I remember a friend of mine who used a shell ejector like this one. Whenever he played an indoor game, he would fire a shot, eject the shell, and catch it with his trigger hand. He would drop it in a pouch on his leg, and keep going. Terribly impractical, but really badass.
I do appreciate the quality and humor of the videos you guys put out at Redwolf. Wishing there was a Mossberg 590 version though, like the USMC uses. Just so you know, the "Marine" label is on there for the coating, which is resistant to corrosion of salty sea air...so Marine = ocean going not Marine = USMC
@mleesinsky Because our stock caters to higher end products for our clientèle. We have some china products but for the most part we stock middle and premium products only.
indeed it does. You can use the Madbull shotgun shell on some 12ga shotgun, Remington M870 is an example where the fire pin some times does not line up properly. BUt the downside is firing pin will damage the shell long run.
I understand. The Tanaka shotguns are more sought after because they operate more like a real Remington 870. I bought my Maruzen M870 shell ejecting shotgun as a collectible.
I have a Maruzen M870 gas shell ejecting shotgun. It's a lot more reliable, cheaper, and more abundant than a discontinued Tanaka shotgun. I bought it from Redwolf Airsoft a year ago.
the issue with that is that for some people, its difficult to actually get a shot-gun like this, in England, you can buy one, but its modified to a 3 round cap and can cost a lot, cant get cheap guns over here, as well as this gun is made for a Japanese market where guns in general are near impossible to find this is the best alternative for enthusiasts
The US Marine Corps never used the "Marine Magnum." Remington makes a Marine Magnum 870 and its called that because of its nickle plating which prevents corrosion and rust making it more suitable for use on boats or near water (marine areas, hence the name).
What I have seen before that I would consider doing is a shell catcher. I saw a guy at my local arena using a gas shotgun that had a mesh net to catch the shells.
A lot of the non-ejecting shotguns use a 30 round shell shaped magazine. A five shot shotgun will give you 6 shots per shell, or you could just get a 3-shot and only put in 18 BBs. (Though, it's worth noting that they don't usually load in exactly the same way as a real shotgun, and usually take one "shell" at a time) You can find a pretty good spring powered (actually still pretty good, just with somewhat stiffer cocking than a gas one) one for about $50.
It is 200 FPS with the standard shells that come with the gun and fire 3 bbs at a time. Then you have the magpull shells that fire 6bbs at at time with the same power using the same gas. With these you can also use stuff like propane giving you a considerable power boost.I would say around 300 FPS with propane. Finally you have the super magnum shell that fires 1 bb and with propane or green gas puts out 470 FPS.It says 200 FPS because it is the stock power.
well, shell ejecting shotguns are more like collectors items so, the tanaka discontinued gun is far more valuable. keeping in mind that they are the only company even making various high quality 870s
Of course it is not the only one, but it's there among other things. As far as I'm concerned 200 FPS is a bit salty, not by the strict number in itself, but because of the implications.(range, accuracy, "feel" factor)
If you want to use this gun, but not loose your shells you just need to tie a bag to the side of the reciever over the ejector port and catch the shells in that.
This becomes a useful purchase. unfortunately not on sale by redwolf. I made my own, works a charm and this one does fit m870's. Also real world shell catcher bags will work of course if you have access to a place that sells them.
Would some of you people stop bitching about the price. It's incredibly difficult to get real steel in some countries and even in some of the States, like NY. Airsoft provides people who can' get real steel (and who like to skirmish) a chance to shoot. The price reflects quality.
can you put a new different shell into the barrel while there are more inside the tube? so that you can have 'normal' tanaka stock shells in the tube but realise you've got to clear a corridor and just stick a 6 round shell into the ejection slit
1. This gun does have a realistic hammer action, but it's an airsoft gun. There have been reports of the gun exploding after being fired with a real shell? 2. Why would you want to? You can probalbly get a real 870 for cheaper.
As a soon to be owner of a Tanaka M870 ,and as maybe a representative for all owner of Tanaka m870 owner in the world: Does Clarence Lai AKA Airsoft Surgeon any plan to make internal upgrades, for m870 Tanaka series in the future?
Id just rather you a regular pump action tri shot shotgun. They're much cheaper and effective at close to mid range. They can even hit targets from afar if you arch your shot.
@dingbat667 I know that. What I mean stronger trigger groups, like cnc disconnecter, stronger sear and stronger firepin and spring. In other words reinforced part for Tanaka m870. There are aftermarked reinforced Airsoft Surgeon internal upgrades for WA, KSC, TM and some none shotgun Tanaka parts Why not for Tanaka m870 series to? Odd is´nt it?
Has they stopped production of this range of shotguns, as they appear to no longer be on your website? Would be a shame if they have as I really fancied one.
but since the fps of this gun is entirely dependent on the "magazine" you are using (and you will buy some additional shells cause theres only a couple included) the 200fps statement is totally irrellevant ;)
@IanMartinTV there were but its discontinued, the nearest thing you can get is the AR-15 brass catcher with a little bit of mod done, did you buy one of these?
Y would they make the smag shell with short brass. If they were to be realistic the brass should be the biggest of all the mentioned shells. But minus that minor ascetic con that gun looks awesome.
That's kinda a bad comparison because indoors u don't use an mg u use pistols, shotguns, and short aeg's. personally i think a gbb mp5k would destroy indoors
@csmybuttt
Yes, most Airsoft gas shotguns lock the pump when the hammers cocked, Tanaka shotguns are one of the series that do just that.
I remember a friend of mine who used a shell ejector like this one. Whenever he played an indoor game, he would fire a shot, eject the shell, and catch it with his trigger hand. He would drop it in a pouch on his leg, and keep going. Terribly impractical, but really badass.

