personal preference but I have super bound to shift+F (to avoid fatfingering), so to well skate i just hold down shift while hitting 3>rmb>space>F

aw man titans are so slow!!! i literally picked and mained titan because they were the fastest class in D1 but now it's seems they can't even go half as fast as either of the other 2 classes. bummer

I can’t seem to get the well skate I keep just laying down a well and not being able to press jump at all Edit did it once on accident gonna keep practicing thx for the video Edit 2: so I’ve gotten the well skate down I’m just having trouble getting upward momentum to just keeps sending me down. In my experience, ive had more consistency with higher fps. However shatterdive skating is forgiving enough and it doesn't matter, well-skating is pushing it a little, and bubble is oughe (not fun).
For bubble on 30 fps I had to delay activating super slightly for the most consistent results, pressing at the same time or too early would just result in a wasted super. On higher fps (~120+) I had to input almost immediately, the problem now was being too late and I would get that weird mini slide with the bubble that he was talking about. Possible on controller is just sucks with default controls :( I hope this helps someone
If it's possible I haven't managed or seen it. My initial thought while testing was that it may be impossible due to Shadowdive eating your melee energy but that might not be the case.

The best way to do this on console is to play Claw , use your Pointer finger and thumb to press Triangle and X at the same time , and immediately Swing then Swap , practice the the Triangle and X at the same time and it’ll get easy asf 😂💯 bro this shot is so funnyyy, and the WELL SENDS ME ACROSS THE MAPP
No matter how many times I’ve tried I can’t get shatterskate or we’ll skate to work. It won’t proc my jump after I swing /: itll do the super just fine, but never does the jump even though I immediately press

Is there an update to where Titans can no longer skate? i've tried so many times following your instructions but i cannot get it to work.

Yeah I use dive to end skate well skate is annoyingly hard but burst glide makes it happen more times then not

Realistically this has no benefit use and you should practice on your normal frame cap

For those on console, I switched my super to up on the d pad and it makes it so much easier to well skate. Having back buttons helps too.

For Hunter Skating u can also set up a macro fairly easy just by searching on yt and then tweaking it a bit for preference and accuracy.

I haven't seen it mentioned here but this also works with Worldline's special attack, though it doesn't seem to be nearly as fast.

I’ve seen people use a sparrow to get another skate in midair, which is sick but minimally useful (only really good for prophecy).

set it to something else, really not a good bind for that. only thing you should use scroll wheel for is for your 2nd jump bind
this + well skating makes the pain of loosing the OG sword skates go away

I’ve witnessed people make it across kings fall parkour in one well skate, but I can’t even make it half way. Any tips on what I’m doing wrong?

aw man titans are so slow!!! i literally picked and mained titan because they were the fastest class in D1 but now it's seems they can't even go half as fast as either of the other 2 classes. bummer

@@guineapig9171fouth horseman is exotic and deep stone is a slug. for pellet. auto loading vorpal dead weight from gambit has the highest dps of all legendary shotguns.

When shatterskating, how do you get your dive back so quickly? When I do it it like goes on a cool down and I can’t stop my momentum
It should cancel it out so you can use it again immediately
I can’t seem to get the well skate I keep just laying down a well and not being able to press jump at all

Any idea if FPS numbers affect the ease of combos? (Bubble in particular)
In my experience, ive had more consistency with higher fps. However shatterdive skating is forgiving enough and it doesn't matter, well-skating is pushing it a little, and bubble is oughe (not fun).
Yeah fps does actually effect shatter/well skating. It probably won’t make a difference for 99% of players though.
@@irelanddddd yeah, i have noticed a distinct timing though. With low fps it's a button mash, as you go higher it's more particular.
For bubble on 30 fps I had to delay activating super slightly for the most consistent results, pressing at the same time or too early would just result in a wasted super. On higher fps (~120+) I had to input almost immediately, the problem now was being too late and I would get that weird mini slide with the bubble that he was talking about.
Possible on controller is just sucks with default controls :(

Can you do shadowdive skate? I mean its similar to shatterdive, but maybe you're not running stasis all the time, and doing it on void seems useful.
If it's possible I haven't managed or seen it. My initial thought while testing was that it may be impossible due to Shadowdive eating your melee energy but that might not be the case.

There’s slide skating but it basically acts as a normal sword swing without using ammo

No it only works on the ground, you can't get a second eager edge swipe in the air until after the cooldown

No matter how many times I’ve tried I can’t get shatterskate or we’ll skate to work. It won’t proc my jump after I swing /: itll do the super just fine, but never does the jump even though I immediately press
