Why did I wait this long to watch the vid? It was helpful and answered a few questions I had about the industry. I like these types of vids, then again...I also like all your other vids. Keep it up, man.
Thanks for the awesome video Zach! I really found it helpful in understanding that it will take time to build a music career. I have just started a bachelor of music course at uni and it has been really great so far but I would like to get my name out there and build a bit of a portfolio. I thought it would be good to start sooner rather than later. Do you have any advice for how I should go about creating a portfolio or even just making music and selling it online somewhere?
I would absolutely love to hear you talk about passive revenue--especially since one of my main income sources (piano accompaniment for ballet classes) has been put on hold indefinitely, it's been a struggle to find other ways forward for my career. I'd also like to hear your thoughts about Patreon specifically as a musician. I have a Ko-fi mostly for one-off donations but I haven't really decided whether it would be worth trying to run a Patreon as well.
I think different things at different times, but in general I love the pure challenge of pushing yourself to try something difficult and the reward you feel when you succeed. I feel that whether it's composing, building my career, making a course, or anything in my personal life. Challenge is a big motivator for me 🙂

This account is super underrated. It makes me want to continue studying music composition as an entire with a postive outlook.