@mleesinsky
Because our stock caters to higher end products for our clientèle. We have some china products but for the most part we stock middle and premium products only.
thank you, finally someone else who can balance the two greats without bitching and complaining
indeed it does. You can use the Madbull shotgun shell on some 12ga shotgun, Remington M870 is an example where the fire pin some times does not line up properly. BUt the downside is firing pin will damage the shell long run.

I love the new intros!
i don't think this would be very effective in any combat situation, but it looks really freakin cool and it looks fun to use.
the issue with that is that for some people, its difficult to actually get a shot-gun like this, in England, you can buy one, but its modified to a 3 round cap and can cost a lot, cant get cheap guns over here, as well as this gun is made for a Japanese market where guns in general are near impossible to find this is the best alternative for enthusiasts
You good sir, could talk to me about anything for hours on end and I would still find it interesting, great public speaker!
Cheers
I love how they designed the box on the smag shells to look like winchester super x shells.
GREAT Video, I'm gonna buy an Shotgun, heading to a CQB on Sunday, thanks for the great tips, and overview
The US Marine Corps never used the "Marine Magnum." Remington makes a Marine Magnum 870 and its called that because of its nickle plating which prevents corrosion and rust making it more suitable for use on boats or near water (marine areas, hence the name).
Very impressive... Looks like I have been sold on another product present by RW..
Like he said, for out doors or long corridors. You have the SMAG shells which output higher.
this video was interesting and he uses slight comedy unlike most arisoft reviews kept me watching
What I have seen before that I would consider doing is a shell catcher. I saw a guy at my local arena using a gas shotgun that had a mesh net to catch the shells.
@kvbm but the fact that the same representative said that He will consider it on you post in the guestbook means that there might be hope.

it's strange. every time i look online for a gun you make an ad for the exact type I'm looking for.
THAT IS ONE AWESOME SHOTGUN
miss you arclight.

To get even better spreading, you can use BBs with different weights.
Its called marine because it has a stainless finish thus making it more water resistant. The Marines use the mossberg590a1 as their primary shotgun.
Sadly, there isn't an AA12 replica yet, but an AA12 would be rather cumbersome if you think about it. The magazines would be HUGE.
i bought the tanaka m870 18-inch from redwolf and was shipped today, i hope this thing wont bring me down
You guys have great reviews!!
well, shell ejecting shotguns are more like collectors items so, the tanaka discontinued gun is far more valuable. keeping in mind that they are the only company even making various high quality 870s
can you get a 6 shot shotgun thats not shell ejecting? i dont really want the hassle of trying to find scattered shells in the middle of a firefight
Of course it is not the only one, but it's there among other things. As far as I'm concerned 200 FPS is a bit salty, not by the strict number in itself, but because of the implications.(range, accuracy, "feel" factor)
and how would you use it in an airsoft game?
@alienvmetroid no. its a lower pressured gas.
Paired with a shell catch, this really could be rather ideal for indoor skirmishing and CQB.
It's out of stock, but there's a link in the top of the description
Well this gun has really caught my attention shame i live in the UK, maybe i can find it on one of my local sites.
Would some of you people stop bitching about the price. It's incredibly difficult to get real steel in some countries and even in some of the States, like NY. Airsoft provides people who can' get real steel (and who like to skirmish) a chance to shoot. The price reflects quality.
to bad there are none of these left in the world.... i wish tanaka made more of these
Lol... "Bang...." *Looks down* "Rainbow tube :D"
what is the point ,then you have to pick up your shells durning game play
YA KNOW WHAT,SUBSCRIBED,I LOVE AIRSOFT! WHOO
can you put a new different shell into the barrel while there are more inside the tube? so that you can have 'normal' tanaka stock shells in the tube but realise you've got to clear a corridor and just stick a 6 round shell into the ejection slit

Does Clarence Lai AKA Airsoft Surgeon any plan to make internal upgrades, for m870 Tanaka series in the future?
Do you get 8mm shells? would be cool to use as a 'slug' round.
does this shoot 3 at once?
hell id use it for any war looks like fun
I suppose if you didn't want to loose your shells, then you could just improvise and put a net or bag around the chamber to catch the shells.
Id just rather you a regular pump action tri shot shotgun. They're much cheaper and effective at close to mid range. They can even hit targets from afar if you arch your shot.
Shame about the news in HK, I got my real 870 in my house in the UK, 10+1 shells too ;)
@dingbat667 I know that. What I mean stronger trigger groups, like cnc disconnecter, stronger sear and stronger firepin and spring.
In other words reinforced part for Tanaka m870.

Has they stopped production of this range of shotguns, as they appear to no longer be on your website?

How much abuse can the different shells take? Will they brake if someone accidentally steps on them?
but since the fps of this gun is entirely dependent on the "magazine" you are using (and you will buy some additional shells cause theres only a couple included) the 200fps statement is totally irrellevant ;)
Holy shit ! That Airsoft Shotgun is awesome !! Imagine if they did a Spas-15 or AA-12 version ?!
what do you do when someone comes out of the elevator?
Not sure how it is in Hong Kong, but in america every one uses AEGs inside and at cqb games, but with lower power.
do any shells come with the gun.
It's possible to make an bag to attatch to the side so the shells falls in it instead of the floor.
Get a shell net, they're commonly used in real steel hunting and pretty much everyone who skirmishes with a shell ejector in airsoft uses one.
Is there a basket-catch thing for outdoor games So I don't need to pick up shells while advancing to the next tree?
0:16 (small deagle) LOOK AT YOUR LITTLE BABY GUN! XD
I guess the best way to not worry about shell-ejecting is attach a net to the gun with a zipper or something to get them out. Just an Idea.
bro at long last after one year another company has decided to make their own Tanaka m870 parts! i will pm you the link bro
I have an idea put a bag over the shell ejection thing and when u eject they just fall into the bag
@mysterykidlad obiously not, or they'd have them. As far as I know, the orange tips are only a legal requirement in the US.
Can you even get a tanaka shotgun anymore?
@IanMartinTV there were but its discontinued, the nearest thing you can get is the AR-15 brass catcher with a little bit of mod done, did you buy one of these?
Are there any cheap shell ejecting shotguns around? clones or anything?
do they sell semi auto shell ejecting shotguns
RedWolf Airsoft is from Hong Kong.
lol I see you Mr. RedWolf at Feb. 21
I prefer gas blow back pistols as they are powerful, loud, they have recoil and they break down easy and realistic
@redwolfairsoft So you cannot eject a shell you might not need (guy popping up in close range) and HAVE to fire it...hm...
But nice to know.
they should make a Spas12 just like that ..... i would love it
@Jodo89 no theyre discontinued and thats why redwolf wont give a refund on my m870
i got the 18 inch with folding stock from you guys but after a day of plinking it already broke down it wont load the shells anymore
sad these never are in stock how long is the wait ???
can u use the shell more than once?
Yer right, its a red wolf video, and the red wolf link dose not work :/
does all the stuff you show on the gun come with it ? i want one
Y would they make the smag shell with short brass. If they were to be realistic the brass should be the biggest of all the mentioned shells. But minus that minor ascetic con that gun looks awesome.
okay I want it are you going tell me how mach?
you guys should make a box that catches the shell. that would really sell
I am waiting for Tanaka M1897
Lol some airsoft pistol is really loud and really scary to hear it shots during the game
is there like a plug in it or something...because it seems like a waste to have all that tube and by only abel to hold 6-7
it looks soo nice and and its really versitile.... but also sounds like a pain in the ass! and yet i still want one...
im in the us and cant get duster gas so will green gas be bad for it
That's kinda a bad comparison because indoors u don't use an mg u use pistols, shotguns, and short aeg's. personally i think a gbb mp5k would destroy indoors
I really wonder why there are so few pump soft air guns, it seems like the simplest system
i have on my shotgun a shell net. a fish net. fixed with tape. works well
Awesome vid.
Ive got to say I love you guys! BTW the game. you lose it. I lose it
I think the one they have at the ready is the Benelli super 90. Is that correct?
Is that real plz answer
